The danger of a runway surrounded by homes, parks and a gas station will maybe open the FAA and S.M. City Council's eyes and change their unwillingness to provide safety. The FAA proposes for every new airport 1000ft. buffer zone on each side of a runway. Why not here in midst of the most densely populated area for a GA runway in all of the US? Everyone who reads this and is similarly outraged, please show your support by attending the S.M.C.C. meeting August 28 at 7p.m. to voice your opinion.
