  • @sexyWVgal I'm honestly not sure... I'd have to see the exact setup you're working with to come to some sort of solution. You might be able to fashion something to the bottom of the pole like I did with mine and then set up the top with the flange and nipple. However, if the pole itself is spring-loaded (holds to the ceiling with tension), you can pretty much forget it cuz it won't hold your weight. just please be careful with whatever route you take! :)

  • Can you make this non-spinning or spinning? I love the spinning pole, but at dance clubs the poles usually don't spin and I'd like to be able to workout with both. :-)

  • Nice job!I talent hat off did u build it yourself?

  • @mightydizzy I did! Check out my other videos for the tutorial. And thank you!

  • wow, I had trouble putting together my ready-made pole and you actually did it all yourself. I wish I had your construction skills and patience!

  • Hey well done, u are amazing on it too x

  • That's pretty ingenious of you, I must say! But I don't think I could ever feel safe or secure dancing on a pole that thin. I have a 50 mm chrome x-pole myself, and I know some people complain that the 50 mm is too big, but I absolutely love it. It provides enough surface area for solid grip with both hands and legs. Your home made one is definitely hundreds of dollars cheaper though!! :)

  • my boyfriend is such a fucking retard! he dared to argue with me that no poles spin its just the stripper have skill! he fucking stupid ! yeah it takes skill and yeah some poles dont spin but alot do.any ways im gonna get one and learn how to dance and prove his ass wrong and then dump him! love your moves!!

  • if you make this permanent could you do handstands then??

  • @scheyenne87 Sure if you were to bolt the very bottom piece of plywood to your floor, it'd be no problem. The only handstand I can safely do on mine is this: (sorry, not familiar with the actual names of the moves, so bear with my description lol) Climb up the pole and "sit" on it; pole between crossed legs. Lean backwards, slide down until your elbows touch the floor. Reach behind your head, grab the base of the pole to hold it in place. Balance on elbows and release the grip with your legs.

  • Tigerpolekitten *reow* You dance pretty sexy with your stripper pole. If I have my own house, probably a larger house; I'd install a few stripper poles along with a live nudes sign, and the girls will come on down to do their thang.

  • I like your moves! I will be investing in one shortly, because I'm dying to learn how to pole dance. I saw one at Spencer's, but you have to piece it together. Do you think it will work just as good?

  • @CountryQueen59109 Thanks! If my memory serves correctly, the pole at Spencer's is spring-loaded. In other words, the only thing holding it between the ceiling and floor is tension. If you were to place all of your weight on one of those poles, the spring mechanism compresses, causing the pole to come loose from the ceiling, possibly causing injury. Just Google the pole you're looking into and find reviews on it. Check out my video on how to build my pole. It's fairly easy!

  • Is there a way to bolt the bottom to the floor so it doesn't slip? I dont really need it to be portable. Also, did you get your pole cut to the EXACT size celing to floor or did you have to subtract some of the measurements to get it to fit?

  • @Theprettywon You can absolutely bolt the very bottom piece of wood to the floor if you want it to be permanent. No need for the rubber grippers if you're going to do it that way. To get the right measurements, I bought everything but the pole. Assembled everything without the pole, then took measurements. So, yes I subtracted the height of the hardware from the height from ceiling to floor.

  • Can you use the metal caps you see on the regular poles instead of the wood?

  • @VSPINK17 You could definitely try it out! Its all trial and error, just like my project here. What would you lose? $5 for the part? :) Good luck!

  • how long have you had this and is it still in good condition?

  • @angelaramphal I've had it about 3 years and still works perfectly!

  • how much weight does it hold? and can u email me like step by step instructions for this pole? and also i bought a peek-a-boo party pole thinking it would work but its a peioce of crap, can io use tht pole as the pole or am i better off just starting from stratch like u? s.willis10@yahoo.com. please email me and let me know. Also u are the freaking smartest person ever

  • @fugechick07 haha Thanks! Check out the video response that I posted on how to build it. The instructions are in the video and the materials list is in the description. The weight limit is 500 lbs. if you get the right lazy susan. :) If I were you, I'd start from scratch, but I also have no idea what the peek-a-boo pole looks like... also, not sure that you can find the right fittings for it.

  • You're a genius! Thanks for the DIY ideas!

  • Ok..so when you put the pole in, I see you kicking it towards the base and stuff. Do you make sure the top is secure, then just set the bottom of the pole in the base? Thanks ahead of time for your answer :)

  • @carolann0922 No, the base is attached. I had it set up on carpet, so the rubber grippers on the bottom prevented the pole from sliding around, hence the kicking. lol

  • woman of the freakin year.

  • Toutes mes félicitations! J'ai fait la même chose!

  • C'est magnifique! J'aimerais voir une vidéo d'entre vous au travail sur votre création!

  • Before, i used hate pole danceing but now, i've changed my mind. It looks really fun, unique, and like a great workout. I want to do that also when i have enough room in my house :D

  • Scholarship?!?! Hahahahahaha ... That's funny. You are AWESOME for making this pole. You go girl!

  • will this get me a scholarship?

  • ummmm... no.

  • INCREDIBLE

    congratulation

  • wow u baught all tis stuff from home depot do thry have poles a l il; thicker

  • what song is that? i really like it and it works well with your video. nice job.!

  • Its "Around the Edge" by Shimon and Nixon.

  • do you haft to put the laquer on it alot for you to slide good?

  • No, actually, the laquer provides a stickier surface and helps prevent a lot of sliding. However, if you're looking for a finish to help with sliding, I suggest you buy a brass pole and not paint it. Any pain on the surface will assist with friction.

  • how did you make this?!

  • Check out my other vids. This is a reply to the video on how to make it. :)

  • what is the measurment on that pole/conduet?? it looks so thin!!!! I have a 45mm pole which is small but this looks super slim

  • Mine is 1.25" diameter. A normal dancing pole is usually 2" diameter, but if you build your own, you an make it whatever diameter you wish. :) I like it thinner because it is easier for me to grip.

  • yeah thinner is SOOO much easier to grip..i heard the thinner the pole the more it hurts to hold on with just your legs...but if you learn on a thin pole you wont know the difference!!!

  • It is somewhat painful on the inside of the thighs and behind the knees, but I just feel more secure on it, and for that I'll deal with the pain. I actually learned on a 2", but had a few accidents on it, so I stick with my 1.25". lol

  • you look all nerdy with the glasses and wet look curly hair, poodle style

but when you start spinning with the music, u look soooooooooo cooool coooooool cooooooooool weldone

  • Um, thanks? lol My appearance works well with my little teacher get-up while working in the club. As for the music, thanks. I actually performed the tricks and edited the video with "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga, but copywright laws on YouTube forced me to change it. :)

  • i WANT A STRIPPER POLE IN MY ROOM!! my hubby would LOVE THAT!!!

  • thanks for posting the how to make your own pole i've been trying to figure out how to make my own thanks for the information

  • That's just brilliant! Please post more:)

  • just out of curiosity, Im planning on making a similar pole since you been using yours has it ever slipped out of place???

  • wow..cool. how did you make one that spins, thats terrific!!

  • Thanks! Check out my other videos. I posted a how-to video with instructions to build it. :) Let me know if you do it and if it works for you. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me!

  • That was fabulous! Good on you my DIY sister! Both you and your pole were awsome.

  • Thank you so much, PoleMistress! I am completely "YouTube" taught thanks to people such as yourself! :) I think the 8 years in dance helps to break down the process for each move, but its ultimately thanks to all the other YouTube polers!

  • it works!!! wow.

  • lol yes ma'am, it does. :)
