13HP !! That's all? You must know these Microturbo TRI-60-5 jet engines very well? Please tell me why these jet engines needs a 100hp starter motor just to spin it up to 15% and the USAF pays $100,000.00 each for them if they only makes 13hp?
Where did you get the motor ($)? That thing is for cruise missiles so I can't imagine it being an easy thing to acquire... nice vet btw. I'm envious of your toys lol! Oh and for those wondering, these have roughly 1200lbs of thrust (wikipedia).
@scuferrari if you bought it from a store there is 1% diesel in there. i work at a plant that make it we are not alowed to sell 100% and i took a jug home and put it on a fire and it about put it out
@Rick58790 you are confused. Biodiesel is considered "non-flammable", as well petro diesel in "non-flammable." Just because something is not flammable does not mean it will wont burn. Wood for example is not flammable but will burn. The reason the plant you work at cant sell b100 is due to tax purposes. Has nothing to do with legal issues
@usernametaken1932 yep your right. but here in california. its a pollution issue. How? biodiesal puts out some by product that they consider to be harmfull.
@tinosnit if you gear it like on dragster, than enough to reach 100mph in few seconds and if you gear it even more like on caterpillar, than it will pull a tree from the ground or push a brick wall with little effort...
Yes it is. The propane open/close solenoid is wired to the starter relay and is only open when starter is energized. The starter relay shuts off when P2 pressure reaches 3 PSI.
Looks great. Might I suggest that you not have the fuel in line with the turbine. If you throw a turbine blade it will slice through your fuel container and its not going to be pretty. not pretty at all. anyway keep up the good work and remember play safe
Was that a hot start?

What kind of thrust does 1300hp give?
tinosnit 2 years ago
1300 hp works out to 1300 pounds of thrust, give or take a little.

thats cool, is the propane tank just for getting it going?
