Melkor it still in his prison and in Mandos profecy it said that Turin will defeat Melkor but with the help of Tulkas and Fingolfin.Like i said its a profecy and it only will occurs in the final battle.Melkor´s ring its all Arda thats why he got imprisoned and only will be defeated in the end of time.
Actually it's not Fingolfin, but Eonwe fighting together with Turambar and Tulkas against Morgoth in the Dagor Dagorath. But I think, the most important thing is that Túrin might be able to leave a bit of his endless pain behind him...
The true couse of the darkening of Valinor is not the death of the trees.
The true couse is the rebellion of the noldors. They followed the "music" of Melkor, who showed them an other way of living in Arda.
The Valar showed beauty and peace. Melkor showed the power and might, and he won. Thats happend, and thats why the valar didnt cought Melkor again, becouse they knew, Melkor won already.
They could capture Melkor again fast, but it was futile. The noldors hearth owned by Melkor.
You know, I love the Silmarillion and have read it twice now...but I have serious Grade A Sirloin beef with many of the Valar. I know Melkor had to be around in order for a story to take place...but its refreakin-tarded that they let Melkor get away with marring the trees...and so what do they do? Sit around and mourn when they should have kept chasing that MFer down and bitchslapped his ass back to the Halls of Mandos. Orome, Tulkas, and Ulmo are the only Valar with testicular fortitude. =)
It's been a while since I read it, but from what I remember they didn't destroy him out of compassion / hope that he might "change his ways". Guess they should have sent him to a few Darklords Anonymous meetings instead.
I personally believe Morgoth/Melkor was more powerful than Sauron, but his downfall really started by him dividing his power. Plus, Morgoth and Sauron had slightly different goals. Sauron's could be considered just a bit more wise, but I still believe Morgoth to be superior to Sauron, purely through personal bias.
Yes you are correct DeLordReVader Morgoth was more powerful as he was one of the Valar or gods. He was the brother of Manwe the most powerful of the Valar under Eru.
Sauron was of the Maiar or lesser immortals. When the Maiar entered Middle-earth, like elves they could be killed in battle, although the only way to defeat Sauron was to destroy the One Ring as he remained in spirit form after the Downfall of Numenor
from the start till 1:30 the song is very coooooool..btw I am a hiphopper so I am surprised I fell in love with this track. LOL ! good slideshow too ;)
no he's basically Evil incarnate, Satan is just a Fag Fallen angel! Yes he is the lord of christianity but he ain't the evil itself! just the force of Negative activity, the cruel and harmless part of nature...Evil.
You could even say it goes the other way: not that Melkor was evil incarnate, but the evil of the world is Melkor disincarnate. Sauron made a Ring, but all of Arda Marred was "Morgoth's Ring."
I understand! so all evil in Arda is "Morgoth's ring"! but I dislike when they call Sauron to be the dark lord, he's just the servant of the shadow, am i right?!
Yes and no. Once Morgoth was cast out I'm sure Sauron no longer thought of himself as a servant, but he did serve the greater evil indirectly. But the two were fundamentally different: Morgoth was pure blunt destruction, going back to his origin, "he who arises in might." Sauron was more insidious: more deceptive, more creative and more concerned with orderly dominion rather than sheer destruction for its own sake, as befits one of the Maiar of Aule, even a corrupted one.
Melkor/Morgoth isn't "like" Lucifer/Satan: he is another name for him, a sub-created mythological history for him just as Arda is not meant to be a fictional world, but a mythic past of our own real world, which Tolkien as a devout Catholic did not want to contradict Christianity but to prefigure it.
Too funny Melkor is neither Satan or the Devil......wrong again. Although, Satan was one of the Balrogs as I am told.

i guess the valar are like god or the devil....
they shell do things for the human all day long and so they get pissed off and don't do anything
thats my personal reason for not believing in them^^

The valar are supposed to be gods like in greek mythology, while Eru is God while Morgoth is the Devil

Correction I meant mair not istari
roac7777 3 years ago 2
Ive read the comments here on this site and I think people are getting too bogged down.
Melkor was the dark lord of middle earth he was one of the gods that went against Eru and went over to the dark side.
Sauron was of the race of the Istari as was Gandalf and Saruman and Radagast.
He served Melkor (Morgoth) until Melkor was destroyed

You could mind as well claim that the valar are Arch Angels, demigods, and Melkor is one of them. Just like Lucifer (satan) is an arch angel.

Not at all. Blind Guardians older music was slightly lame I must admit but Tales from the Twilight Hall lifted them up.
Although you are correct. This music would suit Wheel of time a little better.

Melkor could CRUSH just about any other villian!

I think the lyrics and first 25 secounds of this song suit Melkor but not so much the rest of the music. Its to upbeat and happy. Still a good song.
MythicDude 3 years ago
Yeah, it is kinda happy, but that's something I like about BG, they play happy music to dark topics.

This song was based on Melkor himself, the lyrics match with his own thoughts... thus suiting this Melkor tribute... well done I say!
