I chose the mouse ears that looked just like the Mouseketeer hats, KNOWING what those ears were from OTHER than just Mickey. My mom also taught me how to sing The Mickey Mouse Club March with the help of that show, since we didn't have that song on any tapes.
Nice that they showed the old photos to see them then and now. A few of them still closely resemble how they looked at a younger age. My old childhood crush, the late Cheryl Holdridge, still had the same pretty smile that lit up the MMC stage 25 years earlier. Sad that we've lost a few of them along with the adults on the show - Jimmie, Roy, and Bob.
Ok..where's a lunatic with a large piece of lumber to chase these people off the stage before they were allowed to embarrass themselves. I was half expecting Jerry Lewis to walkout asking pledges for his new fund raising event to help these people get a life.
Did you know that Larry Larsen is THE oldest Mouseketeer EVER (joined at age sixteen)? And he's still alive today at the age of 81! (born September 3, 1939) Bronson is the youngest Mouseketeer (at the time of the original MMC, joined at age seven) and she's alive today at the age of 73 (born July 21, 1947)
most of the guys looked like they'd rather be ANYWHERE else but on that reunion show! They ALL looked like HUGE porn stars and it was 1980 so they were probably all "Uggh! We have Coke to snort and chicks to bang over at studio 54! Can we get this faggy reunion over with already?"
Cheryl must have been real nice. Her dearest friend Doreen was at her side when she passed on. Tommy Cole stated that he also was visiting Cheryl since her end was near. Tommy said he went home tired on the night of Jan 5 and Cheryl died the next morning just a few hours after he left her bedside. However, Doreen was with her when she passed.
and Cheryl must have been real nice. Her dearest friend Doreen was at her side when she passed on. Tommy Cole stated that he had spent time at Cheryl's bedside but went home tired on the night of Jan 5. Cheryl died a few hours after he left her bedside but Doreen was there
There are 31 Mouseketeers here. there were 39 in all.
These 8 did not appear here: Nancy Abbate, Don Grady, Dallas Johann, John Lee Johann, Paul Peterson, Bronson Scott, Jay-Jay Solari, and Mark Sutherland.
I met Bobby Burgess years ago when he was touring with the lawrence welk show. He told me lots of stories about the MMC - told me about Karen who was paralyized from the waist down - told me that Cheryl was a b*tch and did not have nice things to say about her - I burst out laughing - I was 18 at the time so it was pretty funny.
I do know that Cubby for a long time played drums for the Carpenters and he kept his mouse ears on the piano. Very sad about Annette - I wonder how she is doing?
@SnowflakeSparkles26 You seem to be correct. Both Doreen & Tommy visited her during her last illness. Tommy Cole stated in an interview that he went home tired on the night of Jan 5 (2009) & Cheryl died the following morning - with Doreen at her side. Also - In Nov 1964, Cheryl took her new hubby to visit Jimmie in Hawaii during his illness. Jimmie did not awaken while she was there & died the day after she left, making her the last Mouseketeer to have seen Jimmie alive
I never seen these but I feel like I know know some of these people from movies like Night at the Museum for Mickey Rooney I don't know if I'm right or not I might be wrong. can anyone refresh my memory for these people? I was born in the 90s so I don't really know I am 16 and I was born In 94 I could've sworn I know some of these people or all of them I'm soo confused.
Disney affected my family, we have been to Disneyland several times. It is a must see at least once in your life, lots of stuff to do, arrive at park opening time as it is an all day event--do not hesitate, get a map and plan your day. I never collected Disney stuff, I really like science fiction and Disney does all of the fantasy things, I bought a solar powered calculator there; it is still a good, family, fun trip--enjoy yourself.
If there were a reunion show today, of a popular children's show from years back, the cast would band together and hold out for much more money. Then each would seek "negative" publicity by; showing up drunk or high, showing up late, walking off the set, delaying production, getting into fights, and of course, the planned nip slip or southern exposure slip. The days of cooperation are truly over folks.
This is so cool. I remember watching this special when it aired originally, and of course, I remember the original series. I can't believe I still remember most of those kids! Thanks so much!
Damn! All these Mouseketeers! It reminds me of Family Guy when Peter watched the early Maude episode with the really long opening credit sequence!!! LMAO!!!! xD
How has Karen Pendleton held up? Is she still out there. She was my favorite. I always envied Cubby cause he was always teamed up with her. I had a really BIG crush on her. Ahhhh...puppy love of an 8 yr old.
Karen was disabled in a car accident not long after this special. But from what I've read she's doing fine and doing some activism on behalf of the disabled.
There were other Mouseketeers, circumstances of whom made it unable for them to appear. Among them, Mark Sutherland, Bronson Scott, Jay-Jay Solare, and Nancy Abbate.
Apart from Annette, it was Sharon who had the most sucsessful showbiz carreer, although her face was never seen again. She played a wide variety of the 'creatures' in the Kroft kidshows.
Also Bobby Burgess was on the Lawrence Welk Show starting in 1960. His first appearence was dancing calcutta with Barbara Boylin. He was on the show till it was cancelled.

When did Jimmy and Roy pass on ? and why?
Rollman1 2 years ago
Jimmy passed on November 10, 1964 from cancer at the age of 54.
Some sources say Roy passed on November 10, 1976 and another source says November 7, 1976, so not sure, and I don't know what from.
