Braino, thats not true what they say. Hardly Davisins are pieces of shit. They are under powered, over priced, and they are unreliable. Any of the Japanese motorcycles are better than the Hardlys! Take it from experience. Ride a Hardly, and you will see how shitty they are.
The Harley is ver reliable, especialy the new bikes.
There are not a lot of racers that keep up with the Harley, in speed of course they will overrun me . They are not overpriced but are in the same price class as a Jap . Example in Europe the Honda shadow costs about 8000 Euro the Sportster cost about 8000 euro .
A bike is a bike Ride it and Enjoy the ride whatever it is.
Im kinda jealous of you guys I gotta Shadow saber 1100 I got v&h long shots and they dont sound even close to a h&d 750S got a great sound although Id kick your ass LOL
Haha Harley is screwed. Now Honda makes the same look as Harley (except way more dependable) and you can get the SAME loud sound that people buy Harleys for in the first place.
its not that harleys idle lower, its that they run cams with a tighter LCA so there is more overlap and therefore more of a "lopey" sound that people expect out of a V-twin... that being said my shadow 750 has no problems pulling away from 883 sportsters. i do love harleys as much as the next guy but they are made with alot of old technology and they just can't compete with the jap cruisers when it comes to performance.
So I have a question. A bunch of fat redneck harley owners are telling me that Honda shadows are shitty road cruiser bikes, harleys are better and that shadows chrome is just chrome plated plastic. Is this true?
The headlight, aircover, turnsignal,... are all of chrome coverd plastic, but this is the case in most bikes even in the new Harley bikes .
I also own a Harley and must disagree that Honda's are 'shitty' They are very reliable and in the 12 years I have the Shadow it has not broken down, what I can not say from the old Harley I had.
On the other hand the shadow is only a 750CC , the lowest Harley engine is the 883 sportster, not a Real cruiser imo.

Yes I nstalled the pipes, the front one is a bit tricky but with some patiens anything works.
You have to to a reject if you wanne go. With out the rejet you'll just hear your pipes roar in idle.

the look that Honda has with this model is based on the Fat boy look of Harley.
The sound come close, but is not the same. There is no motorcycle that can be compared with the Haley sound.
Also a Harley can be put in real low refs something that is not possible with a jap bike.
but heads turn too when I come riding down the road.
