My first build ever was with the P8P67 pro. If anyone wants an easy motherboard to work with for a first build the p8p67 pro or not pro is amazing to work with.
@0oDarkLordRevano0 Asus has come out with loads of BIOS updates for improved memory compatibility now. I'm guessing the bios on the mobo that caught fire had an old bios. But still scary though.
mmm I got a VERY BAD PROBLEM. Memok! sucks, I mean, My ram was working fine, till the Memok! red led turned on forever!. I saw in the forums, everyone got the SAME PROBLEM!! what can I do!??
Anyone know if these usb3 header adapters have been released by anyone yet? or even better any cases that have front i/o usb3 that use the interal header rather than route around the back and using up one of the back panel slots?
I have two memory sticks. Does it matter whether they go into the blue or black slots on the asus motherboard? My CPU cooler blocks one of the black slots. :/
@Michigan1985 as far as i am aware the slot that is next to the CPU is best for speed but you shouldn't notice a difference. So in other words no you should be fine.

@Rosumny00 Unless I am mistaken, there are no motherboards currently for sale which work with the 1155 socket because of that whole hardware issue Intel had. You can order the processor right now but you wont be able to use it anything. You are going to have to wait a few weeks for new and revised motherboards which support Sandy Bridge to be released.
I wonder if asus is going to revise their boards in anyway when the fixed boards come in april. I switched from asus to gigabyte for p67, and now I'm missing asus. :(
I might switch back when I go to send my p67 board back.

The fault is in the motherboard chipset, NOT the cpu as you are implying.Also the motherboard is NOT gonna be "messed up", and will work just fine for years if it needed to.However intel has made a recall and is arranging with the likes of asus etc returns of the mobos.Asus will arange with the people you bought your mobo from on how or when to return it.

Well depends if you know your reference clock. Then look up in a program like Speccy, CPUZ or what ever system info program there is out there (lots of them). If you don't know reference clock go cpubenchmarking(dot)net and look up the name on your CPU. But doubt it's overclocked if you do't know how to see it. As you got to do it manually.
I really find myself a bit happy to see these product reviews more and more. I hope to see more from Newegg in the future, as being the #1 source for many things, and all things computer, you'd figure there would have been a vid segment a long time ago.

Seriously, NewEgg really dropped the ball on this Sandy bridge launch. Nothing is in stock, either ram is out of stock, the motherboard, hell next they'll run out of CPU grease! At this rate by the time they have everything in stock the socket 2011 boards will be out!
Intel is killing AMD with Sandy, this Cpu walks/runs circles all over the Phenoms and Thubans and even worse is that BD is not coming out anytime soon, by the time BD is out Ivy will be just around the corner. It was a good run AMD, now lets get ready for the $1000+ Cpu's. Intel will have no mercy for our wallets.
@sodrogam yup R.I.P AMD and then Intel will be split in half by our government because monopoly is illegal in this country. If AMD falls Im sure the government will bail them out (like they bailed out Chevy, Ford, Dodge and the banks) to avoid having to shred Intel. I love ASUS motherboards. I have a P7P55D EVO and a Core i3 530. I've been running 24/7 stable at 4.42GHz for about 6 months now, and it's completely rock solid. I also got the motherboard for only $120 from Newegg. The bang/buck ratio is incredible!
There is also LGA1356 as well. I don't think LGA2011 will be used for enthusiast desktops. That sounds more like a replacement for LGA1567 for high end servers. LGA1356 sounds more likely since it has triple channel DDR3 and it just seems more likely.
This was a great video, very nice product tour. It's really made me think of buying an Asus motherboard over any other manufacturer because it makes me think - at least - that Asus' 1155 MoBo range is very well thought out.
The company was originally called "Pegasus" and they wanted to be closer to the top of alphabetical lists, so they hacked of the Peg and we where left with Asus.
And with my pronunciation of Pegasus, it's Ass Suss. :P
Have you seen their videos, it makes me loose ALL respect. Newegg have the knowledge and superb videos, while NCIX has Linus who just knows everything. :P

@Hokrollo1 the cheaper models has different chipsets, the h67 doesnt support all x16 PCI lanes, it probably is running at dual x8 or even one x8 and x4 speeds which affect the performance on multi-gpu setups and its smaller so therefore it doesn't have the best heatsinks for overclocking

If you don't know reference clock go cpubenchmarking(dot)net and look up the name on your CPU. But doubt it's overclocked if you do't know how to see it. As you got to do it manually.

I really find myself a bit happy to see these product reviews more and more. I hope to see more from Newegg in the future, as being the #1 source for many things, and all things computer, you'd figure there would have been a vid segment a long time ago.

Seriously, NewEgg really dropped the ball on this Sandy bridge launch. Nothing is in stock, either ram is out of stock, the motherboard, hell next they'll run out of CPU grease! At this rate by the time they have everything in stock the socket 2011 boards will be out!

Intel is killing AMD with Sandy, this Cpu walks/runs circles all over the Phenoms and Thubans and even worse is that BD is not coming out anytime soon, by the time BD is out Ivy will be just around the corner. It was a good run AMD, now lets get ready for the $1000+ Cpu's. Intel will have no mercy for our wallets.

@sodrogam true. i always an AMD fanboy for long enough till the QUAD CPU came out. Hate to say AMD losing it but... yeah.... they are.

@sodrogam yup R.I.P AMD and then Intel will be split in half by our government because monopoly is illegal in this country. If AMD falls Im sure the government will bail them out (like they bailed out Chevy, Ford, Dodge and the banks) to avoid having to shred Intel. You act like you want to be forced to fork out 1k per processor... I think that would suck honestly and Im sure most people would agree.

I love ASUS motherboards. I have a P7P55D EVO and a Core i3 530. I've been running 24/7 stable at 4.42GHz for about 6 months now, and it's completely rock solid. I also got the motherboard for only $120 from Newegg. The bang/buck ratio is incredible!

There is also LGA1356 as well. I don't think LGA2011 will be used for enthusiast desktops. That sounds more like a replacement for LGA1567 for high end servers. LGA1356 sounds more likely since it has triple channel DDR3 and it just seems more likely.

This was a great video, very nice product tour. It's really made me think of buying an Asus motherboard over any other manufacturer because it makes me think - at least - that Asus' 1155 MoBo range is very well thought out.

@Hokrollo1 the cheaper models has different chipsets, the h67 doesnt support all x16 PCI lanes, it probably is running at dual x8 or even one x8 and x4 speeds which affect the performance on multi-gpu setups and its smaller so therefore it doesn't have the best heatsinks for overclocking
other than that though, its practically the same
