She's my friend!!! She coached me for 10 days with Amanda Weir and her coach I even got to swim with her. My friend who is the fastest on the team was so mad that someone was faster than her!!! I love you Kate!!!

Janet set the record of 15:52.10 on March 26, 1998. She was 16 when she set the record. Kate was 18 when she broke it. For both Janet and Kate it is a National Age Group Record as well as a World Record.

Congrats Kate!!! Amazing accomplishment! Wow, I knew her back when she was a little girl in the kiddie pool at Hunter Mill. Her sister was in my age group and we swam together. I had no idea that someday she'd SMASH the oldest swimming world record!! I know what I'll be watching in summer 2008!
