there is also a another solution that u can get. after so meny videos are now posted on your channel or if more are being viewed, your time limit will increase automaticly right now when i go to upload a video on my account, it saids right at the top of where u upload a video it states....(congradulations you are now allowed to upload video's longer then 15 minutes) and so far i have been able to upload vids as long as 30 minutes so far thats as long as a video i have uploaded.

I was wondering do you know how to add an audio clip from a song that is copyrighted but still upload it. Can you give us some guidance on how much of a news program one can upload to youtube? I'm in a number of news segments about my environmental activism.

Can I upload the entire news story segment that I'm in (or that my friends are in)? I also sometimes upload entire interview segments from MSNBC or Free Speech TV because of the topic discussed.

How about interviews from late night TV?

Also, does it matter what you have in your Favorites section or any other playlists?

@VirtualCandidate The news is copyrighted. The only advice I can give you is to contact the news channel and get written permission to use the footage. That way, if someone files a DMCA against you, you can file a dispute and send the written proof to the YouTube Editors showing that you have permission to use the footage. 99.9% of footage on television is copyrighted. No, it doesn't matter what you have in your favorites or playlists.

The whole long video uploads issue isn't something I really care for anyway. I don't even like making videos more then say 5 or 6 minutes, and I almost always never watch vids all the way thru that are ten min or longer unless it is something I am really interested in, or debates I am putting on in my headphones to go to sleep on. Not a problem. I can see how you find it unfair that the partnership program isn't available in your country, but that isn't actually YouTube's fault. Slowly, they are including more and more countries, but it's actually an expensive process, which includes other countries' laws and stuff like that. How do you find out if a movie is Public Domain or not?

This is more complicated than not in some cases. The best way to find out if a movie is PD is looking for a film that has about 10 different distributers. By this I mean, if the distribution house is Mill Creek, Diamond, St. Clair, VistaVision and they put out a 9 dollar DVD collection with like 8 different movies (or 50) in the collection, rest assured, those movies are ALL PD. Also, about 99% of materials published before 1922 are automatically PD. This means LOTS of silent films.
