In Sept. of 2005 Geraldo was covering Hurricane Rita in Port Arthur, TX. After the storm hit, he does a report with waders on, standing underneath a train overpass that ALWAYS floods...and reports that Port Arthur is completely flooded. Which was a COMPLETE LIE!

Speaking of upholding the law, why not go after all the corporations that give these illegal immigrants work, which is the root of the problem? No-one follows through, even though it would be too easy to target them. It's all just an act. The government is exploiting these people for cheap labor and then telling you that illegal immigration is out of control- ain't that convenient?

There are laws in place right now to dish-out heavy fines for knowingly hiring Illegals. The people hiring them should be put out of business! But la raza and other alien agencies do not want that either. The USA lets 6 million a year immigrate to this country, more than all countries in the world combined! Mexico and other 3rd world nations need to fix there own problems so there people will not want to leave, don't you agree?

Fining them isn't going to do work; like I said, it's an act to make you think they're doing something about it. And no. I do not like your tribal mentality. I do not agree with kicking these people to the curb, when they came here with such desperation and bloody hard work. The Mexican government is fucked; the people have no power. My stepfather came here as an illegal immigrant, out of a life of poverty, and worked here for years, contributing much more than most apathetic, spoiled Americans.

They aren't trying to actually get and keep them out, because if they were, they wouldnt still be here working (often for under minimum wage). And allowing them a reasonable way to obtain citizenship would mean treating and paying them decently. Call Rivera a hypocrite? Rivera is a hypocrite for standing for the illegals? Basic human decency? The way I see it, he's "keeping it real". He acknowledges that these people are practically lured here, which is more that can be said for many. I agree that something has to be done, of course, but throwing them out would be more damaging than you may think. For one example, here in Cali, no white man would step down from his pedestal to harvest crops, period. They don't want that job. Our agriculture here would plummet.
