What is amazing is that Goran Bregovic has stollen the local gipsy music compositions and presented it as his own. The Balkan Gipsys have been ripped off by numerous artists from Russia, Rumania,Hungaria,Bulgaria...Sp­ain, Italy just to name a few...so do not be fooled that G.Bregovic is original it is just that the gipsy music had never been copywrited and preserved by legalities

@festa30a u are not right. roma muski from balkan is influenced by many traditonal instruments and folk muski from different slavian peoples. u know that the roots of the roma is in india? i can't see not 1 traditional indian instrument... roma play that muski in their own way, touching the soul, getting u laugh or cry, dance or drink to coma. there is 10 mio roma, they are not asking for their own country. all they are roma, no matter in wich country they live. taking this style

I just went to his concert in cleveland last night. He was awesome!!! When he was done everyone wanted more, and he played for an extra 30 minutes!!! He's great!!

I went to a G.B. concert in Iasi, Romania in 2003. It was the best concert I've ever been to - the whole stadium was chair-dancing its head off & Arla, next to me, from Albania, was managing a decisive bit of belly-dancing, between the rickety benches.  Her way of expressing happiness. The whole place was happy & everyone I spoke to knew that he was from Serbia, Croatia maybe, & his band came from all over the place & made fabulous music that brought everyone together..
