Was Catholic no more it's a hangout for paedophiles. it's wrong PERIOD!!!! No if and or but
Catholics think they are untouchable and in the right. They are very very Wrong. They are supporting a currupt organization. Men abusing and forcing themselves on young boys would not be tollerated anywhere else but inside the Catholic church.
If anyone says that a Catholic does not have real faith (I mean a practicing Catholic), then it is a reflection of that person's ignorance. If anyone says that Catholics know nothing about the Bible, that is gross misinformation by people who know nothing about Catholics. Scripture is proclaimed daily (typically starting with a passage from Old Testament, a Psalm, an Epistle and then a Gospel) at Mass. For devout Catholics that cannot attend daily, they are encouraged to do the readings at home
I'm Catholic but Catholic serve two Gods which is one Fake god and True God but Jesus Christ. They follow the Man's law than God's law and Catholic like the Pharisees in the Bible. That's why I stopped attending mass at the catholic church when I was found the truth in the Bible which is the word of God.We accept Christ in our hearts, mind and spirit because he is the only one God.I hope my fellow catholic will find the Truth through reading the holy bible and always pray to God.
I agree to what your saying. I'm faithful Catholic and NOTHING will ever change that. Jesus Christ is my lord and savior. Noone has authority to judge others AT ALL. That is God's duty.To all CHRISTIANS, Our place is to love one another and keep the commandments and follow Jesus' message. Spurring Hate to your fellow Catholic brethren is Hate, pure intolerance.
Ok first of all just because a church has a cross does not mean they are christian there are kids these days who have crosses on their shirt because now days its the fashion idk why and the mormon church says its christian because it has jesus name in their church name and say they believe in jesus is their savior BUT you still have to work to get to live with god. This world is very deceptive
"Haec est fides catholica, quam nisi quisque fideliter firmiterque crediderit, salvus esse non poterit." (This is the Catholic Faith; which except a man believe truly and firmly, he cannot be saved.)
It is the Catholic Church who made the divinity of Christ a DOGMA, against heretics such as Arius. It is the Church who proclaimed the Trinity, the human-divine nature of Christ, etc etc.
Just because the name "Christian" isn't anywhere in the word "Catholic" is a stupid way to define it. Then Pentecostals aren't, either... nor Baptists... not Methodists... nor Evangelicals..
For those who have the doubt, go to Mass. You will change your mind. Do not be afraid. Everyone is welcome to the Last Supper. No one will kick you out.
Whether your catholic or Protestant, God does NOT look at the church you attend, he rather looks at the heart and soul. You can attend a catholic church and be an amazing servant to God same for protestants. Matter fact you don't even HAVE to go to church (Although it is a very good way to fellowship) in order for you to receive the joy of the lord and the eternal life
@ekow777 Slight difference is that Jesus founded ONE CHURCH, The Catholic. He specifically said "Eat My Flesh. Drink My Blood"... the Holy Eucharist isn't ANYWHERE outside the Catholic Church. The Holy Eucharist is SALVATION.
So you can pick any church for your own convenience... but there's only ONE true path =)
LiftAloft, By today's standards almost anyone can 'say' their a Christian, and that includes some who use Christ's name as well. I guess perhaps why most speak out against the Catholic Church is because of so much idolatry it seems, but there are 'idols' that others 'pray' to and lift up as well. Basically, how about one lining up their 'walk' with what the Bible says a follower of Christ is and take it from there?? Matthew 7:21 seems pretty loud to me on this subject as well. God help us all.
before discussing whether a person or a church is christian, people need to define what they regard as the requirements for being a christian. the persons who refer to themselves as "christian" disagree among themselves in regard to what the requirements for being a "christian" are. likewise, the persons who call themselves "jews" disagree among themselves in regard to what the requirements for being a "jew" are.
The problem is catholics believe that faith is only part of what you need to do to get to Heaven. The Bible says that only faith will get you to Heaven. Titus 3:5, Ephesians 2:8-9 & John 3:36, John 6:47
@EIGHTYNINENINERS --If the bible said we are saved by faith alone, why does the bible say "Faith, hope, and charity, and the greatest of these is charity". Faith + good works + hope = heaven !!!
@WorldBibleUnion454 the same reason Jesus said that you need His mercy and faith in HIM to enter Heaven. If you trust in your works you will go to hell because you are saying you don't need God and therefore your sins are not forgiven!
@EIGHTYNINENINERS - Catholics do not say that they do not need God. First thing Catholics say is that you have to have faith in God to go to heaven. On the top of that you should do good works that God commanded us to do e.g. love neighbors, feed the poor etc. Faith + Works is what Catholics teach, not faith alone nor works alone.
@ChrisDaron You are wrong. You don't need good works to be saved. You are saved to do the good works of God. Saved first by faith in Jesus, then expected to do the good works of God. Good works are the fruits of salvation. Not good works to be put on God's weighing scale to see if you have done enough good to be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.”
@opsvideo2008 So when Jesus asks us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick, etc... he was just kidding?
Be careful, pal.... you're following Luther's idea, not Christ's.
Those who believe that only faith will save them are FOOLISH and IGNORANT. Read James. If "believing" were the Alpha and the Omega, then... even Satan would be saved.
@ChrisDaron I don't want to repeat myself. Salvation is not earned by good works but by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Christians are saved to do the good works of the God, not the other way around. After a person has been saved by faith in Christ, of course he is expected next to do the good works of God but the good works didn't save him in the first place. It was Jesus death that saved him. So simple but yet so difficult for catholics to understand. You people are blind.
@opsvideo2008 And if Luther's theory of "Sola Fidei" is right, then Catholics are saved first and foremost. Yet Protestants keep attacking us with their nonsense.Protestant theories fail every time.
@ChrisDaron You've poor understanding of christian history. While the protestant faith is a true christian faith which upholds the sovereignity of the bible as God's infallible word, it is an offshoot that broke from the catholic faith through Martin Luther who was a former catholic priest himself. Apart fromt catholicism and protestantism, the true churches of God have always existed in parallel in history & they were the ones who were persecuted by the roman catholic inquisition.
@opsvideo2008 "True" faith? yeah, with so many sects that don't agree with one another, I'm sure it's ONE of those what Christ Himself founded....
And Catholics were persecuted during the Reformation, too... You did know about it, right? Popes were killed, anyone who was Catholic was murdered by Protestants all over Europe.
@ChrisDaron It is very simple. Whichever protestant denominations believe the bible is the authoritative word of God which has final say in the affairs of the believer & that Christ is the only Saviour of the world, they are the true churches of God. Whichever other, then they are not of God even though they may claim to be so. The main fact you should remember is that your catholic church killed >50 million believers over the centuries in the name of God, which makes it evil..
@opsvideo2008 So then it's all about whatever group that "Believes" in the Bible (which, by the way, was written by the HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH) is the church that Jesus might have founded? Like... many, many? because in the Bible, He specifically founded ONE, and He founded on Peter.
Then those denominations (a word that isn't even in the Bible... it's absolutely man-made) killed Catholics just for being Catholics, which ISN'T evil, correct?
@opsvideo2008 Some Protestants do believe that the Catholic Church IS the Church of Jesus, but then Luther had to come to "fix" a few things... some other believe that their individual little sect that from Christ (which contradicts the Bible.) Some have the Bible as their only authority (silly kids don't realize the Bible is a CATHOLIC document) and being guided by the Bible itself is HERESY, and nowhere in the Bible does it say we should do so.
@ChrisDaron The protestants who believe the catholic church is of Jesus is wrong & have been seduced by the catholic church through its ecumenical propaganda. Martin Luther, a former catholic priest & a highly educated german professor had access to the Scriptures at a time when the catholic church was forbidding the catholic faithful from reading the bible themselves for fear they would find out the truths. Luther exposed the catholic church for its heresies & the rest is history.
@opsvideo2008 Educated? yeah, I don't think educated people get drunk and throw their feces at a temple.
And I've made my point: you Protestants are very divided. You have thousands of different denominations. Jesus specifically says He founded ONE CHURCH. No Protestant denomination can be traced to Jesus AT ALL. Therefore, Protestatism is HERESY, IMPURE, LYING, and UNCHRISTIAN.
The Holy Catholic Church remains the same ever since the year 33, my friend.
@ChrisDaron You now show your blind loyalty to your church in preference to the truth that Martin Luther was indeed a former catholic priest and a german professor of theology at the Wittenberg university. Your blind & unquestioning loyalty to your catholic church & your hatred of Luther has distorted your perception of truth just as they have caused you to be blind to the historical truth that your beloved church blasphemously slaughtered > 50 million believers in the name of God.
@opsvideo2008 What cracks me up and you and the rest of the Protestants is that you keep pointing THE SAME even when we keep explaining.... You guys have no arguments whatsoever.... What I'm replying to is what I replied two like two or three days ago or longer than that.
I'm dealing with a Protestant, after all.... Born protesting... will die protesting.
@ChrisDaron The reason we keep pointing to the same gross crimes committed by your so called "church" is simply because you have constantly buried your head into the sand & refused to acknowledge them. And if you have the guts to acknowledge them, then you would have admitted indirectly that no true church of God would killed millions in the name of God when God Himself said in the 5th commandment..."Thou shall not kill." You are in denial & we're not talking about paedophilia yet.
You only see what the news want you to watch. What your pastors tell you. You haven't mentioned anything about the killing of Catholics by the dirty hands of Protestants... right? of course not. Pedophilia? Parents do that. It's ignorant to focus on Priests just because they're on the news (as if the news were all true... they're controlled by the GOVERNMENT)
@opsvideo2008 Talk to me about all Popes who have becomes saints... talk to me about how many Protestants have become saints... yes, NONE because Protestantism has NOTHING to do with the Church Jesus founded. Talk to me about denying His Precious Blood and Flesh (which there's no Eternal Life without.) Talk to me about the many, little theories and philosophies of the many Protestant Sects,
Talk to me about why all Protestant leaders are MEN and NOT JESUS.
@opsvideo2008 Yet you only focus on the killing, the so-called pedophilia, Protestant-made lies.... Is THAT what your pastor sends you here to do?
How pathetic, then.
Why so many sects when Jesus founded A CHURCH?
Why so many "churches" when Jesus wants ONE FLOCK?
Why breathe and eat OUR BIBLE?
Talk to me about that. The rest you tell me is overrated, distorted, untrue, the past. Protestants focus on the past. Believe in THE PRESENT. Follow Jesus, not some German, fat, drunken "leader"
@ChrisDaron You are truly in the full bloom of denial when you say the killing of true believers (>50 million victims) during the roman catholic inquisition and the worldwide paedophilia committed by catholic priests (America, Canada, South America, Ireland, Germany, Holland, Italy, Austria, Australia, etc...) are protestant lies. Please lay aside your blind loyalty to your catholic church, open your eyes wide, surf the internet and youtube, and maybe you will see the truth.
@opsvideo2008 Based on this logic, we should bring down the entire Christian Church and most governments. Much of the "inquisition" was carried out by over-zealous government officials and village communities, using religion to manipulate their own ends, and I don't think there is a major Christian denomination that isn't facing charges of pedophelia somewhere (a heinous crime no matter who). Yep, that means Protestant churches too. Just saying...
@Jays1fan1 You've missed the point. You've got your historical facts wrong because the roman catholic inquisition was ordered & initiated by none other than the catholic popes themselves, to stamp out any bible believer who did believe as they do. The false charge used was these people were "heretics" Since when did the God & Jesus of the bible say could torture & murder people in the name of God? It makes the catholics leadership of that time murderers, and you a blind apologist.
@opsvideo2008 Actually, I'm not inaccurate in who carried out many of the torturous acts of the inquisition. I never denied that the orders of the inquisition (to stamp out heretical views) was issued by the Church.
@opsvideo2008 In my travels throughout Europe and studies in European history, several sites I visited that were the locations of the inquisition were not churches, but government buildings. Orders of torture were not being made by bishops only, but largely by government officials. In small towns, villagers often declared themselves judges and jury and zealously used the inquisition to stamp out who they felt were "undesirable".
@Jays1fan1 Again you show your blind apologist mentality when you conveniently blind yourself to the fact the catholic church is the only religious organization whose top leadership conceals the sexual crimes of their catholic priests by knowingly transferring the paedophile priests from parish to parish to avoid detection, without any concern whatsoever to the children they will raping again. And this is done on a worlwide basis while at the same time preaching morality to others.
@opsvideo2008 The Catholic Church is not the only religious organization that has made mistakes in how to handle issues of paedophilia amongst its clergy. There are certainly other churches facing their own scandals (i.e. Anglican Church). These churches have not done better. The internal transferring of priests is WRONG! No doubt. Clearly a breakdown in parts of the Church; however with over 300 000 priests in the world, it is not fair to call the entire Church rotten.
@Jays1fan1 You don't realise that while other religious organization may possibly have their paedophilia issues, it is treated on an individual, case by case basis by the local church. These organizations do not deliberately & systematically cover-up their sexual crimes on a worldwide basis. Their top officials will never transfer the paedophiles from one church to the next & hide these crimes from the authorities. The catholic church is the only one in the world doing such a thing.
@ChrisDaron Weighing all the facts of the case, the summary of the truth is this.....mass murder of true believers (50 million people) by the roman catholic inquisition + worldwide paedophilia committed by catholic priests + additional man-made books in the bible (Apocrypha) + man-made doctrines going against bible teaching = zero spiritual credibility = false church of God + false canon of the bible.
@ChrisDaron God already revealed in Revelation 17:6....." I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. " While this book was being written in the 1st century AD, God already foresaw what would happen and who would be killing the saints and the matyrs of Jesus. The historical fact is >50 million people were killed by the catholic church during the roman catholic inquisition.
@opsvideo2008 See? there's no talking to you. A toddler pays more attention than any Protestants. I call Protestants "Autistic" kids because they don't listen. They won't understand.
Another Protestant.... the same, old arguments. I wonder if Luther was like that, too...
@ChrisDaron You cannot refute the fulfilled prophecy of God's word in Revelation 17 :6 about the harlot (false church) " who was drunk with the blood of the saints and the matyrs of Jesus " ; of her being the roman catholic church. 50 million believers died since the papal Inquisition was formally instituted by Pope Gregory IX in 1231. Your best defence is pathetic name-calling when you cannot refute this truth. "Same, old arguments" you say but nevertheless they are TRUE.
@opsvideo2008 You do realize that the Book of Revelations was written in a literary form that heavily relied on symbolism to deliver the message of Jesus' great salvation to a people being severely persecuted? Many of Jesus disciples, by this point had been martyred defending their belief in Christ. How do you understand this statement (taken severly out of context) to mean the inquisition? Time to crack scripture again with some real referencing and not reading with your own jaded perspective.
@ChrisDaron With all due respect, it is not appropriate to speak so disrespectfully to any Christain denomination about the founder of their church or the tenets of faith they have evolved. Has it been done to you by someone from a Protestant church? I'm sure or you wouldn't be reacting this way. However, it is not Christian to act in such a way in return. As a Catholic, I'm asking you to remember to turn your cheek and respectfully correct misinformation that exists about Catholics out there.
@opsvideo2008 "After a person has been saved by faith in Christ, of course he is expected next to do the good works of God but the good works didn't save him in the first place. It was Jesus death that saved him."
That is EXACTLY Catholic Faith.
I challenge you to find ANYWHERE in the Cathechism where the Church teaches otherwise. Good luck... (sic)
"So simple but yet so difficult for catholics to understand"
Again with the condescension... wow are you for real??
(following...)THEREFORE your life and actions will be in order with life without SIN. That's "doing things" so that is where you do WORKS everyday. Your daily actions become those prayers and you become an everyday SAINT! :) God bless you
I wish you become Catholic some day and enter to the Fullness of the truth! :) Interesting video. I've heard of the "Faith alone" issue so long but now I'm about to proposed a logic for you to think: If you think (and believe) in the so-called Faith alone statement (everyone can be saved through Faith "alone"), it is because you are willing to LIVE a rightful life following the teaching of Jesus. (continued...)
Saint Ignatius (35-107), the second Bishop of Antioch wrote a letter to the Smyrneans in 107 A.D..
In this letter is recorded the first known use of the words "Catholic Church"...
Paragraph #8
"You must all follow the lead of the bishop, as Jesus Christ followed that of the Father; follow the presbytery as you would the Apostles; reverence the deacons as you would God's commandment. Let no one do anything touching the Church, apart from the bishop
Let that celebration of the Eucharist be considered valid which is held under the bishop or anyone to whom he has committed it. Where the bishop appears, there let the people be, just as where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.
Did you know that MArtin Luther added the word, "alone" to the Bible, hence Faith "alone". He also took half of the new test. out for his early church because it didnt work with his view of Christianity. In particular, the book of James because it makes mention of faith without works. It is those "works" that Catholics are focused on...
Luther then tried to take away from communion because as an ex-communicated Catholic, he did not have the ability to offer the host to his flock.
One of the most unintelligible and repugnant of slurs is the accusation that the Roman Catholic is not a Christian. Such a mentality fails to appreciate the historical evidence which details the Catholic Church as the first and the legitimate Christian community established by Christ. The alternative to such thinking would be that Christianity disappeared entirely for 1,500 years only to reappear with the Protestant Reformation.
@VictoryInJesus454 nope im dealing with a real wacko now his last post Our church teaches that psychology is of the devil we deal with things by prayer and demonstration of the Spirit. There is no mental illness only demonic oppression, for God gives the Spirit of love power and a sound mind.
Would our Lord abandon his Church and allow the truth to be ecclipsed throughout the centuries? Of course not. There is no logic to such a view. The Lord promised that he would never abandon his Church, even unto the end of the world.
those people calling are absolute lying trash who don't know their history. ignore them. catholics are 100% christians... hell they were the first christians while the protestants broke off from them.
@WeekNightGaming Actually sir/mam, The first Christians were the Jews not the Catholics; However, I think that declaring who were the first Christians or who broke off from who is pretty irrelevant to the question on weather Catholics are Christians or not. That being said, I think that we (including myself) should study the bible to find out what the characteristics of a Christian are; just as a scientist would find the characteristics of a species in order to categorize an animal. then we know
@jmedranomusic the jews are not christians, sir. please educate yourself on world religions. some uneducated wits like to think and preach that catholics aren't christians and etc. when in fact their sect of christianity came from catholicism at one point. all the protestant religions did. i have studied the bible as well as have been to theology classes. i know what i am talking about.
@WeekNightGaming actually the Jews were the first Christians.....if i may ask... who where Jesus's first followers?- His disciples and the people of Jerusalem and Judea aka the Jews. Jesus even spoke and preached in the Jewish synagogues as a child (found in the Gospels) so yes, the Jews were the first Christians.
@jmedranomusic ok in that reference then yes of course the ethnically jewish men WHO FOLLOWED HIM were the first christians. i am talking about the first christians before they broke off into all these sects. jews were not the first christians in that case where everyone in judea were. only his followers were technically his first followers.
Being judgmental is NOT Christ-like. But it seems to be the way of ALL of you who claim to be Christian like to behave.
We DO NOT PRAY TO SAINTS. Before you judge, you should read something about another faith that is written by an authority in that faith. We all believe in God ,the 10 commandments and walk with Jesus. But I guess we're still going to hell, according to "Christians". Christian faith was politically motivated. and developed in 350 AD. Just love everybody, will ya?
Just A Couple Of The 10 Commandments: Do Not Worship Any Other Gods, Do Not Make Any Idols; You Just Admitted That Catholics Pray To Marry & Other Saints/ Idols! If They Are Not Treating Marry & Other Saints/ Idols As A God Then Why Pray To Them. Would Good Can Does It Do A Real Believer In Jesus To Pray To An Ordinary Person? My Point Exactly! Pure Blasphemy! Satan Get Of The Eye Lids Of The People In This World! In Jesus Name Amen!!!
Great video... I don't understand when one finds Jesus... Catholic or not please see finding Jesus makes you a Christian. Also for that matter if you have questions about the catholic faith.. Go ask catholic who really understand there faith. Really do some good research and see why Catholics believe what they do... You will find that everything is backed up in the bible... Gods words not mans words... Gods love to all Christians love your friend in Christ Brendan :)

I have a big problem with the RCC for this reason: if I were Catholic and considering the true Gospel, that Christ alone totally justifies me and I need to believe in Him + nothing for my salvation/AND if I believe in anything else to help justify me then I am in fact NOT justified (Gal 5:1-9), I would find it hard to believe b/c in that case, what is the point of all those sacraments, masses, statues, rosaries, gnarly bones, etc.? How could the Gospel be true b/c my church implicitly denies it?
May I remind the Protestants are peopling in protest to the authority of the Pope, hence the word Protestant. Jesus Christ founded the Catholic Church, that’s historical fact. ALL other Christians Faiths were founded by a man or women. So who is not Christian…well someone who is not in the church the CHRIST founded. This is historical and sociological fact. Add in theology and I’m not sure how any rational people cold even make such a stupid remark as Catholics are not Christians!
@Randy02116 catholics were not founded by jesus it was founded by rome and the pope were they twisted it and turned it into a persacuting power hungry nightmare. god would never make such a church.
@Randy02116 Just A Couple Of The 10 Commandments: Do Not Worship Any Other Gods, Do Not Make Any Idols; You Just Admitted That Catholics Pray To Marry & Other Saints/ Idols! Evangelicals and the anti Catholics alike are blissfully ignorant individuals who blind themselves through their simplicity and prideful prejudices.... Either Catholics got it right, or Christianity has been a false religion for 1600 years.... Chew on that. I happen to be a convert, too.... A journey into history is a journey out of protestantism....

Thank you so much for posting this out!! I recently happened to get to know someone brought up in the Roman Catholic believe system and I know little to nothing about it (I consider myself a Biblical believer) but really prayed about this and the answer that I got is pretty much the same; these people believe in Jesus Christ and therefor are justified, thank God!! So we are gonna see em in heaven, yeah!! :)

So you are basically saying that you can have "have faith" and keep on sinning willingly? being an idolater?bowing down before statues and worshiping? adding works to salvation? denying that Jesus is the only way to God the father? is that what you are saying?...I recommend that you read your the true gospel and stop professing false teachings.
@LiftAloft You aren't being honest with yourself. MrGhettown asked you, besides "keep on sinning willingly" , can you still "have faith" while being an idolater?, bowing down before statues & worshipping them? adding works to salvation? etc...You avoided answering these questions because you know it's not possible for you to "have faith" & yet do these unbiblical things. But you kept silent & didn't say these things are wrong. You are just conning yourself, which is self deception.
@LiftAloft This is the question that MrGhettown ask you that can you say you "have faith" and yet "add works to your salvation" ? while being an idolater?, and bowing down before statues & worshipping them? You still haven't answered his questions because you know deep down inside that catholics cannot claim to "have faith" and yet do all these unbiblical things. It is time for you to look into the mirror and ask the image staring back at you if he has been honest with himself.
@opsvideo2008 "You still haven't answered his questions because you know deep down inside that catholics cannot claim to "have faith" and yet do all these unbiblical things"
If you're interested, I suggest you read my previous answers. I've responded to every single critique made by MrGrettown.
If you're still not conviced, read why the 2nd Nicean Council deemed it ok to defend icons (sacred images). And stop the condescension... The Church Fathers knew WAY MORE about the Bible than you or me.
@opsvideo2008 And if you're STILL not convice, might I suggest you read the GREATEST christian theologian / philosopher of all time: St Thomas Aquinas.
Open Summa Theologiae (easy to find on the internet), Part IIIa, Q25. This is the part where St Thomas explains, POINT BY POINT, why honoring images is a good thing to do.
EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE OBJECTION that can be made against this practice, he answers them... and you'll be happy to know he does so with quotations from the Bible.
@MrGhettown I don't worship statues and I am a Catholic. Your beliefs in the Catholic Church are wrong. I appreciate LiftAloft for being so considerate of the Catholic church. And when have Catholics ever proclaimed that Jesus is not the only way to the Father. I've never heard that from any priest's mouth or the catechism or the Catholic bible. But thank you, LiftAloft for your insights on the Church. It's refreshing to find a non-Catholic Christian that dosen't bash the Church. God bless
@gothicavictoria1341 Hello, Victoria. I am Catholic as well, and yes.... most Protestants (about 99.99% of them) don't understand the Catholic Faith. They think that we WORSHIP statues and Mary is our "goddess." When this happens, I invite them to go to Mass with me but they won't go...
.. how, then, are they going to understand us???
It's ignorance.. Protestantism is founded ON A MAN, a HERETIC man.
@MrGhettown You sir are a complete fool and ignorant of Catholicism. Here are a couple of points you've made:
1. "being an idolater" To IDOLIZE is to be mistaken about God's nature, and to worship what has been created (matter, ideas, finite beings, etc) as God. Catholics know God is an immaterial being. We know that God is BEING in itself (Ex 3.14). Therefore, it is impossible for us to IDOLIZE whatsoever.
@MrGhettown 2. "bowing down before statues and worshiping?"
The english langage is very poor. It doesn't make a diffrence between the different "worships" there are. Please learn about LATRIA (which is ONLY DUE TO GOD) and DULIA, which is the way we HONOR past saints, who have live a holy life, and have let Jesus be the master of their life.
According to Aristotle, there are two realities "connecting" with an image. Either it is directed to the image itself or to what it REPRESENTS.
As soon as you have faith in Christ, then you must act accordingly. Catholicism doesn't teach we are saved by works. We say that GRACE is a free gift of God. But AS SOON AS this grace has been made available, then you must do good works. If not, then you are a hypocrit. This is VERY CLEAR in the Bible.
@MrGhettown 4. "denying that Jesus is the only way to God the father?"
Are you for real? Apart repeating what you have learned from your sect, can you THINK a little?
The Catholic Church ASSEMBLED THE BIBLE. We declared it to be CANONICAL, i.e. THE WORD OF GOD. If there's anyone who should be teaching something about Christ, it is US, not you. The Bible's authority depends ENTIRELY on the Catholic Church.
Read Jn 6.14: yes, that's part of the Catholic Bible. We believe JESUS in THE ONLY WAY.
@MrGhettown 5. "I recommend that you read your the true gospel and stop professing false teachings."
I recommand you LEARN about the Catholic Church. Read the Church's HISTORY, read about the Church Fathers, Church Doctors. Read the Cathechism. Read the Creeds. Read the Encyclicals.
Seriously, you're PATHETIC in your critique. Stop relying on what you've been thought, and seek for yourself.
@Gazdo01 When you start to lean on men such as your cathlic church, church fathers & catechism to tell you what the true gospel is all about, then you've already set up yourself for someone who actually knows nothing about the things of God, to mislead you. Jesus already gave the warning in Matthew 15:14 saying...." Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” You have already fallen into the " ditch ".
In response to your video... Pray a little more and you shall find the thruth. The first Christians, were Catholics, The Church was stablish on Peter.. You are my Rock and here I will stablish my Church. Later came the split, remember Martin Luther and now we have over 3000 protestants and growing.. we are all children of God, now if Protestant, dont want to hear the thruth what can be done. Catholic means Universal, Study the Catholic Church, and you will see the light, may God bless you.
I'm sorry but I get annoyed when Catholics claim they have been around since the days of the apostles and yet Catholicism only came into existence sometime after the year 300AD. Catholics say that the apostle Peter was the first pope and yet the word "pope" cannot even be located anywhere in the bible, neither can the word "catholic." If Christianity truly comes from God, then Christianity is only what He says it is.
@Dynamo994 Catholic is Latin for universal .. Universal Christians, It was the Romans who nominated us as Christians , since we follow Jesus, as the true son of God.... Read some history, and visit the tomb of peter which happends to be under the Vatican. Is this coincidence.. Peter you are Rock and on you I will stablish my Church.
@ceiba74 Please don't talk to me about history, I have studied the history of the catholic church and I have sudied my bible. If you want to talk about history then I don't mind bringing up all the crimes the Catholic church has inflicted upon thousands of people, such as violonce and torture, etc, things for which the whole world blames on all of us christians. I don't believe in catholicm as much as i don't believe in the protestants. there is no scriptural proof for either of them.
@Dynamo994 shall I refer you to all the atrocities committed by the protestant church starting with the hatred of the reformers to each other and progressing onward. Or do you still wish to use this specious argument. By the way their is even less scriptural profs for your idiotic beliefs
@Dynamo994 Yes it is true many crimes were comitted under the name of God, you are very right. just remember that they were commited by people, not The Church, There had been abuse of power and there still is, among many in the world, but not just us the Catholics. See this is how we fall away from grace, when we start glorifying ourselves and forgett about God. But if you study the Catholic Church as a Divine institution, you might change your mind.
@Dynamo994 .... I see resentment due to the lack of love that was exercise by many clergy men and women, and Believe me Jesus hinself does too. Will you read the Diary of ST. Faustina. There he agrees with you. But that does not mean the Church built by Jesus himself is to blame, Is the love of the world, I cannot speak for our protestant brothers, since they fell away from the Church. But I do see a spark for the truth inside your heart.May that spark bring you to peace and love.
@Dynamo994 gee the word bible isn't in the bible either . by the way ever hear of the word Father in the Bible. Gee and all this time I thought Pope Papa was father in Italian. another clownish statment
Paul set up the Church in the Holy Spirit to look like this: Eph.4:1-16... with both deacons in Acts and Timothy and Titus to support the Elders (Gr. Bishops) Overseers or Apostolic company of 5 offices in humble, servant consensual unity with a presideing Bishop
what churches does this remind you of there is no church hierarchy no priests, ministers, vicars, deans, or popes. When a Muslim prays he prays directly to God not through any intermediary. When he serves God he is not serving an institution but God alone. Every human being is individually responsible for their own actions and their own beliefs. No one can take that responsibility away from you. Oh yes the Muslims
In Titus 1:5, Paul tells Titus: "For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldst set in order the things that are wanting, and shouldst ordain priests in every city, as I also appointed thee."
@martlut What bible version are you quoting? Is it your own version ? Because if you look at other major English versions, there is no mention of "priests" as in the verses you quoted. For e.g. Titus 1:5 of the KJV says..." For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thous shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain ELDERS (not "priests" as you wrongly say) in every city, as I had appointed thee :.." Even the corrupted NIV version says it is ELDERS. Please be credible.
In James 5:14-15 we read: "Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil, in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man; and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him."
@martlut It is the same with James 5:14-15, KJV says ..."Is there any sick among you? let him call for the ELDERS of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;..." There is no mention of the special position of priests in the New Testament church. All christians are priests unto God as is taught by the bible in 1 Peter 2:9 that says ..." But you are a chosen generation, a royal PRIESTHOOD, a holy nation, His own special people, ....."
@martlut Are you aware that the bible both in the old and the new testament forbids anyone from adding or subtracting from God's word? That is what you are doing : changing the word of God from "ELDERS" to "PRIESTs" just to justify your false catholic faith. So be credible in your quotation of Scripture; otherwise you show yourself to be a liar.
"I have written you quite boldly on some points, as if to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit."
Paul tells us that because he has been given a calling as a professional minister of Christ, he has a priestly duty of preaching the gospel so that the Gentiles may be an offering—a sacrifice to God.
So, no quackery here save for your attempt to shift onus and make it seem like following the scriptures is a nutty thing to do. But, then, that's what cults do - isn't it.
Destroy the scriptures in defense of their philosophy. Wait, why ask you. You're a cut and paste specialist who doesn't know his subject.
2205 The Christian family is a communion of persons, a sign and image of the communion of the Father and the Son in the Holy Spirit. In the procreation and education of children it reflects the Father's work of creation. It is called to partake of the prayer and sacrifice of Christ. Daily prayer and the reading of the Word of God strengthen it in charity. The Christian family has an evangelizing and missionary task.
@martlut While I understand your debate tactics and ongoing attempt to shift onus, I'm not playing.
Yes, the priesthood of the day was engaged in selling sacrificial animals at markup on the temple grounds.
The people had to pay high prices to gain access to god as it were. No money, no sacrifice. That's what the money changers were doing at the temple. And that's why there is no priest class in the Church age. You had to invent one and can't explain that little problem.
2183 "If because of lack of a sacred minister or for other grave cause participation in the celebration of the Eucharist is impossible, it is specially recommended that the faithful take part in the Liturgy of the Word if it is celebrated in the parish church or in another sacred place according to the prescriptions of the diocesan bishop, or engage in prayer for an appropriate amount of time personally or in a family or, as occasion offers, in groups of families."120
2098 The acts of faith, hope, and charity enjoined by the first commandment are accomplished in prayer. Lifting up the mind toward God is an expression of our adoration of God: prayer of praise and thanksgiving, intercession and petition. Prayer is an indispensable condition for being able to obey God's commandments. "[We] ought always to pray and not lose heart."15
2135 "You shall worship the Lord your God" (Mt 4:10). Adoring God, praying to him, offering him the worship that belongs to him, fulfilling the promises and vows made to him are acts of the virtue of religion which fall under obedience to the first commandment.
2121 Simony is defined as the buying or selling of spiritual things.53 To Simon the magician, who wanted to buy the spiritual power he saw at work in the apostles, St. Peter responded: "Your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain God's gift with money!"54 Peter thus held to the words of Jesus: "You received without pay, give without pay.
"55 It is impossible to appropriate to oneself spiritual goods and behave toward them as their owner or master, for they have their source in God. One can receive them only from him, without payment.
2122 The minister should ask nothing for the administration of the sacraments beyond the offerings defined by the competent authority, always being careful that the needy are not deprived of the help of the sacraments because of their poverty."56 The competent authority determines these "offerings" in accordance with the principle that the Christian people ought to contribute to the support of the Church's ministers. "The laborer deserves his food."57
So THE biggest advantage of Christianity is being able to go directly to God and you directly undermine this. Catholicism needs people to be dominated by a priest class. But, this is what the incident at the temple had been about - the priests selling righteousness at a markup - preventing people from gaining access to forgiveness. In Christianity, this can't happen. In Catholicism, it is relied upon.
@havoc092 Oh restoring to outright insanity now Dominated by a Priest what quackery selling righteousness delusional well that's what funnies are delusional quacks still haven't answered any of those questions resorting to this nonsense now
Since when have Catholics embraced the faith of Christ? And WHICH Christ? You've redefined Christ as an angry party that cannot be approached directly. You therefore teach it is better to ask saints or Mary to approach on your behalf. This is not only unscriptural, it is in violation of scripture. Further, a big part of the reason that there is no priesthood class in Christianity is so that the individual CAN approach God on his own and not be stymied by a priest.
"You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace."
The only reason they were in God's grace was because they had accepted a gospel which leads one to trust in Christ only(which the catholic gospel does not)
@LiftAloft ...............For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[e] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
What we believe in addition to the gospel that the apostles preached and what we trust in in addition to Jesus Christ does matter or there would have been no reason for the book of Galatians.
@LiftAloft The Catholic gospel is not the gospel of Jesus Christ and it cannot save any who accept it. God chose a specific message to save men which is why Paul wrote,
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.........
@ttsqas well If the Catholic Gospel inst the Gospel of Jesus Christ you better throw away your Bible especially that KJV which was directly translated from the Latin Vulgate Rofl
@LiftAloft They indeed trust in those things and do not believe that Christ work on the cross and the grace of God is sufficient. You seem to be confusing belief with faith. Read Galatians and you will find that when one adds other things to the gospel even things which come from God's OT scripture they are perverting the gospel and that such a perverted gospel cannot save because all it does is cause people to change their habits but they are not changed.
@ttsqas Gee and I always thought Catholics Believe in Grace alone for salvation and Grace brings forth Faith which both are Gifts seems you got a problem with adding other things to the bible such as faith alone bible alone and osas all man made traditions ROFL
LiftAloft if Catholics trusted in Christ's work on the cross then there would be no Catholic sect. Most Catholics and Protestants do things beyond trustng in Christ for the same reason that the Pharisees followed traditions of men; because they believe that they are necessary for justification. Those other things are in fact part of the gospel of the Catholic church which they have accepted and not part of the gospel which the apostles preached.
@ttsqas I respectfully disagree. Tradition has played a large role in religion so I agree it gets in the way of the Gospel. I can agree because I come from a Jewish background where I was (and many in my family still are) hanging tight to the traditions of religion rather than God, Himself.
This being said... if any Catholic follows Catholic tradition but has acknowledged their sinfulness and believes in the Gospel, that is enough. It is then God's job to sanctify, but He has justified.
@LiftAloft " if any Catholic follows Catholic tradition but has acknowledged their sinfulness and believes in the Gospel"
If a Catholic or Protestant trusts in traditions of man for justification they are not justified by God because their faith is not in Christ.
With all due respect, following a traditions and trusting in it for salvation are two different things and you seem to fail to recognize the distinction.
@LiftAloft I practice Christmas but I do not believe that if one does not then they are not justified. However their are tradtitions which both Catholics and Protestants follow and trust in and beleieve that one cannot be justified unless they do also. This is the type of tradition of men which Jesus addressed and one cannot follow them and be justified.
@ttsqas Yup your sure are guilty every time you go to church on Sunday celebrate Xmass Believe in the Trinity ect all traditions from so called men and the Biggest of all The Bible which was put together by men ROFL what a dufous
@LiftAloft The one problem that I see with your construction is that the mere thought that one must add to what Christ did is blasphemous and a denial of that faith which is needed for salvation. If Christ didn't fulfill it alone, there is no salvation.
Catholic Church is based on traditions and the Bible. We don't pray TO SAINTS. We pray through them to God/Jesus. We have Popes because Christ made Peter the first Pope. Everything has a traditional significance and it's beautiful if you take time to research it. Not every Catholic agrees with everything the Church teaches, i.e., birth control, abortion, etc. It is the oldest form of religion in the world. As long as one believes in Jesus as our savior and obeys commandments, so what?
@dawnmarie28 Just A Couple Of The 10 Commandments: Do Not Worship Any Other Gods, Do Not Make Any Idols; Dude Just Admitted That Catholics Pray To Marry & Other Saints/ Idols! I Have Catholic Friends They Admit The Same!
@martlut satan has a lot of blind and ignorant people believing that without the catholic sect we would have no Bible.
These blind people worship the catholic sect rather than God.
The truth is that if it were not for God we would not have the Bible since he inspire it to be written and not by one Catholic because neither those who wrote the Old or New Testaments were Catholic.
I would suggest that you return to answers.yahoo.com to plagarize more thoughts of others

I would simply ask These Sola Scriptura Protestants Where exactly did they get the Bible that they claim is the sole rule of Faith??
contrada41 1 week ago
If anyone says that a Catholic does not have real faith (I mean a practicing Catholic), then it is a reflection of that person's ignorance. If anyone says that Catholics know nothing about the Bible, that is gross misinformation by people who know nothing about Catholics. Scripture is proclaimed daily (typically starting with a passage from Old Testament, a Psalm, an Epistle and then a Gospel) at Mass. For devout Catholics that cannot attend daily, they are encouraged to do the readings at home
Jays1fan1 1 week ago

Just a question what's the point of this argument? In all curiosity
ekow777 2 months ago
Ok first of all just because a church has a cross does not mean they are christian there are kids these days who have crosses on their shirt because now days its the fashion idk why and the mormon church says its christian because it has jesus name in their church name and say they believe in jesus is their savior BUT you still have to work to get to live with god. This world is very deceptive
bobbyraejohnson 2 months ago
@bobbyraejohnson Catholics agree in the exact same Nicene Creed that I believe in. Mormons do not.
LiftAloft 2 months ago
@LiftAloft The Nicean Creed IS Catholicism ;)
Don't you know what St Athanasius wrote down?
"Haec est fides catholica, quam nisi quisque fideliter firmiterque crediderit, salvus esse non poterit." (This is the Catholic Faith; which except a man believe truly and firmly, he cannot be saved.)
It is the Catholic Church who made the divinity of Christ a DOGMA, against heretics such as Arius. It is the Church who proclaimed the Trinity, the human-divine nature of Christ, etc etc.
Gazdo01 1 month ago
Just because the name "Christian" isn't anywhere in the word "Catholic" is a stupid way to define it. Then Pentecostals aren't, either... nor Baptists... not Methodists... nor Evangelicals..
For those who have the doubt, go to Mass. You will change your mind. Do not be afraid. Everyone is welcome to the Last Supper. No one will kick you out.
ChrisDaron 3 months ago
Whether your catholic or Protestant, God does NOT look at the church you attend, he rather looks at the heart and soul. You can attend a catholic church and be an amazing servant to God same for protestants. Matter fact you don't even HAVE to go to church (Although it is a very good way to fellowship) in order for you to receive the joy of the lord and the eternal life
May God be with all of you
ekow777 3 months ago

God help us all.
jebeja 4 months ago
before discussing whether a person or a church is christian, people need to define what they regard as the requirements for being a christian. the persons who refer to themselves as "christian" disagree among themselves in regard to what the requirements for being a "christian" are. likewise, the persons who call themselves "jews" disagree among themselves in regard to what the requirements for being a "jew" are.

The problem is catholics believe that faith is only part of what you need to do to get to Heaven. The Bible says that only faith will get you to Heaven. Titus 3:5, Ephesians 2:8-9 & John 3:36, John 6:47
EIGHTYNINENINERS 4 months ago
@EIGHTYNINENINERS --If the bible said we are saved by faith alone, why does the bible say "Faith, hope, and charity, and the greatest of these is charity". Faith + good works + hope = heaven !!!
WorldBibleUnion454 4 months ago
@WorldBibleUnion454 the same reason Jesus said that you need His mercy and faith in HIM to enter Heaven. If you trust in your works you will go to hell because you are saying you don't need God and therefore your sins are not forgiven!
EIGHTYNINENINERS 4 months ago
@EIGHTYNINENINERS - Catholics do not say that they do not need God. First thing Catholics say is that you have to have faith in God to go to heaven. On the top of that you should do good works that God commanded us to do e.g. love neighbors, feed the poor etc. Faith + Works is what Catholics teach, not faith alone nor works alone.
So, if faith saves, Catholics will be saved.
mysteriumaenigma 4 months ago
@mysteriumaenigma The "Sola" rubbish is actually heresy, for you are putting your life on a book... A BOOK which doesn't even support that theory.
If ONLY faith were enough, then the devil would be saved.
You need faith, YES... but you also need WORKS.

@ChrisDaron - Hello, I am Catholic. So, I do not believe in Bible only theory.
mysteriumaenigma 3 months ago
@ChrisDaron You are wrong. You don't need good works to be saved. You are saved to do the good works of God. Saved first by faith in Jesus, then expected to do the good works of God. Good works are the fruits of salvation. Not good works to be put on God's weighing scale to see if you have done enough good to be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.”
opsvideo2008 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 So when Jesus asks us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick, etc... he was just kidding?
Be careful, pal.... you're following Luther's idea, not Christ's.
Those who believe that only faith will save them are FOOLISH and IGNORANT. Read James. If "believing" were the Alpha and the Omega, then... even Satan would be saved.
Once again, Luther's idea fails.
ChrisDaron 1 month ago
@ChrisDaron After you read James, I encourage you to read Galatians.
LiftAloft 1 month ago
@ChrisDaron I don't want to repeat myself. Salvation is not earned by good works but by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Christians are saved to do the good works of the God, not the other way around. After a person has been saved by faith in Christ, of course he is expected next to do the good works of God but the good works didn't save him in the first place. It was Jesus death that saved him. So simple but yet so difficult for catholics to understand. You people are blind.
opsvideo2008 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 It's not about you repeating. It;s about you understanding the Bible.
"You people are blind" says the Protestant who belong to one of the thousands little sects led by a MAN, which is heresy....
Right.
ChrisDaron 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 And if Luther's theory of "Sola Fidei" is right, then Catholics are saved first and foremost. Yet Protestants keep attacking us with their nonsense.Protestant theories fail every time.
ChrisDaron 1 month ago
@ChrisDaron You've poor understanding of christian history. While the protestant faith is a true christian faith which upholds the sovereignity of the bible as God's infallible word, it is an offshoot that broke from the catholic faith through Martin Luther who was a former catholic priest himself. Apart fromt catholicism and protestantism, the true churches of God have always existed in parallel in history & they were the ones who were persecuted by the roman catholic inquisition.
opsvideo2008 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 "True" faith? yeah, with so many sects that don't agree with one another, I'm sure it's ONE of those what Christ Himself founded....
And Catholics were persecuted during the Reformation, too... You did know about it, right? Popes were killed, anyone who was Catholic was murdered by Protestants all over Europe.
True faith? sure... True heresy actually.
ChrisDaron 1 month ago
@ChrisDaron It is very simple. Whichever protestant denominations believe the bible is the authoritative word of God which has final say in the affairs of the believer & that Christ is the only Saviour of the world, they are the true churches of God. Whichever other, then they are not of God even though they may claim to be so. The main fact you should remember is that your catholic church killed >50 million believers over the centuries in the name of God, which makes it evil..
opsvideo2008 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 "Whichever protestant denominations believe the bible [...] & that Christ is the only Saviour of the world"
Problem is they ALL believe that. Name me one church who doesn't profess the authority of the Bible or that Christ is the Saviour of the world?
I hope you realize it was the CATHOLIC CHURCH who first assembled the Bible and declared it to be the "Word of God"??
/watch?v=rxv1xU1ZOdM
Gazdo01 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 So then it's all about whatever group that "Believes" in the Bible (which, by the way, was written by the HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH) is the church that Jesus might have founded? Like... many, many? because in the Bible, He specifically founded ONE, and He founded on Peter.
Then those denominations (a word that isn't even in the Bible... it's absolutely man-made) killed Catholics just for being Catholics, which ISN'T evil, correct?
It is funny.
ChrisDaron 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 Some Protestants do believe that the Catholic Church IS the Church of Jesus, but then Luther had to come to "fix" a few things... some other believe that their individual little sect that from Christ (which contradicts the Bible.) Some have the Bible as their only authority (silly kids don't realize the Bible is a CATHOLIC document) and being guided by the Bible itself is HERESY, and nowhere in the Bible does it say we should do so.
So... I guess you Protestants need to talk =)
ChrisDaron 1 month ago
@ChrisDaron The protestants who believe the catholic church is of Jesus is wrong & have been seduced by the catholic church through its ecumenical propaganda. Martin Luther, a former catholic priest & a highly educated german professor had access to the Scriptures at a time when the catholic church was forbidding the catholic faithful from reading the bible themselves for fear they would find out the truths. Luther exposed the catholic church for its heresies & the rest is history.
opsvideo2008 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 Educated? yeah, I don't think educated people get drunk and throw their feces at a temple.
And I've made my point: you Protestants are very divided. You have thousands of different denominations. Jesus specifically says He founded ONE CHURCH. No Protestant denomination can be traced to Jesus AT ALL. Therefore, Protestatism is HERESY, IMPURE, LYING, and UNCHRISTIAN.
The Holy Catholic Church remains the same ever since the year 33, my friend.
ChrisDaron 1 month ago
@ChrisDaron You now show your blind loyalty to your church in preference to the truth that Martin Luther was indeed a former catholic priest and a german professor of theology at the Wittenberg university. Your blind & unquestioning loyalty to your catholic church & your hatred of Luther has distorted your perception of truth just as they have caused you to be blind to the historical truth that your beloved church blasphemously slaughtered > 50 million believers in the name of God.
opsvideo2008 4 weeks ago
@opsvideo2008 What cracks me up and you and the rest of the Protestants is that you keep pointing THE SAME even when we keep explaining.... You guys have no arguments whatsoever.... What I'm replying to is what I replied two like two or three days ago or longer than that.
I'm dealing with a Protestant, after all.... Born protesting... will die protesting.
ChrisDaron 4 weeks ago
@ChrisDaron The reason we keep pointing to the same gross crimes committed by your so called "church" is simply because you have constantly buried your head into the sand & refused to acknowledge them. And if you have the guts to acknowledge them, then you would have admitted indirectly that no true church of God would killed millions in the name of God when God Himself said in the 5th commandment..."Thou shall not kill." You are in denial & we're not talking about paedophilia yet.
opsvideo2008 4 weeks ago
@opsvideo2008 It's not "my" Church. It's Christ's.
You keep telling me the same....
It's boring.
ChrisDaron 4 weeks ago
@opsvideo2008 Talk to me about all Popes who have becomes saints... talk to me about how many Protestants have become saints... yes, NONE because Protestantism has NOTHING to do with the Church Jesus founded. Talk to me about denying His Precious Blood and Flesh (which there's no Eternal Life without.) Talk to me about the many, little theories and philosophies of the many Protestant Sects,
Talk to me about why all Protestant leaders are MEN and NOT JESUS.
ChrisDaron 4 weeks ago
ChrisDaron 4 weeks ago
@ChrisDaron You are truly in the full bloom of denial when you say the killing of true believers (>50 million victims) during the roman catholic inquisition and the worldwide paedophilia committed by catholic priests (America, Canada, South America, Ireland, Germany, Holland, Italy, Austria, Australia, etc...) are protestant lies. Please lay aside your blind loyalty to your catholic church, open your eyes wide, surf the internet and youtube, and maybe you will see the truth.
opsvideo2008 4 weeks ago
@opsvideo2008 The so-called "Truth"... that every protestant sect claims to have.... how many truths are we talking about here? 40, 000?
Nah. Call me "blind".. I am in the Church Jesus established. The rest is just Satan's work.
ChrisDaron 4 weeks ago
@opsvideo2008 Based on this logic, we should bring down the entire Christian Church and most governments. Much of the "inquisition" was carried out by over-zealous government officials and village communities, using religion to manipulate their own ends, and I don't think there is a major Christian denomination that isn't facing charges of pedophelia somewhere (a heinous crime no matter who). Yep, that means Protestant churches too. Just saying...
Jays1fan1 1 week ago
@Jays1fan1 You've missed the point. You've got your historical facts wrong because the roman catholic inquisition was ordered & initiated by none other than the catholic popes themselves, to stamp out any bible believer who did believe as they do. The false charge used was these people were "heretics" Since when did the God & Jesus of the bible say could torture & murder people in the name of God? It makes the catholics leadership of that time murderers, and you a blind apologist.
opsvideo2008 1 week ago
@opsvideo2008 Actually, I'm not inaccurate in who carried out many of the torturous acts of the inquisition. I never denied that the orders of the inquisition (to stamp out heretical views) was issued by the Church.
Jays1fan1 1 week ago
@opsvideo2008 In my travels throughout Europe and studies in European history, several sites I visited that were the locations of the inquisition were not churches, but government buildings. Orders of torture were not being made by bishops only, but largely by government officials. In small towns, villagers often declared themselves judges and jury and zealously used the inquisition to stamp out who they felt were "undesirable".
Jays1fan1 1 week ago
@Jays1fan1 Again you show your blind apologist mentality when you conveniently blind yourself to the fact the catholic church is the only religious organization whose top leadership conceals the sexual crimes of their catholic priests by knowingly transferring the paedophile priests from parish to parish to avoid detection, without any concern whatsoever to the children they will raping again. And this is done on a worlwide basis while at the same time preaching morality to others.
opsvideo2008 1 week ago
@opsvideo2008 The Catholic Church is not the only religious organization that has made mistakes in how to handle issues of paedophilia amongst its clergy. There are certainly other churches facing their own scandals (i.e. Anglican Church). These churches have not done better. The internal transferring of priests is WRONG! No doubt. Clearly a breakdown in parts of the Church; however with over 300 000 priests in the world, it is not fair to call the entire Church rotten.
Jays1fan1 1 week ago
@Jays1fan1 You don't realise that while other religious organization may possibly have their paedophilia issues, it is treated on an individual, case by case basis by the local church. These organizations do not deliberately & systematically cover-up their sexual crimes on a worldwide basis. Their top officials will never transfer the paedophiles from one church to the next & hide these crimes from the authorities. The catholic church is the only one in the world doing such a thing.

@ChrisDaron Weighing all the facts of the case, the summary of the truth is this.....mass murder of true believers (50 million people) by the roman catholic inquisition + worldwide paedophilia committed by catholic priests + additional man-made books in the bible (Apocrypha) + man-made doctrines going against bible teaching = zero spiritual credibility = false church of God + false canon of the bible.
opsvideo2008 4 weeks ago
@ChrisDaron God already revealed in Revelation 17:6....." I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. " While this book was being written in the 1st century AD, God already foresaw what would happen and who would be killing the saints and the matyrs of Jesus. The historical fact is >50 million people were killed by the catholic church during the roman catholic inquisition.
opsvideo2008 4 weeks ago
@opsvideo2008 See? there's no talking to you. A toddler pays more attention than any Protestants. I call Protestants "Autistic" kids because they don't listen. They won't understand.
Another Protestant.... the same, old arguments. I wonder if Luther was like that, too...
ChrisDaron 4 weeks ago
@ChrisDaron You cannot refute the fulfilled prophecy of God's word in Revelation 17 :6 about the harlot (false church) " who was drunk with the blood of the saints and the matyrs of Jesus " ; of her being the roman catholic church. 50 million believers died since the papal Inquisition was formally instituted by Pope Gregory IX in 1231. Your best defence is pathetic name-calling when you cannot refute this truth. "Same, old arguments" you say but nevertheless they are TRUE.
opsvideo2008 3 weeks ago
@opsvideo2008 You do realize that the Book of Revelations was written in a literary form that heavily relied on symbolism to deliver the message of Jesus' great salvation to a people being severely persecuted? Many of Jesus disciples, by this point had been martyred defending their belief in Christ. How do you understand this statement (taken severly out of context) to mean the inquisition? Time to crack scripture again with some real referencing and not reading with your own jaded perspective.
Jays1fan1 1 week ago
@ChrisDaron With all due respect, it is not appropriate to speak so disrespectfully to any Christain denomination about the founder of their church or the tenets of faith they have evolved. Has it been done to you by someone from a Protestant church? I'm sure or you wouldn't be reacting this way. However, it is not Christian to act in such a way in return. As a Catholic, I'm asking you to remember to turn your cheek and respectfully correct misinformation that exists about Catholics out there.
Jays1fan1 1 week ago
@opsvideo2008 "After a person has been saved by faith in Christ, of course he is expected next to do the good works of God but the good works didn't save him in the first place. It was Jesus death that saved him."
That is EXACTLY Catholic Faith.
I challenge you to find ANYWHERE in the Cathechism where the Church teaches otherwise. Good luck... (sic)

Let no one do anything touching the Church, apart from the bishop
martlut 6 months ago

@MrGhettown "So you are basically saying that you can have "have faith" and keep on sinning willingly?"
Nope.
LiftAloft 1 year ago

@MrGhettown So bowing down means to worship to you??
Man, then Asians are such worshipers of each others! Hahahahaha
ChrisDaron 3 months ago
@MrGhettown You sir are a complete fool and ignorant of Catholicism. Here are a couple of points you've made:
1. "being an idolater" To IDOLIZE is to be mistaken about God's nature, and to worship what has been created (matter, ideas, finite beings, etc) as God. Catholics know God is an immaterial being. We know that God is BEING in itself (Ex 3.14). Therefore, it is impossible for us to IDOLIZE whatsoever.
Gazdo01 2 months ago
@MrGhettown 2. "bowing down before statues and worshiping?"
The english langage is very poor. It doesn't make a diffrence between the different "worships" there are. Please learn about LATRIA (which is ONLY DUE TO GOD) and DULIA, which is the way we HONOR past saints, who have live a holy life, and have let Jesus be the master of their life.
According to Aristotle, there are two realities "connecting" with an image. Either it is directed to the image itself or to what it REPRESENTS.
Gazdo01 2 months ago
@MrGhettown 3. "adding works to salvation?"
James 2.17-24 ; Rm 2.13, 8.13 ; Gal 5.6, 5.19-24 ; 1 Cor 6.9-11 ; Mt 7.21, 7.24-27 ; Lk 6.46 ETC
Gazdo01 2 months ago
Gazdo01 2 months ago

And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” You have already fallen into the " ditch ".
opsvideo2008 1 month ago
@opsvideo2008 "When you start to lean on men such as your cathlic church, church fathers & catechism to tell you what the true gospel is all about"
I do this for a couple of reasons
1. Jesus founded His Church on Peter and promised him it would last forever, infaillable (Mt 16.18-19)
2. It's the only way to go if the Christian community wants to be ONE, as Jesus demanded (Jn 17.22)
I don't rely on men, I rely on the Holy Spirit who guides these men.
Might I suggest this /watch?v=RWYwBDqFsuE

I'm sorry but I get annoyed when Catholics claim they have been around since the days of the apostles and yet Catholicism only came into existence sometime after the year 300AD. Catholics say that the apostle Peter was the first pope and yet the word "pope" cannot even be located anywhere in the bible, neither can the word "catholic." If Christianity truly comes from God, then Christianity is only what He says it is.

what churches does this remind you of there is no church hierarchy no priests, ministers, vicars, deans, or popes. When a Muslim prays he prays directly to God not through any intermediary. When he serves God he is not serving an institution but God alone. Every human being is individually responsible for their own actions and their own beliefs. No one can take that responsibility away from you. Oh yes the Muslims

In Titus 1:5, Paul tells Titus: "For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldst set in order the things that are wanting, and shouldst ordain priests in every city, as I also appointed thee."
martlut 1 year ago
@martlut What bible version are you quoting? Is it your own version ? Because if you look at other major English versions, there is no mention of "priests" as in the verses you quoted. For e.g. Titus 1:5 of the KJV says..." For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thous shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain ELDERS (not "priests" as you wrongly say) in every city, as I had appointed thee :.." Even the corrupted NIV version says it is ELDERS. Please be credible.
opsvideo2008 1 year ago
In James 5:14-15 we read: "Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil, in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man; and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him."
martlut 1 year ago
@martlut It is the same with James 5:14-15, KJV says ..."Is there any sick among you? let him call for the ELDERS of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;..." There is no mention of the special position of priests in the New Testament church. All christians are priests unto God as is taught by the bible in 1 Peter 2:9 that says ..." But you are a chosen generation, a royal PRIESTHOOD, a holy nation, His own special people, ....."

So be credible in your quotation of Scripture; otherwise you show yourself to be a liar.

Paul tells us that because he has been given a calling as a professional minister of Christ, he has a priestly duty of preaching the gospel so that the Gentiles may be an offering—a sacrifice to God.

Of course, I'm certain you will next protest that you can't figure out Google, so that must be an anti-catholic conspiracy..

@LiftAloft Paul said to the Galatian church,
"You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace."
The only reason they were in God's grace was because they had accepted a gospel which leads one to trust in Christ only(which the catholic gospel does not)
ttsqas 1 year ago
@ttsqas paul also said 13(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified
martlut 1 year ago
@LiftAloft ...............For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[e] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
What we believe in addition to the gospel that the apostles preached and what we trust in in addition to Jesus Christ does matter or there would have been no reason for the book of Galatians.
ttsqas 1 year ago
@LiftAloft The Catholic gospel is not the gospel of Jesus Christ and it cannot save any who accept it. God chose a specific message to save men which is why Paul wrote,
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.........
ttsqas 1 year ago
@ttsqas well If the Catholic Gospel inst the Gospel of Jesus Christ you better throw away your Bible especially that KJV which was directly translated from the Latin Vulgate Rofl
martlut 1 year ago
@LiftAloft They indeed trust in those things and do not believe that Christ work on the cross and the grace of God is sufficient. You seem to be confusing belief with faith. Read Galatians and you will find that when one adds other things to the gospel even things which come from God's OT scripture they are perverting the gospel and that such a perverted gospel cannot save because all it does is cause people to change their habits but they are not changed.
ttsqas 1 year ago
@ttsqas Gee and I always thought Catholics Believe in Grace alone for salvation and Grace brings forth Faith which both are Gifts seems you got a problem with adding other things to the bible such as faith alone bible alone and osas all man made traditions ROFL
martlut 1 year ago
LiftAloft if Catholics trusted in Christ's work on the cross then there would be no Catholic sect. Most Catholics and Protestants do things beyond trustng in Christ for the same reason that the Pharisees followed traditions of men; because they believe that they are necessary for justification. Those other things are in fact part of the gospel of the Catholic church which they have accepted and not part of the gospel which the apostles preached.
ttsqas 1 year ago
@ttsqas I respectfully disagree. Tradition has played a large role in religion so I agree it gets in the way of the Gospel. I can agree because I come from a Jewish background where I was (and many in my family still are) hanging tight to the traditions of religion rather than God, Himself.
This being said... if any Catholic follows Catholic tradition but has acknowledged their sinfulness and believes in the Gospel, that is enough. It is then God's job to sanctify, but He has justified.
LiftAloft 1 year ago 2
@LiftAloft " if any Catholic follows Catholic tradition but has acknowledged their sinfulness and believes in the Gospel"
If a Catholic or Protestant trusts in traditions of man for justification they are not justified by God because their faith is not in Christ.
With all due respect, following a traditions and trusting in it for salvation are two different things and you seem to fail to recognize the distinction.
ttsqas 1 year ago
@LiftAloft I practice Christmas but I do not believe that if one does not then they are not justified. However their are tradtitions which both Catholics and Protestants follow and trust in and beleieve that one cannot be justified unless they do also. This is the type of tradition of men which Jesus addressed and one cannot follow them and be justified.
ttsqas 1 year ago
@LiftAloft I do want to make it clear that manyCatholics and Protestants are gulity of trusting in traditions of men.
ttsqas 1 year ago
@ttsqas Yup your sure are guilty every time you go to church on Sunday celebrate Xmass Believe in the Trinity ect all traditions from so called men and the Biggest of all The Bible which was put together by men ROFL what a dufous
martlut 1 year ago
@LiftAloft The one problem that I see with your construction is that the mere thought that one must add to what Christ did is blasphemous and a denial of that faith which is needed for salvation. If Christ didn't fulfill it alone, there is no salvation.
havoc092 1 year ago
@havoc092 since when do Catholics deny the Faith Christ taught its more than one line of scripture ya know we add nothing you take away sorry
martlut 1 year ago
Catholic Church is based on traditions and the Bible. We don't pray TO SAINTS. We pray through them to God/Jesus. We have Popes because Christ made Peter the first Pope. Everything has a traditional significance and it's beautiful if you take time to research it. Not every Catholic agrees with everything the Church teaches, i.e., birth control, abortion, etc. It is the oldest form of religion in the world. As long as one believes in Jesus as our savior and obeys commandments, so what?
dawnmarie28 10 months ago
@dawnmarie28 Just A Couple Of The 10 Commandments: Do Not Worship Any Other Gods, Do Not Make Any Idols; Dude Just Admitted That Catholics Pray To Marry & Other Saints/ Idols! I Have Catholic Friends They Admit The Same!
