Have you found a formula for soil mixture that works well? For me a lot of the soils here are very depleted of organic mater and turn hard like cement when dry.

I think I've heard of that town. I've definitely heard of Chiquimula. The experience with the girls groups has been great. Now, each girl is going to create her own tire garden in her house. Also, in Chimaltenango there is an organization that supports youth gardening and farming. Its through Texas A & M University, so if you're near Chimal its right before a town called Parramos.

WOW I was near there several month ago .I think the town is Sibinal ,may not be spelled right. Im a retired Canadian working in community development in the Chiquimula area. I want to come back and spend some time with some potato growers. Would like to hear more about your experience.
