  • Its great!

  • This is the first song I learned on the bass guitar...it's so great.

  • the guitar in this simply amazing

  • Wow...interesting performance. I've never seen them so ripped apart. Getting that slaughtered is potentially dangerous for a mental case like Robert. I can see the video ending with him stabbing himself repeatedly. Or maybe he wasn't enthused with this becoming a taping?? Could be giving them a big F you for putting us in front of a bunch of unwanted cameras. "Would you like some of this LSD Perry? I've already had 14."

  • Ich stand in der 1. Reihe rechts und bin fast ausgeflippt. Das war soooo ergreifend!!! The Cure waren und sind immer noch die Besten!!!

  • One of my absolute favorite live verions of Disintegration.

  • One of my favourite Cure song, this drunken rendition definitely has something endearing...

  • Perry and rodgers departure was Disappointing

  • Perry blows this one away! And, yes, it's amazing -- he plays all the parts, and even adds some, unlike others we may know...

  • LOL

  • @jckjd72 And Robert always says "nobody cares who else is in the band". Yeah right.

  • Love Perry on Disintegration, he actually plays the parts!!

  • please Robert take Perry to return, we miss him!!!

  • LOL, Robert is wasted. I love it though...great with Perry's energy!

  • At the Sudoeste Festival (Portugal) in this very same year, Robert sang this on his knees... the best version I've ever seen.

  • Painful to watch, though fascinating in an awful kind of way.

  • roberts toasted

  • the ultimate CURE song,ever . . .

  • this version its awsome but record version its much better....really the sound of their guitar its incredible....wow...the cure forever

  • Poca madre de rolisima!!!! The Cure los mejores por siempre!!!!!!

  • and this is the way how they should play disintegration: slowly, with clear, emphasised bass line and with perry on guitar.

    simply magical...

  • Agree completely, Perry was my favorite Live guitarist with the Cure, he pulled out the emotion of songs, played them spot on, and did not posture every chance he got on stage, like Porl. Miss the keys as well, they lost a dynamic when they let go of the keys as well.

  • but perry never played song difficult like the blood....

  • Perry has played the blood live at festivals and on tours, sounds pretty much same as Porl, and different at same time, cause well, they are different guitarists.

  • lol sure?? I never see a Perry's version of the blood...

  • I'm not sure what you are saying? All I wanted to inform you on was that Perry has played The Blood live, and did a nice job on it, and sounded alot better back then with the keyboards as well in my opinion.

  • or for exmple i think that "never enough" is not a song for Perry.... Ah of course i love all the song made by perry or porl ;)

  • god help me, i love perrys guitar work on this song more than porls

  • Why God Help You?? Perry does a hell of alot better on most live songs, he was spot on and created some wicked sounds.. Porl is great at making noise, sloppily, and too funky in many cases...

  • perry iz crap compared to the great porl thompson so learn your stuff

  • Porl is good at funk, wah pedal distortion, and would be good back in Led Zepplin.

  • Exactly. Porl belongs with either Red Hot Chili Peppers or Led Zeppelin. The Cure need a guitarist that can capture the raw emotions of the song instead of standing there muting 16ths and playing very little of what is IN the actual recordings

  • apart from the wish tour renditions, 96 was the best for disintgration i think

  • Love the 96 version of Disintegration as well, played very massively, great use of guitars by perry and simon during that era.

  • i know the bizzare festival has been going on for 15 years now? i tried going on the official site - but its in german. how do i get tickets?

  • i know the bizzare festival has been going on for 15 years now? i tried going on the official site - but its in german. how do i get tickets?

  • yeah, Simon was the reason why I experimented with pedals on the bass. Nice and heavy on the "boss" chorus at times... wicked stuff.

  • He was not drunk. He always grabs the mic and walks alongs the first row for one song during a show.

  • Aye. He's not drunk. He's slaughtered. Watch the rest of the songs from this gig.

  • Must have the worst Cure show ever... Robert waaaay too drunk :-)

  • Yes Simon uses many Boss Effects pedals, to create all the different, jagged, and wicked sounds. He is a genius when it comes to creating bass effects, and this whole concert was fantastic, raw, powerful, and Perry even rocked hard core!

  • I was there in the front raws. It had the Cure Essence and it was a great show!

  • if you type in 'cure bizarre' there's a version of 'pictures of you' from this show where rob is just smashed, goofing up lyrics and they actually cut the volume on his guitar and perry covers the lead. kind of cool to see.

  • I was so there!!

  • this version is very raw, sloppy if you may technically, but damn, Simon's bass and Perry's guitar work are really raw! Robert sounds a bit off though, sore throat? Drunk? HA! Damn fine to hear it though

  • Do a search for more of the Cure's bizarre festival videos, they're just a mess throughout the set, all of the songs, Killing an Arab is a sloppy romp! I'd love to know the backstory to this show.

  • this version is not the best i knew...

too slow, in 1989 it was pretty good

i still love you guys and waiting for you!

  • The band sounds really good, robert sounds hung-over or ready to hurl though..

  • Perry does a good job on this one, he fills in alot of gaps, with cool noise, distortion, hey it was a festival he was having some fun!

  • The cure is such and awesome band. Just so undeniably talented.

  • I still reckon they all a bit high here lol, cept simon and jason they seem to hold together, dont see roger much.

  • Perry seems demented at start and doesnt sound amazing.

  • This is my favorite Cure song but they just aren't into the performance in this compared to the album cut (nor are they in the Trilogy performance). I caught a live video of this a few years ago on (of all places) PBS and it was FANTASTIC!! Does anyone know of a live performance (on video) where the song is faster and Robert hits the same mounting crescendo as on the album cut?

  • they seem bored at this one.

  • very rare version

Robert change lyrics and guitar doesn't have good sound

but i really enjoy so much this

  • Robert pull out my heart

  • Yes the guitar sounds good and real the way it should in this song but he is playing it very sloppily, good bass from Simon Gallup as always, Robert could of sang with a little more passion, but i still enjoyed this video

  • Wow . . . Perry was kind of out of it wasn't he . . .

  • Yeah . . .

  • Too little passion? LOL... too much drugs! This is one of the last songs of that show and he is quite inspired by now so he tries and reach to the public with this unusual version of Disitegration. I recommend to wathc the whole show... you will love it!

  • that sloppy ass guitarist is ruining one of the most amazing cure songs.
