Thanks for posting this up for us. An exceptionally fine song by a very gifted songwriter. If we ever find our way out of this musical darkness we find ourselves in, it will songwriters like this that will lead us out. Thanks again.
Spock, Freedy introduced this song by saying he'd written the music for it, which he called "sorta fake jazz" about 10 years before the Perfect World sessions, and was just fooling around playing it in the studio when Butch heard it and said yo, what's that, and Freedy said, it's not a song, and Butch said well make it a song, and voila! he put the words down and that's the story of Cold Again...met him between sets at this tiny venue in my hometown, he posed for pix , signed autographs
@deborama19 That's a really cool story Deb, thanks for sharing it. I met and spoke with Freedy once too and he's a very very nice guy, not at all aware of who he is and what he means to the music world. One of those people you meet for 5 minutes and feel like you've known him all your life, he really is very open with his fans. So many other musicians and songwriters could take a lesson from Freedy Johnston. Again, thanks for sharing.
A very very nice guy and a brilliant songwriter who never gets the recognition he deserves. Thanks for the story behind the song Deb. So great that you got to hang out with him for a while.
