  • Wow, I didn't know he could speak Japanese. And it sounds so beautiful when he speaks it.

  • I live in Canada and I'm lucky because right in front of my province is an island which is super big!

  • We are all George Takei!

  • seriously, who the fuck disliked this? do they have a soul? i'd guess not.

  • @sora201 Perhaps they disliked it because of the reason of they dislike the tsunami ever happened?

  • I think Mr. Takei said Gaman means Patients, Treaty, and Restrained

  • from those of us in Japan, thank you.

  • i didnt here much about it in the last weeks, is the situation better now? i hope so

  • Gambate George. I lived in Japan for 23 years and am marrried to a wonderful

Japanese Lady 40 years. 2 grown sons, both married to Japanese girls. It will

always be in my heart. Oh, and I worked in Japanese movies and TV for 10 years

    before coming home.

  • Having studied abroad there, this disaster hit me like it was my home (which it is). To support and encourage them, I accepted to go work there (on the JET Program) and hope I can make a difference, one child at a time. 頑張れ日本! <3

  • 我々は、これが起こったが、すべて気の毒に思う。私は、このメッセージは、将来の微細行います取得誰にでもいいことがあなたの人生やあなたの子供の静物で二度とこのような災害を通過する必要があります。

  • I wish the tsunami had taken out that music.

  • Hi there, My name is Katherine. I live in Seattle WA. I just recorded a song to raise money for Japan and the children. Would you be interested in hearing my song and maybe putting it to your video?? My phone number is 206.249.1725, hope to hear from you soon.

  • send message at facebook fan page 'go healthy'

  • I was born in Japan in 1954, and until I was about 10, never thought there was a difference between Japanese and Americans, save a language and a different history.

I am a Wiccan, and through an organized (how unlike us!) Pagan effort, Pagans have raised $30,000 in two weeks or less, for Doctors Without Borders. As always, I wish I could do more, but drop by drop, we turn a mill.

  • I'm Japanese in Japan. Mr. Sulu / Mr.Kato gives a nice message to us from Japanese Americans. Japanese people might feel strange to hear the song of Gaman because we do not sing like this about Gaman. However, the meaning of words can often be changed in the context of cultures. In the society of Japanese immigrants in the US, both Gaman and Shikata-ga-nai represent the personality of Japanese. I have a objection against it; though, what Geroge Takei wants to say is OK.

  • @kyokonkyochin This isn't about George Takei, this isn't about gay people, this isn't about how to pronounce a word, its about helping Japan in a time of crisis, doesn't matter if you're Japanese or not, we're all human beings, and right now all the human beings in Japan need help, and if anything you're a wannabe Japanese. You're people need help, and you'd rather insult George Takei who is willing to give a helping hand and wants to inspire others to help as well. People like you make me sick

  • @kyokonkyochin And fortunately, you do not speak for all humans. Show compassion, have a heart, and support this message regardless of the messenger. Takei may "shame" you, but he doesn't shame all Japanese.

  • @kyokonkyochin pfft, you flatter yourself, I don't need acceptance from some random douchebag, especially on youtube of all places, and I'm so over anime, its all about video games, but they're not even the asian RPG final fantasy kinda games either, you're an idiot

  • @acealexander702 Wow what a comeback :rolling eyes: Your gay nerdy social reject faggot ass isn't into anime 'anymore'. You've moved on to jagging off to video games. WOW! WHAT A STEP UP! :ROLLING EYES: Good job in making yourself look even more lame you fucking wannabe HAHA! You'll never be Japanese you fucking filipino monkey :-p

  • @kyokonkyochin pfft, troll much? I don't need to be japanese you idiot, I'm not trying to be japanese, roll your eyes back to your porn window fag, go kill yourself over getting a B+ on your homework if you're so japanese you bitch :)

  • @kyokonkyochin From one Japanese to another: show a little dignity, please. You're embarassing us. Thanks.

  • @cuideag 最低だお前!

  • @kyokonkyochin I don't think anyone actually believes you, anyway. We're raised better than you've been, obviously. But keep on trying! Maybe someday, you'll get your wish and somebody might think you're Japanese. Won't that be wonderful? You won't have to pretend anymore and your life will have meaning.

  • @cuideag No one believes what? That George Takei is a faggot that loves sucking white cock? Go search on the internet and check for yourself you stupid wannabe Japanese! You can't even speak or read Japanese :roling eyes:

  • @kyokonkyochin Your defensiveness speaks volumes. I'm certain your fellow weeaboos are very impressed with you - trolling YouTube! Maybe they'll call you "leader." Won't that be nice? Now how about you be a good little boy and get on with your homework. Maybe if you get good enough grades, someone will see you as something more than a waste of space. Your poor mother must be heartbroken.

  • @kyokonkyochin yourpatheticyourpatheticyourpatheticyourpatheticyourpatheticyourpatheticyourpathetic

    yourpatheticyourpatheticyourpatheticyourpatheticyourpatheticyourpathetic

    yourpatheticyourpatheticyourpatheticyourpathetic......*sighs* my work is done

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • どうもありがとう、タケイさん from Sendai, Miyagi

  • the 1911 thing doesnt really fit with this video....

  • im really wanna help so bad

  • there not starving. like the people of hadi?

  • @GLWillaims Even in a developed nation, a major disruption to food production and distribution infrastructure can create massive food shortages in a very short time. The more concentrated the population in a city, the more quickly food stocks on the shelves run out. And if more isn't delivered right away, hunger, especially in bad conditions, becomes acute. Add to this the fact that homes and warehouses were literally washed away in places, and even supplies in those places are gone. ='[.]'=

  • its amazing how much class these people have in times of crisis. not looting and killing like the animals in new orleans and hatai.

  • is brenda song japanese?

  • I am American and I say to all the people in japan.Stay strong be patient things are going to get better we as Americans have gone threw so much and threw time we all heal. We hope you work as one whole nation ,and get threw this problem like the beautiful humble people you all are Good Luck Japan. America wishes you well and prosperity in the future .

  • woah....

  • No hate on this video

  • We are praying and hoping that Japan will overcome!

  • This guy said at 1:21 "We are all Japanese" I don't know about that.

  • @omarmontes90 i know. what a fucking idiot

  • @omarmontes90 nice of you to leave out the first part of what he said...

Context is everything. and he is right, in context because if you dont feel for the Japanese in this time of need, you are not even human. So, yeah, we HUMANS are all Japanese at a time like this.

  • @rdrakken ur a pussy

  • Japan has the third largest economy in the world and they can take care of themselves. You have already been contributing to the Japanese for the past 40 years through purchases of their products. This is a chance for various charity groups to line their own pockets and send the rest to a country that does not need the money. If you want to make a difference, make a donation to aid groups in this country in the name of Japan. Charity begins athome.

  • 72 people are going to find themselves at gods gates wondering why they are being sent to hell. well its because you all have no soul.

  • BOYCOTT TUCSON AZ THEY KILLED MY DOG SUKI ON 1/5/2011

  • thật buồn cho nhật bản

  • jopanların amına zencir vurmayın

  • Hello Japan i wll help they

  • The US media have used this horrible disaster to promote their green energy agenda. You would think the nuclear reactors of Japan caused the Earthquake and tsunami, watching the coverage here.

  • should everyone help them

  • @srishree7 yes they should. I personally and getting in touch with FEMA. I'm a construction welder and am hoping to go over the summer.

  • I am deeply moved by the tragedy in Japan and wish there was something I could possibly do to help these people and this country rebuild and heal. I do not see Japan as a separate place from here...there may be thousands of miles of ocean between Japan and USA; however; we are forever linked by history and by the Japanese-Americans living right here as we have American citizens living in Japan. Where once we were enemies and strangers, now we are friends and neighbors! Let us all help Japan..

  • why don tyou send your money takei like most of it

  • I have forwarded your video and email to hundreds of people. I helped a dinner that raised $40,000 for Japan Tsunami relief. You inspired me to do it. The world needs more Gaman. You are an excellent human.

  • sedey+cian,,

  • sedey+cian

  • Wonder how many pandas died

  • @Bigpimping808

    pandas don't live in japan

  • Very moving! Let's help the Japanese people.

  • question is : how can a nation as Japan be so unprepared ? Any country in the west would handle that catastrophe better ! What happened with competent people in Japan ?

  • @mojoboy1984, they spent a lot of money to prepare for this acctually, all the structures were built under strict regulations for earth quakes and they got many people to high ground or safe areas before the tsunami hit

  • Japan will be fine. They are fighters and one of the most intelligent nations in the world. However, they are still human and need our support. Please do whatever you can to help this wonderful country. Namaste.

  • Crap, now that Helmsman Sulu has told me to, I have to donate money now

  • At times like these we are all Japanese? Wow, I am so glad that Japan may be becoming less Xenophobic. I love Japan and it's people - just a shame that it took such a disaster to show a nation that it is not independant from the rest of the world. Anybody feel the same about this?

  • @Hexenblut9 japan is my favorite country, but indeed many japanese, mostly elders, hate foreigners, they were isolated from the rest of the world and their hatred and fear was fueled by world war and other conflicts, they have their reasons to hate everyone, unless world peace will be established, there will still be xenophobic people in japan even after this disaster, it's only natural

  • @Anonaym0us I speak japanese don't argue

  • its so sad... Japan is my favorite land, i love animes and movies from japan... and now... this horrible disaster... i realy want to help them... :(

  • @EnvyNarutoGirl well bitching on the internet won't help

  • BTW, songs don't help countries they just help artists' careers, and only inspire a very small amount of people to actually donate, what makes people donate is making inspiring videos and giving good reasons, not songs, so please don't waste your time making songs, and start making inspirational videos or something creative

  • @EnvyNarutoGirl fucking failure

  • @IncoherentCommenter Dude, she's a teenager, give her a break. Everyone starts out young and everyone learns things as they get older. The only thing that's a failure is that you're either a liar calling a young person a failure or a 90 year old calling a young person a failure. Get over yourself and grow up as much as you think EnvyNarutoGirl should. Don't be a hypocrite.

  • @EnvyNarutoGirl >NarutuGirl

    NOPE

  • i will pray for your faster recovery.

  • i will for your faster recovery.

  • how pity is japan,

  • Too many disasters....too many corrupt aid organizations. I donated a lame $50 to the haiti relief fund to some christian aid network and learned later they bought bibles with my

money.....personally i didnt believe you can feed too many people with bibles but apparently

i was wrong. Sadly, that country still looks like hell today.

  • @civicnation4two

sounds like something a religious group would do, greedy bastards! they just bought bibles because its easier to brainwash people when they don't have anything left. root of all evil starts above money its religion. blood suckers!

  • this makes me want to help everyone.

  • @pimakilledsuki Arizona is a piece of shiet state.

  • Japanese are great people.

  • If this beautiful plea doesn't touch your heart...nothing will. We ALL must share our blessings with our brothers and sisters in the far east in their time of need.

  • Pakistan sends 3 jet plane with Goods to help Japan...

  • disasters such as this... occurring in modern societies where the majority of the victims are educated, especially in a society like Japan that places a high value on engineering education... this disaster may have costs that we can never know... who knows what children have been killed, what aspiring college student... what genius has been lost to humanity on this day... its not just a loss for Japan but all of humanity

  • aww... this is sooo sweet

all i can do right now is only pray for Japan! :(

  • @cindylove1997 sorry, but your prayer ain't doing nothing. They need real help: money, supplies, aid--REAL relief.

  • @warmupgig douchebag to you

  • @warmupgig oh, i already donate money in school sooo, donate + pray isn't that better?

  • I hope that all of Japan gets better and that everyone is helping each other and getting help from foreign countries as well. Japan, you are a great country and nation! God has not abandoned you, so the rest of the world will not abandon you either.

  • OMG im sorry for the ppl who lost someone and please remain safe im hopeing that all the ppl artists and authors and anime craters are fine without them half of my childhood is gone and my life it wouldnt be the same without japan actaually think how some of us depend on japan im so going to try to help out

  • Japan, we are ALL praying for you :) love from Portugal.

  • Japanese have such a strong culture with strong values that even during a hurricane they form a line for miles just to get a handfull of food and water. They value education, community and citizenship. They teach their young to value helping others, live as a community not as one, and get an education. In America, after Katrina, Americans were breaking store windows and beating each other up to get food. It was complete chaos. Americans don't value any of the things the Japanese do. Help Nihon

  • /watch?v=Zl-naATwhWw&feature=channel_video_title

Please watch my video responding to Japan's distress.

  • @nathstei1 its disaster not distress ..

  • Thank you for your message Mr. Takei. I have been feeling down because I have only been able to donate a little $ and make a video to inspire people to help. It still feels like it's not enough but I now feel at least I have done something worth while.

Keep helping everyone! there are tons of ways to help out not just giving $ search the web.

  • The Japanese are amazing. You never hear of them murdering, raping, looting or police killing innocent people through this tragedy! VERY STRANGE!

  • @RandomTask2008 yeah, guess what, every country has people that do that, its not like your country wherever you live is perfect, but you weren't hit with a natural disaster such as this were you? they deserve help they are America's ally

  • @warrennguyen08 You miss my point I live in the US and people here think they are" ENTITLED" to whatever they want even if it means murder, rape, looting during a crisis. During hurricane Katrina down south even the police were looting the stores! We didn't here about any such goings on in Japan. We all could learn from them how to get along in a disaster such as this!

  • We hope for a qucik recovery for Japan. Be strong. you will overcome this. Regards from Sri Lanka.

  • I can help by Praying for all of you to God :) Hope that you`ll accept that.

  • Yes Japan is a wealthy nation but they are heavily indebted.

Prior to this Tsunami they were planning major cuts but now they face a situationt that will exacerbate their debt crisis.

  • japan goverment is very rich ! no money help needed at all. the real help the sufferred japanese need is the rescue efficiency and ability of japan goverment .
