im 15 and i traveled over to london to see LND last christmas. it was absolutely wounderful! sierra boggess has always been my favorite christine and it was simply amazing to see her and ramin perform. the music is just as mezmorizing as phantom. i can only hope that they bring it to new york so i can see it time and time again! ive seen the original in nyc many times and in vegas and now in london! i am in love with everything about both musicals and that passion will probably never go away.
I Really Really Think he should make a movie, Just change somethings, and make characters more in character. I mean, the over all plot with the Phantoms son and how she really loved him seemed perfect. I always thought that Raoul would become a drunk, He had that pretty-boy kinda feeling to me :/ I really love the music, just not so much the meg shooting her best friend and her mother being evil, But The Musical is beautiful
I have not seen the show yet. Unfortunately, I will be unable to. I do NOT live in london nor do I live in Australia and I'm only 13 so I can't travel just to see it. I've heard that Love Never Dies is closing. It's just sad. He should have at least brought it to Broadway to see how it would work out. If he did, then I'd be able to go. All it takes is about an hour and a half drive and the same amount of time on a train. I'm really disappointed and I wish he'd make this a video like Cats.
I've seen the show a month ago in London and all I can say is: wonderful! Like someone said below 10 out of 10 :) The songs are beautiful, the acting is very good and I really liked the plot too. I loved the Phantom which I've also seen and of course, they have different styles but one thing is for sure...if you are a Phantom fan,I'm sure you'll like this one too. I suppose it's one of those shows that you either love it or hate it....i
I think the thing is that they are two such vastly different pieces of work that it's not really practical to compare them. The style, the characters even the story in retrospect is so very different from the original that in order to say that both are good, you have to examine them separately. I loved the story and the atmosphere of the original phantom. This one is much more powerful and commercialised in many respects I feel but it is still a fantastic piece of work. It depends on your style
Yesterday I saw both shows, and LND was a real disappointment. The Adelphi was half empty and lacked atmosphere. The beautiful music and stunning effects don't really compensate for the plot - they have twisted the story so much that it is almost unrecognisable from the cast cd, and yet it continues to lack realism. As a result, the ending lacks emotional pull: I didn't really care what happened to the charachters. I really wanted to love this show, but it just seems to fall short.
@ penninefilms: I disagree. I also have seen both shows and LND is truly amazing! Off course, nothing can compare to the original Phantom. But LND is sooo beautifull. The songs, the voices, the music..........it is wonderfull! Thank you Andrew, thank you Sierra and Ramin, for this amazing piece of art.
Did someone below write Phantom of the OPRAH ?? (would that be gayle king? Ha!) ... I have seen both and performed the original - Love Never Dies is a superior piece of theatre in my opinion!
I have to say have seen the show and it was no where as good as the phantom of the Oprah so if you love the original phantom just get reddy for a shock when you see this one.
I don't care what the critics say, I wasn't too exited for this at first and I am an avid Phantom Phan, but the more I listen to the soundtrack the more I fall in love with it. I hope the cast trasnfers over here, it would be awesome to see my favorite Phantom on Broadway :)...
Ramin Karimloo said that if he wasn't dragged to a showing of Phantom when he was younger then it was most likely he wouldn't have appeared in this, I would like to appear in this as The Phantom when I'm older if it's still running. It's a great show, saw one of the previous. Yet to see original Phantom though. I would like to appear in that as well as Raoul one time and Phantom the next.
ok now its awsome! my birthday is a national holiday to all phantom fans!!! Love Never Dies opened on my birthday!!! so wish i could have been in londan. too bad i live a whole ocean away!
@kp123627142 I can assure you that the opening day of LND is most certainly not a national holiday to all phantom phans. More like a small minority of them that actually enjoy this show. Because plenty of them do NOT.
agreed. phantom is one of the greatest pieces of musical theatre ever created. i hardly ever trust critics. in the end, the fans and their opinions are what matter, and the FANS have made phantom the single most successful theatrical enterprise of all time. and love never dies will be wonderful, the score is awesome and i cant wait to see it
i have just bought the cd is great i love nearly better than tehe first one the müsic and sierra sings so beautiful its much better with the orchestra their duett is so cool and when she dies in the end she sings his song too i love her the best christine a very good musical
And as far the critics not liking teh show, ALW said that when phantom first opened the critics weren't too found of it either, but what made the show successful & a hit was the loyal fanbase.

AH! In the beginning of this video, Ramin doesn't have his mask on! that sorta spoils it. doesn't look as scary as the original makeup though.
