Its possible that this could have been a sasquatch scream. we heard them in Bella Coola periodically it wasn't unusual to us as children to hear the unearthly hellish screams alot closer then this was, that is the only way I can describe it if you hear it it is the most freaky sound you wwill ever hear.

@deguello66 Yes, but if you were there you could tell it wasn't a car. Plus the road is about 1/2 a mile away, so the noise wouldn't have appeared as loud as it was where we were. You would have had to have been there, the recording did it no justice. It was loud, and it was obvoius that it was not a car.

Thank you for your comment, yes, I have been researching audio calls from local wildlife, anywhere from birds to deer to bears (we don't get many bears down in the valley, btw) and have come up with nothing. a few things close, but a bit too far off. The closest thing I found was a coyote call but it was way too high pitched. I think these ones stay in the woods year round, not migration, but I believe sasquatches normally migrate. Even with the houses, there are plenty of hiding spaces cont'd

The sound could be a Sasquatch warning that you are getting to close. Their are a lot of Sasquatch audio recordings here on you tube. Start listening to them maybe you will find your answer there.
