im a little worried about the new lineup though... i think michael barker and shannon birchall's influence is underrated... nicky bomba seems to be pretty good at drums but im pretty sure the new bassist doesnt play upright like shannon does... and shannon composed all the strings parts in their songs which were all incredible... those two guys left big shoes to fill

Well a lot of it has to do with his use of the 12 string. Other than that I'm fairly certain he uses either a TS9 or a TS808 Ibanez Tubescreamer for distortion.

It works the same as a 12 .. the guitar is a 12 string but he just takes off the small string with the G .. the lower note E-D have the small string tuned and Octave higher, while sometimes the G has the small tuned higher or sometimes unison, and the B and e are normally unison toe avoid breaking.
