  • the education lesson was fun in khanaacademy

  • great information .. appreciate it a lot

  • I love Khan Academy, but I don't think the kids were learning much there. I mean yeah they were having fun which is great, but there are more 'ideal' ways of learning and having fun at the same time. Also I totally disagree with SEThatered, 'purpose oriented' suggests a sense of productivity that is helpful, making robots that kick other robots off a table is not what I consider productive, but definitely fun.

  • @usmansharifmicky Robotics => Electric Engineering and Programming which already are the biggest deal right now and will be even more in the future. You just didn't get it, cause you, probably, don't notice this stuff around. Well open your eyes and see that popular culture - the crap that makes you notice itself - is a thing that you view using EE, Programming and sophisticated technologies.

  • Thank you!

  • excellent what you are doing ! Can i collaborate in the spanish translation ?

  • @jprbmx01 Yes you can. Jsut click on 'CONTRIBUTE' on the upper right part of Khan Academy's page. ¡Yo creo que también me voy a apuntar!

  • @Calabacin thank's for the information, i already send the application

  • thank you

  • whenever i see sal, i see a halo on top of his head

  • I like the idea of adding CS, But a Virtual Training Jacket Or Certificates that you could print would be awesome. This would be Invaluable to Those without access to Traditional Education. If you would like to see the A.C.E. consider KA send an E-mail to: comments@ace.nche.edu

  • Where is your school located just came across this I homeschool my grandaughter and would love any help that I can get, by the way this is a great service that you are doing for the future generations of learners, Great Job keep it up !

  • Aragon quickly!!!!!!!!

  • That is very interesting. I wonder if the sensors on the Lego car the two kids made connect to a microcontroller or directly to a motor. Thanks, Khan Academy!

  • if all schools did that so many people would do so much better.

  • It's a shame that "education" these days encourages students to care more about their grades than learning.

This is great, Sal Khan for Nobel Peace Prize.

  • @xXSparky117Xx

Peace prize? I am aware that he has contributed in revolutionizing education with his website but why peace?

Did he make any contribution in peace?where?how? enlighten me?

  • @pon00050

I meant the Nobel Prize, chill out.

  • @xXSparky117Xx

There is no Nobel prize for education, stop being idiots.

  • @Spyez

Sorry I ruined your day, I was wrong.

  • @xXSparky117Xx

    You are forgiven.

  • @Spyez

    Thank you, your majesty.

  • Great to make something exciting and useful in summercamps!!!!

  • 2:05 are some future engineering or science majors.

  • I WANNA SEND MY CHILDREN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's how education should be: fun and purpose oriented.

Thank you Khan! We love you and your work!

  • Khan could really change the entire education system for the better if he was allowed.

  • Beautiful, truly inspiring.

I hope to reform education for the better as you are currently doing.

  • This is probably the first video where Sal isn't talking about the same thing over and over again

  • wish my school played with legos, mine was too ghetto :(

  • Aragon Burlingham, only one letter away from awesomness!

  • if i put all the languages together, i still couldnt come up with a close enough description of how good sal is !! im in awe. this is so just soo amazing and nice to see :) so inspiring :) <3

  • This kicks the crap out of the robotics camp I went to as a kid.

  • i wish i had this as a kid! so jealous of these kids :(

  • Khan for president 2012!

  • darn i wish i was living in claifornia

  • fantastic man no other words for this

  • You are giving back like a super human. Compared to my education, like is graduate school. I hope you have a successful summer.

  • @Ronc303c Giving back? Don't think he stole or even took anything. Certainly not from these children. He is GIVING.

  • @carcabe I WAS implying he was giving back more than he received because he understands the value of the good education of younger people. I didn't mean to imply he stole anything... He has taken education to a higher level, asking for no reimbursement in return.

  • I suddenly want to back to grade school.

  • Oh! I did the robotics thing in elemantry too ^_^

    Khan for Nobel Prize!

  • Damn, i wish i was one of those kids xD

  • The methods are very good, but students should not have the ambition to win the fight. Listen to Alfie Kohn in A Case Against Competition (search on YouTube).

  • @raxsade waah

  • @Deioproductions Cooperation for a common goal, not competition where one wins and others lose.

  • @raxsade competition is fun as fuck, cooperation is boring, I'm sorry you eat up that pseudo-intellectual bullshit that acts like it is actually solving problems

  • @Deioproductions What you wanted to say is that challenges are fun. Challenges also lead to much higher motivation because each student gets to see his/her own improvement as s/he gets closer to achieving the challenge when trying harder, whereas competition causes a 'no hope' feeling for many, if not most, students.

  • @raxsade rofl, that's lame

  • @Deioproductions Kids shouldn't be educated to be warriors. They should be educated to be problem solvers.

  • @raxsade Being able to function in a team is the most important skill if you ever want to accomplish something, but you can't do that if you don't know your limitations.

Healthy rivalry and challenging each other is the best motivator to do your best and to measure your capacities against others who are also doing their best. It can be a hard lesson, but that's life.

Both competition and cooperation are equally important.

  • Man I wish I was back in 9th grade lmao.

  • Fantastic took apart the Roomba with this girl that is the same age as the children in this video, it was interesting to see how it works and how the lazers reflect on the photoresistor to stop or rotate the robot. Interesting stuff

  • if i dress up like a 12 yr old, can i come to the camp too?

  • tht looks so fun!! wish i had smthng like tht too instead of listening to my boring teacher babble away in classroom whilst day dreaming abt rainbow unicorns :P

  • Looks kinda trippy.

  • you know im going to college next year and i somehow feel that those kids are smarter than me

  • Great!

  • I wish i could go :/

  • I wish I had this when I was a kid... it's so awesome!

  • I hope those Apple computers in the background were a gift.

  • @Mal1234567 he probably rents out that school classroom. The area where he lives is well off.

  • Hm sounds fun ;-)

  • lucky kids...really...

  • I wish I could have done this! I never liked math and science in school but I have a feeling this would have ignited a new appreciation for these subjects

  • watch out, those kidz r gonna build metalgear somday.......

  • Maybe if we had more teachers like Khan, America wouldn't be lacking in Math and Science. What you are doing is wonderful, Sal! Keep it up!

  • Imagine going to a class room like THAT every day... WOW... all the kids were just having fun and learning more than they would all year or YEARS in a regular boring sit down do nothing fall asleep and die class room. My god and it is not rocket science. Sal wake these people up man!

  • How is this funded? Would the teacher have to write a grant?

  • Khan, I'm in love with you. I wish I had this when I was in school. I would have enjoyed my childhood a whole lot more.

  • if that guy had an "r" in his name, it would be Aragorn. XD

  • Shit, how I wish I was a third grader so that I could attended this camp.

  • Sal khan....i would.

  • I prefer Mindstorms RCX myself.

  • Next years project: Make the robots think!!!

  • i didn't know the word disassemble when i was his age XD

  • I wish I could have gone to something like this when I was a kid ;____; Thank you khanacademy for making these children having fun while learning!

  • how is it bootcamp 2010 when its 2011 now?

  • I hope you bring some of these ideas over the pond to places like the UK.

  • Did she say "Your robots a wannabe." at 3:30?

  • Wow, Lego Mindstrom NXT? That is crazy! Do you teach them the programming as well? Because that is high school material right there. Very, very impressive.

  • how about some camps in the Chicago area??!!

  • Is this for kids? or for teens too?

  • How do I get my kid into this camp?

  • cool stuff!

  • Khan for Nobel prize!

  • @DelJuvePiero i totally agree... sal definately should win a nobel prize and much more

  • @DelJuvePiero YES dammit he does deserve the Nobel Prize. - this needs to be a movement to get Khan a Nobel prize!

  • You are an amazing person. Thank you for everything.

  • @joshuniversity fail XD
