Iam a recently retired 20 Yrs from the Canadian forces....and it really disturbs me that alot of people here have to argue what Country is better....Canada VS the US. just remember this......... UNITED WE STAND DEVIDED WE FALL!

Canadians did a allot of first war attics.

1) First to communicate from air to ground.

2) First to defeat German gas attack and hold frontline!!!

3) First to use tank in a night battle defeating the SS elite tank commander and Panther tanks!!

4) Our country Canada was the ONLY country to land on given location on D-day & face and defeated the SS again!!!

5) And so on!!!

Canada played a small roll LOF BIG ROLL more like it!!!

I believe the so called "Americans" that are rude and/or ignorant towards Canadians and what role they played in both WWI and WWII even if we didn't do as much as other countries did, we played a part in that, even though it wasn't our war. They are the ignorant ones who are which uneducated.

Amen to that brother. I was in the Canadian Army and I can honestly say the Americans are good guys. I've spent alot of time on US military bases and they were very, very good to us. They treated us like family.

He was explaining that the soldiers had been "shown" maps but could not recognize what the purpose of the map was. They had never been taught what the map meant, how it related to the ground they were to cross.

The Canadian Armed forces is but a reserve. Canadan forces are Peace keepers, keeping out of the wars.

50,000? Yeah right. Our REG Force is larger than that. Then factor in the reservists...

Try at least TWICE that.

And don't badmouth the training, we are the BEST trained soldiers of NATO. The Americans had staff over at CFLRS St. Jean earlier in the year to learn how we do it.

I had good grades, and it generally helps when you take certain courses.

Example being medics would do well to have Biology. It makes life a lot easier.

To tell the truth though, as long as you have a Grade 10 you should be able to get in for something. A higher education is alway much better, same with grades, so don't stop studying or whatnot.

Knowledge always comes in handy.

Besides, everything turns into a desk job once you get enough stripes, so I wouldn't worry ;)

Yeah i was considering being a medic or a reserve for sometime (and I am in Biology 11), but taking training in somewhere other than BC (my home province) dosen't really appeal to me :P

I can help you perfectly with Medical. Reg Force anyhow, reserve units do their own thing, and reserve medics require additional training prior to going reg force

Medic QL3s are in CFB Borden (Ontario), then followed by Chiliwack in BC. Chiliwack being the fun part ;)

Seeing all of Canada is one of the perks of the job
