  • hey i was wondering where you got your bed? because i just bought a 83' Hilux long bed and the beds all rusted out so im makeing or buying a new one not sure yet.

  • lux just nice..

  • I've said it here before, but I LOVE THIS LUX!!!!! Bit confussed though mate, WHY with all the awesome trucks you can have outside of N.America (like ones with Diesel engines) would you import an American Toy Mini-Truck (what we call the Hillux here??? Seesm that you could have had a far better pick of the litter in the UK then from our very limited variety here in the States. Hell you could get an SFA 3rd gen Hillux from South Africa and it'd have the steering wheel on the right... Just a Q

  • very good driver..u r truely amazing!!!i like.

  • Very impressive driving mate....very!

  • @ozjas - Your correct, our steering wheels are on the right but this trucks a left hooker because its imported from USA.

  • @hiluxdaddy

Yeah, but Toyota never sold the Hilux in America. They sold them as the Toyots "Truck." Swear to God, thats what they're called hahaha

  • @hiluxdaddy sweet!

  • Great one!

  • since when do people go wheeling in england? I always thought y'all just drank tea and shit like that

  • When we're done 4wheelin we go home and drink tea, prune our garden hedges, listen to cricket on BBC radio 4 and shit like that. Then we go out 4 wheelin again.

    ;)

  • This thing is sooo stiff., Get some real leaf springs that flex and build that thing right.

  • You guys drink too?

  • @hiluxdaddy Quality answer...thumbs up.

  • @hiluxdaddy dont forget when we walk around sayying shit like pip pip tally hoe, old chum and eating crumpets

  • @hiluxdaddy dont forget when we walk around sayying shit like pip pip tally hoe, old chum and eating crumpets

  • @hiluxdaddy personally i would be drinking tea listening to cricket while wheelin ;) haha jokes

  • Wheeling is world wide homie!

  • nice video, our range rover could do all of this I think, but that just because Toyota's and land rover has great suspensions =)

nice drinving at 1:28 btw =>

  • good driving, capable truck. nice.

  • your a crazy motherfucker

  • impressive driving mate. i love the look of the short wheel base, didnt know they existed! imported ey, are they any different from the UK and Aus ones other than bieng short? (im assuming Aus and UK are the same) what tyres are you running? haha you crushed a rock at the start with your front diff, that is a testiment to the toughness of the old solid front axle!

  • Thanks for the comment. The short bed wheelbase is 102" vs 112" of the long bed. I think they were only sold in the US, not sure why. At that time, UK trucks only came with 2.2petrols or 2.4 diesels. The 22R engine in this truck has far more tuning parts available. The tyres are a British made re-mould 'super swamper' style pattern.

  • You're an amazing driver with a kick ass truck!

  • @anzactuck Ah man this is funny reading! Here in Canada we import the 4 door's and diesels cause everyone wants them here haha! I got a 1990 single cab short box Yota, 22re, 5 speed on 32" BFG's. Gonna be doing a SAS pretty soon and putting in 4.88 gears on 33's, should be pretty sweet when it's done.

  • where is cheshire is this????

  • It was a cracking site between Haydock and Earlstown, but sadly its nearly all been levelled and getting turned into a 'community nature park' (somewhere for people to take their dogs for a turd)

  • Sweet Toyota ^^ doing what it does best.

  • Awesome video - one of the best at web 5 stars

  • nice!

  • That's a very capable hilux.

  • sweet hilux but if its imported from the US its not a hilux right?im just wondering.

  • Thanks. Yeh, you're right. Correct title -Toyota RN60 short bed 4WD truck.

We're just so used to calling them a Hilux over here.

  • Nice truck, and nice driving too.

  • Nice truck, and nice driving too.

  • Man I LOVE your HILUX mate. I've got a 1ST gen 4Runner (Same front clip but with a Fully body behind) and I can only imagine it looking like this beast. Such a Sick truck eh. NOTHING BEATS A TOYOTA!

    Cheers

    Dave

  • Thanks for you comment, Dave. I just wish I had more time to get out wheeling and make more vids of my truck.

  • Nice truck mate, i'm in the middle of building a LN60 hilux myself, got to love the short beds, soooo much better and rarer. well done!

  • Thanks! Shortbeds are very rare in the UK. They only come as unofficial imports usually from the US like mine.

Hope to see some vids of your truck when its done. Cheers bud.

  • WE only had them in oz from '79 to (i think) '81 Mine is being built from an Aussie 4runner as they are the same wheelbase, will definately post some vid's for all to see

  • Smart looking rig you have there bud. Will have to get up that way and have a play myself sometime. It looks like a good site!!

  • Cheers pal. This sites a legacy of the north west coal mining industry. The rain creates these awesome washouts but the ground drys like concrete in the sun. Its the nearest thing ive found to 'slickrock' in the UK. Its like Moab with grass! lol. There some huge, very steep hills too. Local council keep threatening to turn it into another 'nature reserve' :(

  • Cool truck!!

    Nice playgrounds btw :-)

  • nice truck love the ozzy ute styling.

it appears quick of the mark as well.

OME will be my next choice currently running the poor mans ozzy springs from iron man.

  • Thanx! Yeh it picks its feet up ok cos ive kept the weight down and its got a built 22R engine with Downey cam, headers, weber, K&N, 2.5" expipe etc.

Does nice 2wd donuts with rear diff-lock in!!

  • the weight thing is one of the best things I did I'm down to 960kg. with a 2.4td and 2.5" straight through exhaust. Detroit Lockers mechanical LSD handle the rear. Made high speed offroad handling more stable.

understand the power with the 22r its a top engine.

  • Cool hilux mate getting some good flex on your springs. Come over and say hello at HPOC

  • Thanks for the comment. Im running Old Man Emu +2" springs, +2" shackles, OME urethane bushes, Downey long reach torque arm on front axle and Pro-Comp 15" travel shocks. No anti-roll bar.
