I beat this game a long time ago on the Super Nintendo when it first came out in the US, it's not THAT hard, depends on your skills, and yes.. it was a bit too much like super mario bros 1 graphically.

The didn't have 2 years to make the game like the others, plus the NES was brand new so it wasn't that big of a deal at the time.

Psh, when I was ten I beat the SNES version of the Lost Levels with the secret worlds.

I almost threw my SNES out the window, but that isn't the point. The original NES version I never even beat without using the inifnite one-up trick lol.

For some reason people tend to forget this game when they discuss the hardest NES games. The first level here is really on par with the last levels in the original, it´s crazy.

SMB2 added one thing to the series, that is when you jump on an enemy and press the jump button when you land on him you can bounce high in the air, that was not in the orginal and has been in all most Mario games since

I forgot to add the reason why they swapped the sprites. it was to suit the theme of the festival but Super Mario Bros. 2 was still made by nintendo and shigeru miyamoto was the producer and director.

Far beter than US Super Mario 2. Although, that game isn't bad by any means. These kids kind of ruin the review as do most little kids ruin things when they try to be funny. Stick to solo reviews for the time being, WiiViewer!

Anyway, this game blows Super Mario 2 US version out of the water. It is challenging but not impossible. When these kids are older and aren't wimps they will agree with me. This game is a MUST BUY!
