Pilipinas Gising!!!! Mga nasa gobyerno what comes around goes around, makonsensya na kayo tigilan na corruption pinapakain nyo sa pamilya nyo galing sa nakaw! ANO BA YAN!
On Going: 2008 WCOPA (Hollywood Olympics) Manila Auditions
Filipino dancers, singers, actors, models, instrumentalists and variety artists of all ages may try-out. Call Judith or Ireen of STAGES at tel. no. (632) 818-1111 loc. 225 for audition schedule and requirements.
2008 WCOPA (Hollywood Olympics) will be held at the Universal City Walk, Hollywood, CA and Westin Bonaventure, downtown LA on July 19-26, 2008.
Then should not it have been televised the way the Olympics or a Miss Universe would world wide? And the prizes? Hmmm....it makes so many believe it's an over rated money producing organization. No offense to you Oliver. With all due respect. You are good in what you do. Thanks for hearing a strangers opinion. You have the option of deleting this message. Thank you.
The people behind WCOPA are the same people behind Ms. Universe Pageant. 2007 WCOPA was taped for television distribution. Pero kung walang bibili ng rights in the Philippines, it won't be shown here.
This is the first year Carlo Orosa and I have handled Team Phils for WCOPA. Headship was transferred to us because of our 'independent' position. We're not connected to any major TV network. We took on the challenge amidst negative press, etc. because we wanted to show to the world what great talents we have here in the Philippines. Making money was never in our agenda. If it's goin' to be that way, I'd be the first person to give up sending a team to WCOPA next year.
@ooliveros SirI hope filipino communities abroad like in saudi arabia should stop sending delegates to WCOPA.I heared this year 2010,they will send delegates again, like they did last year 2009,because they were not representing the country philippines, magkaroon sana sila ng delekadesa.Sir, If you the have the chance to talk to some organizers from filipino community in saudi arabia please tell them,to stop sending, and give respect to thier country philippines.Instead, they should give support
Ok. Oliver. Thanks. It just appears that way if you review the video over. He interrupts Aria several times.
If I may ask you Oliver...why do so many people in the industry as well as the media know the WCOPA to be over-rated than it truly is (not) and that if it were truly big (as very few Filipinos claim it to be) the winners are not at all that fantastic? Or create the "Wow" effect on so many? And to pay $3K+ to join?
Countries joining the WCOPA are mostly supported by their respective governments, like the Olympics. Unfortunately lagi late ang support from the Philippine government, ergo we have to make abono this year, including my share! USD 3k include airfare, hotel for one week, registration fees, meals and transpo allowance. It's very reasonable coz WCOPA negotiated the lowest rates with the hotel, venue, Universal City Walk, etc.
WCOPA has been primarily a venue to network with industry people in Hollywood and Broadway. Winners usually land jobs in Hollywood TV, and Broadway shows.
Maraming salamat Oliver for sharing. I am based here in LA and obvoiusly am a Filipino. Whe you mentioned- "usually", can you please specify a case/opportunity a Filipino winner has had so far here in LA or any part of the world? I have'nt heard a bit of the return of Jed Madella (2005 Over all supposively champion). Does the raod end here for him?.
And to be honest, WCOPA has been getting negative press because past Filipino contestants claim that they got top awards coz they brought home gold, silver and bronze medals. Very wrong. Medals are just like special awards given after round 1. There are 4 rounds. The real grand winners for the past three years were Jed Madela, The Cercado Sisters, Aria Clemente and Reymond Sajor.
Way to remain humble Aria. Na hahalata nang lahat na iirita ka kay raymond. He's so full of himself. "In my case this...in my case that...me, me, me I, I I ....a load of crap. Who gives a sh*t about you. Way to go Aria!

Hmm I don't think so, Reymond and Aria are very sweet together. Aria calls Reymond her 'kuya.'
