I played this song for my schools year 12 graduation on the piano, and my school orchestra played in the bachground, while one of my music teacher played a solo on his violin the other played on his trumpet.. It sound amazing and this was when I was in year 8

your vibrato is too fast... canon should be played with slow and heavy vibrato... slower vibratos' depths are deeper...

To the violinist - great job, however the piece is far more relaxed, stop with such heavy vibrato! And you don't need to use as much attack in your playing! It's a very relaxed piece, and the violin just doesn't sit meshed with the piano. Keep practicing your vibratos, but also, when learning a piece like this, just play it normally. You'd be surprised how easily lilting vibratos just come in on their own. Very rarely do I intentionally do vibratos, it's just become a natural thing.

Its gr8 but a couple of things for the violinist:

1. his vibratos are "tiny" and fast. Yes vibratos are gr8 when fast but his sounds too wiggly since the range isn't big.

2. Vibrato is usually personal style but I would suggest not to start a note IMMEDIATELY with a vibrato. Imagine a person singing using vibrato immediately. No one does that right? You let the note sound out first then ease the vibrato in to make the violin sing.

@xKJx25 very true for i am a violinist and vibrato can be truly beautiful when used correctly but i disagree in this case it makes sense, however singing is not like playing a violin, a violin is an instrument that can "sing" songs in ways others can't imagine so i disagree.

@thegamingviolinist well, the two importang things to take note in a vibrato is speed and range or amplitude. =\ and also, starting a note immediately with a vibrato may sound good but overusing it may make the piece seem boring. You need to choose which notes a vibrato sounds best in, not every note should be in a vibrato. right? I too am a violinist and also a pianist so I have also have some experience so to say.

@xKJx25 i understand however you might disagree but in this case i fell that it fits and gives the song a relaxing and a feeling that makes you just want to sit and listen ignoring everything else but in other songs it just win't work but other songs do start with vibrato a thing only violinist do and no other ( maybe viola but thats it)

I've played Pachelbel Canon; I made very sweet notes and was told to play it in our school Winter Solstice Concert with my best friend being my accompanist. That was the best day of my life! My Mommy was in the audience and was crying when I got off stage. :D

i ♥ this song. its sooo amazing. i remember in high school i played the french horn (with six others) and four of us decided we would play it for solo and ensemble in my junior year. sadly we didnt get to perform it and i had to make a rush change in the program that morning when two of them canceled. it turned from four to two and we played it. later i got a recording of all for of us playing it together. it was great.

Your shoulder is sqeezing the violin, you shouldn't do that, it may hurt after a while, or you can get a really nasty muscle ache if you aren't carefull, you should get a shoulder rest (that's how it's called in english, right?) Without it, you build tension, and your posture looks like you as if you were very tense... and wraped around the violin.

this is good, but the thing i dont understand is that i have the music sheet but its not hte exact same melody (example, in the begining, it repeates 2 times insted of one when u go from D to the second A...) is there other versions in canon in D for violin? or maybe because this is a duet?
