the key to burning fat and building muscle you need to be on a caloric defiit of no more than 500 calories each day, taking into consideration that you are eating six small meals with only complex carbs, vegetables and lean protein, it is possible, BUT EXTREMELY HARD, and dont expect to gain tons of muscle while burning fat, you would gain very little muscle while burning fat, but you need to weigh every single bite of food you put in your mouth

I think if your lifting right at the gym, eating ALOT, but really healthy, and you have a high body fat%. You will burn fat and gain muscle. But if you are lui, thats really hard to do because your body is already near it's peak.
i strongly disagree,losing fat has been made out to be a complex system, your body is burning fat constantly, all throughout the day, fat is the number one source of energy for your muscles, carbs only take over when there is demand for intensity,ppl just do too much high intenisty cardio which burns more carbs instead of fat(increase cortisol),drop the weights because their "cutting" instead of pushing forward. and cut too much food, hence they lose muscle. too much broscience.
the only exceptions is if your body fat is under 7-10%,then losing fat becomes a bit mre complicated,also what majority of people dont knw is fat stores are located in the muscles so your muscles will undoubtedly shrink if you lose weight cause ur losing the fat inside your muscle (go to your local deli and see for yourself) its mind over matter, keep increasin ur weights, slightly decrease cals, and add some low intesnity cardio(to burn more fat than carbs) and you wil lose fat and gain muscle.

Luimarco I recently got the most important thing to me taken away: working out, why? Because apparently I have a swollen lymph node in the groin area. It feels like what a hernia probably would be, and it still could be one. I am going to get a second opinion from another doctor soon but just wanted to let you know that life sucks for me right now. Lui, i definitely don't have money for supplements, i mean any kind of them. I am 17 and can't get a job yet. Food is low and crappy to. I am an endomorph, i had a good amount of muscle and fat. Burned allot of fat, but that muscle to. I don't know what to do with the food is almost imposible to have even a 70 gr of protein per day. I don't really know what to do. Number 1) If you balance your carb intake just right, you can do it, its totally possible just very difficult. number 2) light weights to 'tone' because you're 'cutting' is total bs. fat loss makes you ripped.

It's possible.. I did this myself. I was 151 @ 23% body fat benching 110. I got down to 145 benched 120, down to 129 benched 135. I'm 5.5% BF at 143 now benching 165. All I did was eat like 25-50% of my fat DV and ate 1500-2000 calories from what I can remember.

usually beginners will gain muscle and lose fat at the same time for like the first couple months. Its a hard task to do its usually one or the other, gain muscle or lose fat.

@luimarco I think you are right on point on this video, however I think someone overweight who adds weight training will get in better shape than without it.
As far as I am concerned, there is scooby1961 who claims it is possible to do both at the same time with the usage of a minimal caloric deficit, 10% of TDEE. Then again, results would come much slower that way if the method works, as it is always easier to build muscle with a surplus caloric intake during "bulking".
@Laughnator. You can't really bash Scooby because a) he is pretty big and b) he is older. Different stuff works for different people beyond what any study says. Way beyond.
@Laughnator even for a guy whos never been in a gym before and who is 20% body fat, he can probably only tone or shape the muscle while hes losing his gut. hes not putting on any serious mass if hes trying to lose 40 pounds if you ask me,so i dont know what the hell scoobys talkin bout.

@Laughnator It is possible, but only for beginners, and even then it is not EFFICIENT. I have done it myself, but only for a short period of time, and it was very hard for my body. I flirted with overtraining every two weeks due to the calorie deficit and intense training, so I wouldn't recommend it.
If you wan't to know how I did it, send a personal message, however I don't recommend doing it.
I should add that it might not work for every beginner, or I don't know if it works for experienced bodybuilders or intermediate. I can only rely on my own personal experience, and it worked for me, but the price was higher than the benefit, so in my opinion it shouldn't be a relevant "topic" for natural bodybuilders, because it is basically not efficient.
@Scampern I believe scooby said that if u wanna lose fat/gain muscle u would have to have a very strict diet,every 3h meal full of protein,carbs...... and thats very hard for me to accomplish with my way of life because i sometimes dont have a time to cook veggies and other stuff. Bulking and Cutting is more simple option! I still eat very strict though ,Im JUNKFREE
@Laughnator That is basically what I did, I followed his advice. However I did eat more fat's than he recommends, because I felt very sluggish/tired with a low fat diet and a calorie deficit. And in addition the calorie deficit has to be SMALL, in order for it to work. I also limited my cardio according to my energy levels. I needed the energy levels to have intense weight training workouts.
That's good man, I am virtually junk free myself, except the weekends where I have some cheat meals.
@Laughnator Its definitely possible, but not when you're <11% BF and already muscular, its possible when youre 20%+ BF and never trained before. I love Lui but please don't hate on Scooby, he's been doing this for a LOT longer than most people here (Lui included).

However if you are just starting and are obese you can do both. I trained a guy who weighed 350 lbs. Over the course of 9 months he dropped to about 248 and increased in bench by about 70 lbs. Leg press increased by 200 lbs but he was a beginner and had an abundance of fat to lose. Just food for thought
Lui if you need to stay up late or wake up early i.e your day is shorter do you still eat at 3 hourly intervals and less meals meaning you get less nutrition for the day or do you eat more regularly, say every 2 hours to make sure you get all your meals in?
There is one natural supplement that's supposed to help burn fat and increase leanness. CLA. Tonalin is supposed to be the best quality. Haven't tried it yet but it's supposed to be good for a minor improvement.

It is your decision when you wanna start cutting..It depends what your goal is..For example im 195 pounds and I wanna end up about 190-195 pounds lean!!! So I would most likely bulk up to 205-210 pounds then thats when I would start to cut!!!You wont really look fat depending on your body type but if your a mesomorph like me you will look pretty stocky with a bulky look...Every body is different though...Hope this helped:D

Hi Lui, just wanted to thank you for your advices and motivation. I bought a scale that measures weight, bodyfat %, bodyfat weightm BMI etc. and in 11 day's i gained 2 pounds, but only 1 pound of fat so i must have gained 1 pound of muscles cause of the gym. Your videos helped me choose exercices and motivated me. Finally at 30 years old i am starting to move toward's getting out of that pathetic skinny shape ! Keep posting those videos you help people.

It's possible.. I did this myself. I was 151 @ 23% body fat benching 110. I got down to 145 benched 120, down to 129 benched 135. I'm 5.5% BF at 143 now benching 165. All I did was eat like 25-50% of my fat DV and ate 1500-2000 calories from what I can remember.

As far as I am concerned, there is scooby1961 who claims it is possible to do both at the same time with the usage of a minimal caloric deficit, 10% of TDEE. Then again, results would come much slower that way if the method works, as it is always easier to build muscle with a surplus caloric intake during "bulking".

@Laughnator It is possible, but only for beginners, and even then it is not EFFICIENT. I have done it myself, but only for a short period of time, and it was very hard for my body. I flirted with overtraining every two weeks due to the calorie deficit and intense training, so I wouldn't recommend it.
If you wan't to know how I did it, send a personal message, however I don't recommend doing it.

I should add that it might not work for every beginner, or I don't know if it works for experienced bodybuilders or intermediate. I can only rely on my own personal experience, and it worked for me, but the price was higher than the benefit, so in my opinion it shouldn't be a relevant "topic" for natural bodybuilders, because it is basically not efficient.

@Laughnator That is basically what I did, I followed his advice. However I did eat more fat's than he recommends, because I felt very sluggish/tired with a low fat diet and a calorie deficit. And in addition the calorie deficit has to be SMALL, in order for it to work. I also limited my cardio according to my energy levels. I needed the energy levels to have intense weight training workouts.
That's good man, I am virtually junk free myself, except the weekends where I have some cheat meals.

@Laughnator also depends on what stage of lifting you are in... Lui is not a begginer so it would be VERY hard for him to gain muscle and burn fat... However if you are just starting and are obese you can do both. I trained a guy who weighed 350 lbs. Over the course of 9 months he dropped to about 248 and increased in bench by about 70 lbs. Leg press increased by 200 lbs but he was a beginner and had an abundance of fat to lose. Just food for thought

Lui if you need to stay up late or wake up early i.e your day is shorter do you still eat at 3 hourly intervals and less meals meaning you get less nutrition for the day or do you eat more regularly, say every 2 hours to make sure you get all your meals in?

There is one natural supplement that's supposed to help burn fat and increase leanness. CLA. Tonalin is supposed to be the best quality. Haven't tried it yet but it's supposed to be good for a minor improvement.

It is your decision when you wanna start cutting..It depends what your goal is..For example im 195 pounds and I wanna end up about 190-195 pounds lean!!! So I would most likely bulk up to 205-210 pounds then thats when I would start to cut!!!You wont really look fat depending on your body type but if your a mesomorph like me you will look pretty stocky with a bulky look...Every body is different though...Hope this helped:D

Hi Lui, just wanted to thank you for your advices and motivation. I bought a scale that measures weight, bodyfat %, bodyfat weightm BMI etc. and in 11 day's i gained 2 pounds, but only 1 pound of fat so i must have gained 1 pound of muscles cause of the gym. Your videos helped me choose exercices and motivated me. Finally at 30 years old i am starting to move toward's getting out of that pathetic skinny shape ! Keep posting those videos you help people.
