  • how can i upgrade my CPU frequency to 1.9GH? to play Assassins Creed, These are my CPU's Frequency: Intel(R) Dual CPU T2310 @ 1.46GHz 1,47GHz. HOPE YOU CAN HELP! ANYONE! ^^' THX!

  • OH MY GOD A 8600 DID U PICK THAT UP AT A GARAGE SALE. jkjk

  • 5:55 to a TV

  • what is your Job rick?

  • Its a shame they discontinued production on the 8800GT's, they still got a while to go before they go obsolete

  • what when did they do this? there AMAZING bang for the buck, i want to go SLI too :(

i guess there is the 250 to replace it and the 9800 though.

  • Closest thing to the 8800GT... I would say would be the 9600GT

  • isnt the 9800gt a 55nm version of the 8800gt?

  • Yes mostly

  • closest thing to 8800gt is a 9800gt...

  • They got a evga 250gts for 129.99 on newegg right now.

  • Good enough for what he wants it to do.

  • amd 9950 overclocable to 3.2

  • nice. in the rig i built for my uncle back in 2007 it also included the same 8600GT, but it was $125 LOL

  • Good parts! Nothing too crazy about them (Y)

  • Decent build Rick

what games did your client want to play using that card?

  • Empire Total War and few others but that's the main one.

  • why did you buy the most fail card you could?

  • Fail card? He is happy and it sure smokes his X300 he had. It runs his games great at the resolution he has and with only a 300W PSU with 19 amps on 12v bout the best I could get for the cash he had. Not everyone is mode of money or has to have a 9800GTX or better to be content.

  • Yes fail card... it may smoke his old card but you got to consider the alternatives cards like $20 higher price range 4670 etc would of been better and still run on his psu.

  • Well he is happy and wanted to spend less as possible and I prefer nvidia over ATI just because the problems with drivers. I guess I could of gotten him to spend a bit more, but just wanted to make sure his PSU would hold up for the long haul.

  • Well, I'm still on my trusty XFX 8600GTS :D OC:ed to 1130/730 as factory settings, and I can't say that I have anything to complain about it runs just about everything I throw at it at 40+fps on really good or even maximum settings, though the most intensive game I have is probably Cod4 which I run at 1440x900 High and 2x AA ~70-90fps. So I don't think the 8600's are such bad cards, but obviously the 8600GT is whole 1500-2000 3Dmarks down from the 8600GTS, but still a reasonable card.

  • i have two 9600gso with a 550w runs great.

  • his computer is similar to mine. it shud handle what he plays fine, i have a 9600 gso with a 550w power supply in my computer.

  • 9600 gso RAPES the 8600gt, 8600gt sli is slower than 9600gso. Your computer is much better :P

  • If it had a 550W I would have got a 9600gt or gso trust me but wanted to keep it cheap and didn't have a bunch of cash to spend he was happy thats what matters.

  • yeh im thinking it shuda saved up and got a 9800 gt or at least a 9600 gt, or it might be my p4 bottlenecking my video card.

  • Almost any newer card will be bottlenecked by a single core P4.

  • a p4 will bottleneck with a x1950xt just to give u an idea

  • dang man, im F-ed lol

  • Buying a P4 nowadays no matter how cheap is kinda not smart you can get a cheap dual core for like 60-70 bucks that will smoke a P4 no matter what model. Remember clocks mean nothing anymore.

  • nice card hope he has fun.

  • i have a 300 watt psu and i have a 9600gt lol

  • wow, what other parts do you have?

  • i got a AMD64x2 at 2.3and 2gigs of ram and a shitty ass 40 gi hard drive (yea i noe)lol

  • The 8600GT only requires around 45watts (roughly 3.75amps on 12V rail) of power. Peak output of a PCI-E expansion slot is 75watts for future reference (without additional power connectors). That card suits that system well, good selection and good video!

  • 5/5

  • lite on is pretty good I bought an i/o magic and it came with a lite on. lol

  • good vid..i don't really like how your calling a friends build a "client" build.

but hey thats just me i guess ;)

  • Hes is a guy I work with don't really hang out and since he paid me guess I call him a client.

  • great video rick 5/5

i remember when i had the 8600 gt UGH horrible horrible days i say hah

  • s-video to component

  • nice rick hope he enjoys =]

  • He was happier then I thought he kept saying this is sick lol.

  • Fanboy #1 of Rickarter.

I don't even care if you keep talking LOL I LOVE your videos. 5/5 dude.

  • I am honored thx love your vids as well man!!!!!

  • 8600gt requires less than 5amps ..but 8600gt was a good choice, anything faster is bottleneck anyways so.. 9600gt coul've worked also.

  • I was over after installing the parts and we ran the game and it looked great and ran almost perfect at max settings at decent 1280x1025 resolution. That was on his 17 in so might have to lower it a bit on the new 20 in screen.

  • Nice 5/5 I love New Egg!

  • btw... thats an component cable that you did not know what that is for. its for HDtvs to get a little better quality :)

  • Thanks

  • wow my ace 500watt psu is even worse then that!

    nice card though... :) 5/5

  • Its a Bestec 300W unit with 19 amps on the 12v rail not bad I say.

  • nice nice.... good psu i would say :)
