It's the easiest alchemist in game.
Put the strategy to the alchemist on the right (tank, container - i dont know in english). You can't push him over edge.

Not only the Alchemist, it works on every enemy as well if you are fighting near a precipice, except the Concubine and the King.

My last post was confusing. Sorry.
You cant die and the game holds your hand (literally) while screaming what to do and how to do it. If you need a guide to beat a boss in this game then...im sorry.

Except you do die - every time Elika grabs your hand that is you 'dying'.
It's really just a mechanism for a quick restart after dying, rather than having the words 'you are dead' flashing up and having to sit through a load screen every single time you don't make a jump or whatever.
I can live with that...
