Best version of this song sung only by the best: Mr. JOHNNY MATHIS...the greatest singer this lifetime will ever know... God bless you Johnny Mathis.. I love you. Jane in Ohio
Interesting... he's obviously singing over the recording of himself with the Percy Faith Orchestra-- you can occasionally hear him in the background on the recording; but he is singing it live for this video. I wonder what this was for?
I've always loved his interpretation of this song... one of the most beautiful ever made.
@rcktmanil I do not agree that he is singing over his recoreded version ..if u compare the two there are many variations to the way he sang some of the words...especially at the end note of the song ...plus the recorded version sound a more younger voice.. he is the greatest of all time, i love this man to death.
@derclaud2 This is his older voice. The younger version is lighter and even enunciated differently. It only makes sense that as he aged he felt more comfortable singing in a lower key. His skill is in still giving the Mathis uniqueness and effect, allbeit obviously different from a twenty to twenty-two-year-old Johnny.
absolutely a live version.
