@pudding247 He is surely a liar. Not b/c of the glue though. At a club at my school we built craft stick bridges. My friend built one just like that. It didn't even hold 20 pounds. The only way you could build a strong bridge is if you put trusses on the top and bottom to absorb the compression and tension. If you get West Point Bridge Designer Software you could test my statement. Trusses on the top only fail.

little heads up, try not to use hot glue because of expansion and is a little weak but use a wood or even white glue then clamp tight
