The difference is that we use 'Nadaswara' in front of a temple and Piano or Organ in a Church. Instruments don't have religion but humans do! @KINGMJ1990 .Dont talk nonsense . There is no Hindu, Buddhist Islamic or Christian . Music is music. Carnatic music is form South India , The music of the Tamil, Telugus , Kannadigas and Malayalees. It is true in the ancient days all these people were Hindus , so this music was exclusively for HIndu worship. However now many Tamils, Telugus , Kanndigas and Malyalees are Christians and Muslisms. So there is nothing wrong in Chrisitians or Muslims from these races using this music to praise god

@nav3079 Further there is a differnt falvour to the Carnatic music played by Tamils , Telugs, Kannadigas or Malyaless. This music is typically Tamil . IT is Crnatic but has very distinct Tamil flavour so tht is why it is called Tamil music. SO a Tamil Chiristian has every riight to draw on his or her culture and praise god in their traditional form. This is not the sole heritage of the Tamil Hindus only but the Heritage of all Tamils . You've still not answered my question. Please explain the fundamental incompatibility that you find between the concepts of Dharma and Original Sin. Do you understand this question? Regarding the Old Testament, I'm not sure what you are talking about. As I've said before, I'd like to stay on topic and you've yet to provide an explanation for why you believe it is impossible to believe in both Dharma and Original Sin at the same time. My guess is that you aren't able to do this.

Hi Dravidianwolf, A Christian need not be an expert in Dharma. His faith is enough for him. You can call his ideology a lie. It doesn't matter for him. Chiristian faith is a "foolishness" to those who do not believe it - as per 1 Corinthians 2:14. Therefore a Christian is not surprised by your statement. if you call it a lie, your word doesn't hurt or harm or shake the faith of a Christian. It will only strengthen him.

If you take this debate in a thousand directions, it ceases to be fruitful. Please stay on topic or I am finished. You have said that Hindus believe in Dharma rather than Original Sin. Please demonstrate how these two principles are in logical contradiction. If not, please admit that you were wrong to suggest this and that now you confess that Dharma and Original sin are not logically incompatible. We can take the many other subjects you raise in turn once we've settled the first.

So now you admit that separatism exists in Hinduism but at lower levels than in Christianity. Please explain for us your method of measuring separatism levels and demonstrate that Christianity has higher levels. Also, "monism" and "monolithic" are not similar terms simply because they begin with "mono." I'm not denying that Hinduism monistic by denying that it is monolithic. Nor does claiming that Hinduism is monistic mean that it is necessarily not monotheistic.

I have both read and published on the subject of Hindus and Hinduism. These publications can be found easily by searching my name on Amazon or at your local research library. I use my real name on these posts because I have no need to hide behind the anonymity of a nickname. Now, if you know what Dharma is and what Original Sin is, you should be able to back up your claim that they are fundamentally conflicting ideas. Unless you'd like to retract that claim.

By this definition, Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs are also Hindu. Is that what you are trying to say? Also by this definition, for something to be "Hindu" it only has to originate in India. Is that anything or just religious beliefs? For example is a Tata Indigo a Hindu car? Finally, upon what authority do you derive this definition? Is it just your personal view?

If I understand you correctly, you say that you disagree with the concept of original sin because you believe in personal responsibility. However, original sin doesn't negate, in any way, personal responsibility. Both concepts are taught in the Bible - even in the same Biblical books (e.g. Romans). I believe in both concepts because both are taught in the Bible. Now, you've made several claims here, is there any authority to which you are appealing other than your personal opinion?

Actually, your not correct. It isn't the punishment of Adam's sin that is passed down, but rather the negative effects - Adam's nature became corrupted, all descendants of Adam inherit the same corrupted nature. "That is stupid" doesn't exactly smack of high-minded debate. Please tell me what is "stupid" about it. And, you've not explained the conflict between Dharma and original sin. I take it that you believe it is impossible to belief in both - please explain.

You have not answered my question by providing an authoritative (or any for that matter) basis for your definition of "Hindu." You've only extended your definition. Etymologically, the word is foreign to the Indian cultural context & has historically been haphazardly applied (largely by outsiders) as an umbrella-type term for the diverse & anything-but-monolithic religious world of South Asia.
