I've never known why some people have looked at this as some sort of big mystery. If you have been watching The Sopranos for a while then it's very, very clear what happened to Tony and why and who done it (or was actually behind it). There are so many clues and hints as to what happened in the end, even if you only saw the last 5 episodes and nothing else from any season, then you can still see why the end played out the way it did.........

Well, I'm not going to say it outright, because I'm sure that there will be a shit load of people who will piss all over it, but for anyone who, like myself, watched the show from the very beginning and not just for the violent element but the extremely intelligent writing....there's been an underlying theme throughout the entire run of the show which never changed, boiling below the surface. It's very simple, but everyone wants to look elsewhere.

@BRANDSTATION Tony and Carmela (james and edie) filmed a scene for a commercial promoting lebron james' potential to come over to the new york knicks. wouldnt be done with dead characters. so tony lives. carlo was suspected of testifying and later confirmed. i think maybe burt gave tips to the crews beforehand on bobbys habits, and where tony and silivio generally are, and thats probably why the hits went down the way they did.

What relevance would it have toward the show itself? Have you read anything David Chase has said on the issue? It's clear that Tony is killed. The fact he is in a commercial has zero effect one way or another.

@mmeasy123 Personally, and honestly, No. I have not read anything Chase has said. The commercial does exist and there are articles regarding it. Further, onto much bigger things; i have been told that one particular producer for the show besides getting asked about the ending; also gets asked most often: what happened to hte Russian? At several Q&A's also has said "i know what happens to Tony, and I know what happens to the Russian, and I won't tell any of you..."
