acoustic samarai is an awesome album done live in japan with an acoustic guitar, a bass player and the occasional kick of his guitar case. check out the acoustic version of scarified. i get hand cramp just listening. truly terrifying fret work. can u imagine somebody busking this stuff in the middle of town
@thebluesman765 well i think playing nylon strung isnt so dissimilar than electric, i know that sounds silly but surely many guitarists who play this type of stuff recognise that for some unknown reason its easier to play fast on, unlike a steel strung, spanish music or yngwies adagio are a perfect example
so the question i ask is just "how does paul play that fast period..." if i manage to gain half of the insight that man has about putting theory into practice then i'll die a happy man,
@TheLydianRocks couldn't agree more. I actually play my classical a lot more when im practicing mainly because i cant always play so loud and i dont like playing on an electric quietly but also when you practice on a nylon its a lot easier later when you play on an electric. simply because its easier to shred on an electric so you get used to the conditions of playing on a nylon
I still think the best track on acoustic samurai is I Am Satan

He's Paul Gilbert. He's the best flatpicker around. That's how he does it on acoustic. : )
