I see your point, many people tend to go for the "keeping up with the Jones's" approach when buying desirable cars like BMW without considering if the car is the right one for them. It's a very common problem with younger BMW guys. Also, they don't really understand the cost of ownership. They think they are just buying a BMW and that it'll be perfect... That's not the case.
That is very true. I was more or less zooming in on the BMW guys that do this a lot just to say that they have a BMW... It is true of all car buyers, though.
