As a child I was also made aware of that horrible event in the early 60's; a defenseless women ignored and left for dead due to apathy and fear. Sully's demonstration of this sense of, and empathy towards, humanity is core to our survival as a species. He says, and more importantly, acts with that conviction. We may never be in a position to save lives, like this hero, but a even little kindness and consideration goes a long way. What an example he is.

@kuul123 ...I remember hearing about the Kitty Genovese murder incident when I was a little kid, and thought it was about the clearest indictment of urban culture of the '60s I'd run across.
