  • I remember this commercial. Great times!

  • This looks newer then a 92 lol

  • i tend to judge a product patly by how well it is marketed and Lexus was relentless in that area and rightfully so. I remember this ad vividly as a college student studying engineering in 1993

  • which also means a toyota is put together good

  • I am sure the ball wouldn't know the difference between toyota or lexus (toyota). Only upstarts buy lexus, since they are scared of high maintenance of German cars, but want to be seen in expensive car that is cheap to maintain. If you know anything about driving, you will only drive European car. Oh wait, you wouldn't know, as you just upgraded your toyota to another toyote ..eerrr lexus.

  • @trance20001 Most German cars are leased, which means they're being driven around by people who can't actually afford to buy them out right. By contrast Lexus has a much lower lease percentage, meaning people pay good money to own an excellent product for the long term. Maintenance is often offered free with German cars these days, the fear is long term reliability and expensive repairs outside of the warranty period. This is also why so many are leased, once the warranty is up get a new one.

  • @Slimecrazy234 German cars are leased by people who can't afford to buy them out right?? Wow, this is the most BS statement I have heard since the balloon boy episode. Keep believing in what you think, and it will make you successful and rich enough to afford Japanese car.

  • @trance20001 Enjoy:

  • @Slimecrazy234 Ha, believe in that study and whenever you see someone driving a German car, think of them as poor person. That will give 20 more bhp to your lexus..or was it a toyota?

  • @trance20001 I don't think they are a poor person, but your assertion that it's people driving Lexuses who are starters is what's twisted considering most Lexuses are bought out right and leasing one actually makes it more expensive than leasing a German car. The 3 series for example is the most popular compact executive sedan and it also has by far the best lease deals in the segment. It's the cheapest way to get into a status symbol.

  • @Slimecrazy234 Agreed. There are heaps of wanna be types who buy leased bmw or audi basic model ones and then put neon lights on them. My point is that European cars are way better to drive in terms of sportiness and feel. I have a Japanese and German both and I compare them everyday when I drive. whats ticks me off is how they dress up Nissan, Toyota and Honda and sell it for the same price as German brothers, with fancy names. Do you know why these three manufacturers took this route?

  • @trance20001 Acuras are all essentially Hondas, I agree with you there. Infiniti and Lexus though are a bit different. Infiniti makes almost exclusively RWD cars, unlike FWD mass market Nissans. The cars Lexus makes that compete with the Europeans (IS, GS, LS) are also on exclusive RWD platforms that are not shared with Toyotas, so in those cases they are not at all merely dressed up Toyotas for the same price. Luxury cars are profitable, and the Germans typically have the highest margins.

  • @Slimecrazy234 So, if Lexus is not dressed up Toyota, then why do a particular safety recall always affect Toyota or comparable Lexus for the same fault? They even share same engine, but Lexus has different software configuration and different bore spec to make it more powerful than Toyota. In fact, many plants makes both the brands in the same assembly line, by same workers.

  • @trance20001 No, Lexus cars are made on separate assembly lines and in many cases in separate factories. watch?v=d-mlEAR3eDs is Lexus' 5 series competitor, this car shares nothing with a Toyota. It is on a RWD platform with unique engines, chassis, & engineered to very high standards and with lots of innovative technology that Toyotas can only dream of. Yes Toyota engineers these cars, but that is not a negative, they have lots of talent & resources and build some of the best cars in the world.

  • @trance20001 If anyones noticed lots of lexus sedans are based on 05 to 10 avalons interior wise and rarely externally.(They also go down to safety)

  • "it actually is........

    ...put together well..."

  • @johnxy888 yes, I heard

  • dammmm i remember this commercial i was 13 year old at the time how time fly

  • Quality.

  • we used to have a 1993 Lexus ES 300...it was a fantastic car,it clocked about 260,000 Miles before it finally bit the dust...the car sat for about a year then got crushed.....i miss it....i'd like to find another 93 for sentimental reasons.

  • @form109 I am trying to sell one. black (just like the commercial ) w/ 126k miles. in Oregon.

  • @marderend sounds like a good deal.

  • @GlassPike maybe your mom

  • brilliant commercial

  • Until the first accident and then those body panels will never line up again because of the incompetent boobs that work in most body shops.

  • @EdwardJellico i feel your pain i bought my 93 es300 wrecked and it took me 2 days to get the panels to fit "right" they still need a lil bit of tweeking but it is better than what i have seen come out of body shops

  • we used to have a 1996 or 1997 Lexus ES

  • Wow, I remember this commercial wayyy back in the day; I thought it was so neat. Now I drive that same car, except mine's a '95.
