its not about the war, the song was made in honor of the four students who were killed by the national gaurd in 1970 "soldiers are gunning us down, what if you knew her and, found her dead on the ground" "four dead in ohio" the remake is remembering what happened that day

I also like that the song has that sad sound -because- four people died. I'm in no way interested in anti-war movements of the time period...Plus I just love this band.
