The AC adapter is heavy cause they use these big cheep transformers with out a power regulator on the input voltage that limits the current and the system probably draws alot of power and the click that you hear when you turn it on is probably an electronic relay switch.

Hey you made it look harder than it is to hook it up. All those consoles hooked up at one time fire hazzard dummy. Not to forget the power bill. You can buy upgrade internal parts for the controllers at best electronics. Google atari best electronics you'll find it. You showed the games that are not the best. On the witco controller their is a y ataptor missing for the atari console to allow you to hook up the original controller so you can use the start pause play button which did'nt work.
