i think red herring and this one (cactus) are way beyond trance or goa trance. it's just another level...it's got a more techno influence...it's not cheesy and not too asiatic...it's just abstract futuristic space music. also as far as i know there is no other cactus from 94 , it's the same reprinted on another label...maybe u're thinking of red herring wich is very similar.

@andygaro1 ok dude, firstly, acid trance and goa trance are brother styles, both influenced by acid house wit its tb 303. union jack is an european producer, goa trance is the first trance style in the psychedelic movement. acid trance and goa trance ahev the root of classic pure trance from the late 80s. goa trance and acid trance are very close, little differences are goa uses elements of psychedelic rock and indian percussions and melodies. so this song is european acid trance.

this is not Goa Trance, but probably Acid Trance, because this track sounds like Classic Trance, isn't Progressive too. Acid Trance is a hybrid of Classic Trance and Acid House. Classic Trance is a hybrid of Chicago House, Detroit Techno, Ambient and Industrial.

@RAJfromGOA i've heard of goa trance long ago, and i know what the way it sounds. this is the acid trance version of cactus by union jack, released in '96, and the original first version in '94 is progressive trance. first of all, goa trance is oriental, uses indian music and psychedelic layers and is more energetic, and second - union jack is not a goa trance dj. have you heard that acid trance and goa trance use acid house elements? you need to learn more, dude ;)

actually its acid-trance but with goa elements like almost all those stuff within the early 90s - the first real goa album i got is from 1993 and during this time goa mostly was made by mixing acid trance with house together - thats why terra ferma or junion jack and even some old commercial house tracks have goa elements - especially the platipus label was one of the first who released goa tracks till the goa labels came out - that was the time when goa was formed by all those influences ;-)
