  • no fuckin' around wow look at that motor ., i have a 76' cordoba with a 360

  • Somewhat you must like a crown vic or ltd which is the biggest pos there is I don't understand why the police drive those cars back then

  • Why would anyone put money into a car like that that was not very good when it was sold, let alone20 years later?

  • Im planning on putting a 360 in my 85, what do i all need for electronics for the engine, just the main computer or what?

  • thanks for the info. mark, i'll keep you posted on my project. a guy in town claims he has a '71 340 out of a duster but he wants an arm and a leg, with a foot attached, for it. he doesn't want to give me the block stamp numbers so i'am not sure what he has so thats why i use the word "claims". again thank you and go easy on the fords and chev's i have a feeling they will get alot of views of your tail lights, lol.

  • Awesome, motor sounds very strong..

  • get QTP eletric exhaust, its a dream! iv got it on my mustang.

  • @UFCownage: I just might have to do that. They're not as expensive as I would have thought either. Thanks!

  • @thedukeof5a hey man no problem, great car you got there !.

  • awsome car, i have an '88 and in the process of buying another. one of them is gonna get redone. questions, what year is the 360 block you used? what kind of et/mph will she turn at the strip. when i was a teenager back in the sixties, a buddy of mine did this, he wrecked his "64 ss/409 and swapped the drive train into a stock 4 dr. impala, man i ll tell you he scared alot of guys drag racing out on the back roads where we used to go race. thanks for the video and the idea.

  • @moparmenace59: No track times yet unfortunately. The block is a 1985 pulled from a Ram Charger. All of the 360 LA blocks from there inception on up to 1988 went largely unchanged. If you're starting from scratch, either find yourself an 89-91 360 block, or get a Magnum block. The last three years for the LA 360 block saw the addition of provisions for a roller cam shaft. Magnums had rollers as well.

  • nice car man !! reminds me of the cop cars used in the movie ''SEE NO EVIL HEAR NO EVIL'' GREAT MOVIE LOL..

  • Awesome Mark. I had a dippy with a 360 and was a runner to. enjoy your Mopar. can we get an in car shot with the foot on the floor? LOl

  • @crashman44b: I might be able to do you on better this year, I might actually get it to the track. Thanks for the comment!

  • thats one classy beast

  • Wow I was thinking headders for my diplomat but holy crap man beautufull car. I LOVE MY DIPLOMAT SO YOU ENJOY THIS BEAUTY.

  • One bad ass car my friend i have a 87 fifth ave she not as nice as urs tho did a nice job

  • A very beautiful car u have good taste my friend i have a 87 fifth with a bored out 318 no one thinks a 4 door can beat then but wen its built right it can

  • This is what I would do if I saved every check my grandma gave me, and spent it on her car :)

  • I have one 5th Ave -88 its a good car. I import it to sweden from usa...

  • Really? That's damn cool. I would never have expected anyone to pay to ship an M body of all things over to Europe. Got any plans for it?

  • @thedukeof5a Hello i love mopar`s , It is my everyday cruiser instead of a dam Volvo!!!

  • I like your 5th avenue.I got a good motor in my 5th avenue i rebuilt it but i need a nice body to drop it into! Its a 318 in mine. Those 360s are awsome i had one in a dodge truck and they got the horses..

  • you sneaky bastard :D i see mopar parts on that beast!!! now i see why its so fucking amazing! i cant wait to get one for like 300 dollars or somthing and get my bro and my dad to help me supe it up! i think i spelled it wrong but if you could tell me in a messege how to get it like yours so i can have it nicely done and the total cost you have in it that would be great :)

  • A beautiful car. Unfortunately in Europe it`s hard to find a 5th Avenue or a (also cool) dodge diplomat..

Why do all the new cars look like guinea pigs..?! ; )

  • Im too from Europe (Norway) Most cars nowadays are depressing, rather walk than have a expendable plastic hatchback...

  • You`re right : /

maybe I buy an old mercedes 420 SEL sumday (or something like that) instead of an american car... but I really would like to drive such a cool vehicle one time

PS: Aerodynamics make cars ugly ; )

  • Cool, I might buy a 75 New Yorker or A 80's Chevy truck, but it's definatly gonna be something American.

  • Thanks!

There is a few guys on the other side of the pond with M body cars. There are a few over at Farley's Dodge Diplomat Forum. One of them took his slant six Diplomat and did a 318 V8 conversion.

  • Talk about a sleeper!

  • Nah, too loud to be a sleeper. :-)

  • @thedukeof5a When you don't open the headers up, It is. Nice car.

  • @vitolizer There used to be a fellow here in town who ran a 5th Avenue with a 440 with a 4-35 mini blower. It still had all the power accessories including cold AC. It would run 11-second quarters with the AC on and dip into the 10's with the AC off. When the owner passed away, the car was donated to the Garlit's museum in Ocala. I still see it every year during the annual Mopar swap meet.

  • sounds good

  • Definetly one of a kind! Congrats.

  • cool, a suped up PIMPMOBILE! definitely don't see that much

  • thats not something you see ever day i love it dude ill just remeber not to pull up beside you acting all cool and all you probly blow my doors off lol!!!

  • i got a 1987 5th ave i got four $350

  • One of the coolest things about M bodies is that they're dirt cheap. :-)

  • That is pretty sweet!!

  • Kudos to you! THAT IS DIFFERENT! I was looking for a G.F. or Dippy (ex-cop), but I have now seen the light! The anonymous sleepy look of a 5th avenue with a healthy small block. Have you weighed it?

  • Hey, thanks! Haven't weighted it yet though. Even with removing the A/C and the aluminum top end on the motor, the added weight of the trans and the 8.75" probably cancels it all out. Makes for a better weight bias though. I'm going to guess somewhere right under 4,000 pounds without me in it. I'm going to see if I can get it weighed this weekend.

  • how do u hook up the a aftermarket tach in or vehicles mines a diplomat any help would be goood

  • Most after market tachs will have four leads. One goes to switched power, one to ground, one for the instrument light, and the other goes to the negative side of the coil. Really easy to wire up.

  • yeah man I had the primer diplomat at the seven 11 on 9 mile its has a 318 interceptor in it with flows an eldobrok preformer package

Z-gate BM shifter its a start but i have a 360 in the works with a high energy 462' 478' lift comp cam headers Aero j heads air gap intake 727 trans 2200 stall a with at least 10 :1 30 over slugs by the way are your header universal small block headers i have the same ones if they are I just wonder will they fit or do they sale universal shorty for our cars

  • dude you were at the haper cruise your mopar sound great with open headers did u light it up the cops were everywere even on foot at times no car but mopar

  • On a side street leaving a friends house I did. :-) Yeah, way too many cops and pedestrians to do burnouts. Thanks for the compliment. Were you out there cruising?

  • my buddy has a 89 fifth avenue and the rear end is gone at the moment due to all the donuts and burnouts. last night we got PIGZ called on us for doin donuts at a gas station and flinggin rocks at a stupid ass hole.

  • Hey sweet car! I have a 83 that I just dropped a fuel injected 318 out of a 94 ram pickup in and it works great. Now I would like to get the A500 tranny so I can change the rear axle ratio so it will have more power starting from a stop. What kinda rims do you have? They look great!

  • Cool, when I was younger, my dad bought an old one that was a police impound. It was an 88; that was the late 90s, and man, it really was a piece of shit. Couldn't get out of it's own way. Just a big old jalopy that was lucky to get 10 mpg, but still a ton of fun to take trips in, haha. That was back in the days when gas was a buck a gallon.

  • What are the specs on the motor? From what I can see and hear, 360, Air Gap Intake, sounds like a purple camshaft, and compression under 10-1 or there abouts? Let me know. I have a Volare I'm building as well. Sweet !!

  • Complete engine specs are listed in the beginning of the video. :-)

I like F bodies. There is a real nice Super Coup I see local all the time. Haven't gotten close enough to it yet though to check it out.

  • I'd say start looking around for a 727 if you're still running the 904. Once you do some burnouts or push it the 904 will crap out... 'course maybe it wont. I sure miss my 5th Ave. They're getting scarce here in Colorado and I'm sure everywhere. I wanted to try yanking a fuel injection system off a 318 Dodge Dakota as that's really the only modern conveinience a 5th doesn't have.

  • I wanted to do this to mine but the a-904 tranny is too weak (need a 727) and the shit 71/2 rear end is too weak and the suspension cant handle the torque (need cop springs). Nice motor though, and a great cruiser but mufflers give a touch of elegance to such a grand beast.

  • I've been playing around with the idea of putting quieter mufflers on and electric dumps instead of the manuals.

What if I told you the trans that is in the car now is 904 based? :-)

  • i have the same car, same color and every thing, about to put flowmasters on it soon

  • i have that exact same car same paint job even, i have a few questions though, where did you get the wheels? and what kind of exhaust do you have on it? and also mine hesitates or sputters between 25mph to 45mph my mechanic said it was either one of the sensors or the computer have you ever had that problem? thanks

  • I had a beautiful 88 (Midnight blue) Fifth. It was my college car and then I got t-boned. You did to your car what I always dreamed of doing. Nice work.

  • Thanks!

  • dude how many horses you making.

  • About 400 horse, give or take. Have yet to take to it to a chassis dyno.

  • i bought a 87 fifth and restoring it and doing over the 318 totally 30.00 over bore 10.000 over on crank..my question is ,,did you buy the total exaust for m body? flowmaster or what?

  • Does this Fifth Avenue have a chime or a buzzer?

  • It has a chime.

  • I like...

  • Hi I have a Gran Fury 83 mod with a 318 V8. (The blue one here on youtube) Where did you get these headers? Do you think they would fit my car? Thanks for reply.

  • They're Hooker Competition long tube headers for an F body Chrysler. The fitment was great. I didn't need to clearance anything to make them fit.

  • sweat car man my dad had a fith avenue looked just like it on the out side but of corse under the hood it was a dif story lol he sold it a couple years back and ever since he got rid of it iv bine wanting to find one for to do up anywya snice car man

  • that is sick. im a young kid looking for my first car and i was thinking about a diplomat/gran fury. now i want one even more lol.

  • i love 4dr sleepers there insane

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeet =)
