I think you should do a guide on each type of game, like RPG, puzzle, shooter, tower defense, things like that, i know i need help on certain types of games, and I'm sure other people need help!
By the way, this video is my favorite! keep em coming dude!
What about puzzle games? Trying to rush them means you're not going to succeed in the long run, so you sort of have to stop and think at times. Good examples would be Loops of Zen (the original) or 3D Logic; the first few levels are easy enough but there's a notable difficulty curve.
Tass, your face is beautiful. Once again, you did a nice job with the video. It really got me thinking on who I am as a player (a sniper type player) and how I can better myself when I play these games. I am looking forward to your next video!!
I can't really give an opinion as to how well this advice will work for console or PC multiplayer games, given a) i don't play console or PC games and b) these videos are geared for casual gaming, focusing especially on flash games. so it's quite possible that you're right... which is not to say that i'm wrong. you're saying that i'm not helping you pick apples when i'm specifically helping you pick tomatoes.
well i stumbled across this as i was looking for dtd pro tips(i'm a long time addict since i hooked up with whiteboard td, randomly). i'm a very VERY casual gamer b/c i frustrate easily. i'm a mixed martial artist here in columbus, OH and i'd say you're exactly right. I think common sense dictates that. Knowing yourself and your own tendencies are utmost. Otherwise you'll never overcome them or benefit from them when the time comes. can't believe you even answered that pompous post. :)
@DarkSabre753 If you were at all a professional in any game, you'd realize that every time you go into a situation you are constantly trying to stratagize to maximize the outcome each time you are facing someone. Since everyone is basically "cevo p" in CSS, i'll assume that is one of your games. Same applies. I'm not going to rush someone unless i know i can kill them before they react, etc. Most things in CSS work across the board, but in general you gotta know how YOU play.
How about an episode that gives you ideas for certain genres of games if you get stuck? It can be a universal group of ideas, or ideas for specific genres of games.
What does "need a life" even mean? He has a real job, a long-time and hot girlfriend, admins a highly trafficed website, gets paid on this website, and gets paid on ArmorGames as well as another flash website. I fail to see how "he needs to get a life". What else should he do? Or shouldn't do? I didn't like the video either. In any case, you're giving him views which gives him money.
Yah nice tip man knowing what your doing, just like we learn to read and then we read to learn, this is like we think to win and then we win to think differently because of the victory for winning are upgrades, I suggest to make a video of like the combination of stats you have like in platform racing 2, speed acceleration and jumping? whats a good combination depending on the level you are talking about?
Good One,Good Video I Like It But I Don't Need a Advice How to Win a game,But I Can Tell You That this helped Thanks Tass...And You Should Make A Video I Mean Tass Tips Episode On How to Tell People That Cheating Is Wrong, and You need to go though the hard way to the gold.
yes... the next video will likely transition into that direction. this one dealt with self awareness and gaming based on personal preferences. the logical next topic is dealing with general strategies forced by the game design.
Knowing yourself might help coordinate loose thoughts into a plan, but what about knowing the game itself? Beyond reading the instructions, making a strategy based on what is offered in the game is also important. If you have any experience with this, maybe you can elaborate on that in a video.
This can include classic strategies like a power offense, meat wall + range units, why range units are effective despite statistically having much less damage than melee (thinking of epic wars 2 here) etc
Also just being resourceful in general, noticing the options given to you. For example, hobbit spam in epic wars 2, or the runners warlords:call to arms.
Common strategies in tower defences are using as much space for your radius, supporting your towers with slow effects, mazing, analyzing cost:benefit ratio of upgrading towers vs buying more vs limited ideal space
In RPGs its about specializing in a clear path and training support abilities ie Melee fighters w/ heal or mages/archers w/ slow
Now I think this could be an idea to another series.
Maybe you must tell about every kind of game ( or the important ones ) and give some tips hints to beat it easily or help you to make some decisions in determinated games.
It was pretty good, but again, I knew most of it. I love your face o.0 Also, nice new haircut...I think. This is a good idea for many of the people that don't know, but I think they would learn more from the same concept, but done on specific genres, with a breakdown of the character builds. I, personally, know what I prefer for most types of games. Still, love you, love your videos, great stuff. Keep 'em coming :P
but I think this ep is just for the "want achievement" type of ppl. If I just crashed on a game site, I would just have fun and not think about any plans. Thankfully, I'm the type which wanna get the most badges so this vid really helped me Thanks Tass
pretty good, helps alot,i cant beleive that u give tips and walkthroughs that simple..why dont u keep them for yourself, that what i do :p thanx anyways
Excellently put into words something that I knew kind of subconsciously but probably wouldn't take into account when starting a game. This kind of tip helps a lot when stat nerds like me are constantly looking for strictly dominant strategies. Knowing who you are can make the decision for you on what strategy to go for. Maybe this is why I was always better with green stompy decks than blue stall decks in magic...
These tips are far more meta than I thought they were going to be and it's good
topic was kind of obvious, but I understand that there isn't much that you could really say here. I appreciate the walkthroughs. The only thing that bothers me is that intro where you talk about yourself :P
I think your next Tass Tip should be dealing with Kongregate. Alot of people are dealing with the fact you are the only one with alot of game walkthroughs that are dealt in the kong site.
you should do a long walthrough for like an rpg without the game being sped up and with commentary because like you said know yourself. and if you do that we know more about you and the way you play games. the we can give better tips and walkthorughs to suit you. also it will be entertaining to us and more or less love you enternally. i cant stress this enough. (wink-wink) (wink-wink for the wink-wink

I am not criticizing your advice, just adding a small tip to it.
I just said that because it helped me a lot. Hope you dont mind.

lol you have no idea what you're talking about
just because you have a tendancy to play in a particular way which is familiar, that doesn't mean it's the best way to play
different games reward different types of behaviour. if you try and play them all the same because of your personality, you will lose
