Chip is so cute by the way! He seems like a very happy hedgehog that's full of life. I love his colour and the cute little patch on his head. It makes him look like he has hair in his head. :D
My hedgehog isn't anti-social at all, whether it be with a human or another hedgehog. When I hold her she snuggles into my sweater and falls asleep or just sits on my lap and allows me to pet her. Also, when I got her a little boy, she always wanted to be with him and who sleep next to him in their cave. Yet, now I had to separate them because he obviously got her pregnant! The babies are expected to be born this month! :D
They're solitary animals in their natural setting so they prefer to be alone. Although two females will put up with each other's company; two males must not be put together as their domineering and solitary nature will come-out and they will fight :/
my hedgehog scratched its back just like yours it is not so good for their feet because of its quillss mine had blood mites maybe your hedgehog also have if u see litle red things on it then go to a animal doctor :)
Erm Hey. Does It hurt when It Curl Up Into A ball o.o? cuz Im Planning On Getting One But Im Afraid That It'll Be Very Scared And Curl Up Into A Ball LOL xD
Several years ago i used to raise hedgehogs, and back then as far as the pet trade goes. ..there were mainly only your normals, albinos and a few other simple variations. - But is your little guy a tri-colored? How awesome!
his back is spikes, not fur. the spikes are a modified hair, that is hollow i believe, and does get prickly and uncomfortable if he wants it to be. he DOES have unbelievably soft fur on his belly and under his chin!
I never had a hedgehog as a pet but my bunny have met one. Well we kinda let them meet each other.
The hedgehog was wild thou but no one came to harm but the funny thing is that both of them where pretty afraid of each other but due to curiosity the kept going closer to each other to then run directly at the opposite direction when they got to close.
We kept both in a place that was like 5-6 meters wide and 4 lenght. Big enough for them. We only kept the hedgehog there for like 10 minutes.
no he is a pinto--meaning he is a brown hedgehog with white spots, or in this case, a very large white spot over most of his body. and actually albinos aren't that rare in hedgehogs because they can be bred quite frequently. albino is just another color option of all white (and a whiter-white than chip) with red eyes.
Have you buy it?In Europe we can't find some hedgehog in pet stores because it's totally illegal to sell some and we can see it in our gardens!(I don't know if there's some savage hedgehogs in USA)
u guys who own this hedge hog suck i love hedge hogs it should have a normal cage not this stupid bucket take care of it good jeez why you buy it if u were gonna put it in a bucket might as well have a rock
