What Republicans and Democrats both don't like about Ron Paul is that he employs logic to advocate the constitution, freedom and peace. Most politicians don't know how to respond to thoughtful reason. It is a threatening technique to which the best response they have is name calling. Calling Ron Paul a kook has been a very effective strategy on the masses.

It's not a "strategy" when it's the truth.

He's an extremist who supports isolationism, and allowing states to make laws contrary to the federal separation of religious groups and government., among other things.

He wants to legalize all drugs (heroin, coke, crack) and ALL guns (AK-47s, RPGs, etc.) and then wants to eliminate the FBI and CIA on top of that.

Legalizing drugs is not an endorsement of their use. It is merely a recogition that adults are not property of the state and are free to do what does no harm to others. Enforcing arbitrary laws on drugs is a violation not a protection. Also, our misguided foreign policy causes isolationism not free trade and peace. Your logic seems founded on emotion, However, I agree with you that cutting off the U.N. is sane.
