if you want to grow an indoor tree here are 5 steps youll need:

1. Make an area 6x6x6 7x7x7 8x8x8 or 9x9x9.

2. Make sure that the area is very well lit

3. Get bone meal.

4. Right click it.

5. Done!

You should make an incinerator to get rid of the extra items. Just make a hole to put lava in, get a bucket full of lava and fill her in :3

I don't know what you did wrong, but trees can take a while to grow. Also, if you go too far away on the X and Z axis the timer stops and the tree's growth wont progress. So stay close and wait.

Trees won't grow unless they are in direct sunlight, sadly xD I once tried to grow them in a greenhouse type structure with glass, but they wouldn't grow even though that :c So I'm pretty sure the only way to get the trees to grow is by opening up the roof over them so the sunlight can reach them c:

Actually,they don't need direct sunlight.I have a tree farm way underground.All you have to do is to make sure the tree sapling has atleast 6 free blocks above it,otherwise it doesn't have WHERE to grow C;

Trees grow underground, provided there are either torches around the sapling you plant, on at least 4 sides, and one block below the dirt block. And at the same time, make sure the tree has at least 2 blocks to grow on either side, and about 6 blocks up (a 5x5x6 block so to speak, taking the middle block of the sapling into consideration)

Putting water nearby will also speed up sapling growth.

@ESDAFable Trees only need a certain level of light. Place a torch DIRECTLY next to the sapling (planted in dirt or grass) and make sure there's 5 empty spaces (maximum reach) above it. Then, wait.

@ESDAFable You need the space of abut.. 3 blocks across per sapling for a tree to grow :] They'll also grow straight away with bonemeal at this space too so :D

You should really crouch when you harvest so you won't have to re-plow them again. :D

@JouninAkisa that's a good suggestion, but since hoes are cheap to make and i like to run across my fields, i prefer not crouching. If I've got a more formal farming operation going on, I'd definitely crouch to keep myself from having to till like 50 squares all over again.
