Hello! I'm looking for the show of Cattle dog work with Cattle. Chould you please send some information of the ranch which has cattle dog work with cattle in Australia? My e-mail address:Michelle_Hsu@weichuan.com.tw thank you very much!
Hey - this looks really good!! Just wondering though, do you need specialist skills to actually do it? Or can you just pick it up as you go along?? do they teach you? thanks.. Oli
I do a bit of roping and was wondering if you had ever tried roping a kangaroo? I was going to try roping a deer but an oldtimer told me when they hit the end of the rope they charge the horse, so I put that idea on the back burner for awhile. Just wondering.
Do you guys accept any country? I'm from Iceland and this is something I really really wanna do! Something to share for the rest of my life ;). Already read about everything on your website, but just to be sure. :D
Apply through your school, government program, college or university. It should be as easy for you as for anyone else. Eu countries have equal access under Australian universities policies.
By the way, coming from this wide brown land, I have always wanted to see Iceland.
Doesnt look like it, Realgap wont help me, and I gotta apply through Germany or denmark, and they wont help me aswell. So I guess if i want to work on ranch I gotta do it without realgap.
And Iceland is very warm against tourists :). I would advice coming here in the summers, its amazing! Not just the sun 24-7. People are brighter aswell hehe.
No, the cost for the programme pays for your initial accommodation, meals, transport and farm-training. We then find you placements, and you begin working on the ranches you receive payment which usually includes free food and accommodation as well.
Hi 20omas08 - the programme is £699-799 depending on your departure date. You will also need a flight to Oz, which start at around £600, insurance for 12 months we we can offer you at £409, and a working holiday visa, £150. Why not give us a call on 01892 516164 for more details.
I thinking of doing this. Being from Ireland, australia would be like a whole other world. Never worked with cattle though. How much on top of the £899 it states on the website would you need.
give you an idea the Douglas lake ranch in canada runs 20,000 on 500,000 acres of land. but we still get a fair bit of rain and snow for moisture here.
how did you get there? and do you know how to arrange it. i would love to work in australie, but i can't find the right information. can you please help me?
Just go on the Real Gap website or call them. They sort everything out for you from Visa, flights, insurance. It relatively cheap and well worth it in every way
Hi, im really interested in this programme and am looking to go in around 6 months when i finish my Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering. I have no real agricultural experience however am experienced in diesel engines, welding and general fabrication. Am willing to get my hands dirty and pick up most practical things. It's great that these young people enjoyed the out back and their brief experience.
Real Gap is offering a lifetime experience here and it great that so many are taking it up.
