  • their guitars sound like sex

  • Comment removed

  • marcan gretsch la negra y fender la azul

  • que guitarra ocupas en el video????que marca y que serie es????

  • anyone has a suggestion where I can get some good lessons on chord fingering? E.g. these guys play C-shaped chords all over the fretboard, should I be learning the CAGED system if I want to learn to play chords on any place on the neck?

  • @Botje101 I think they are actually F-shaped chords. Like a triad sort of thing.

  • Very, very awesome. I could learn every song.

  • ahh, look how different Timon Klein looks

  • Cool stuff, I'm going to try that 1/4 over triplet double delay this week!!

  • niiice ;D

  • Really good teaching.

  • i just noticed.. That might be timon klein playing with him, He looks so different.

  • Man my new guitar heroes!!:) i can play all that but gettin tht sound is hard! Lol

  • these dudes inspire me

  • Praise God .. :))

  • O Segredo não é ser virtuoso, e sim criativo.. e esses caras conseguem isso.

  • @xRezarth jealous?

  • @luisjustiniano11

    for what v_V'?

  • @xRezarth ahaha. Stupid delay? Because a person uses delay doesn't mean he's not a good musician. It really takes a good taste to use delay well. I do feel delay is sometimes over-used though. I try to take it as it is, a cool effect; not as 'everyone uses it, so it loses value' kind of thing.

  • wooo!!!

  • I love Gretsch Duo Jets. Duo Jets are awesome.

  • praise god ...i like this song .. i want to know this...

  • what are the name of the songs?

  • @ateckoxz

Titles are written in the video. The first is "Follow the son" and the second "Mighty to save"

  • god bless you guys

  • Execelent, bless from Venezuela

  • Thanks Nigel, so much for the tips. In a very real way, this is discipleship on steriods. This is really great. So, helpful.

  • @TheJonOhBoy The man's right friend, Timon uses a Japanese Powerjet. He mustve swapped the pups for lace.

  • When I play this song, I play my Les Paul using the neck the pick up for that high-treble sound. As far as effects, I can't find Nigel's exact stuff, but just from picking around a lot, I founf 35mms digital delay with a light distortion sound is pretty close. Wish I knew what he used forreal though.

  • @leebird21 He usualluy uses overdrive pedals for his lighter, dirtier noises. His specific pedals include a BOSS dd-5 with tap tempo and a Joyride Overdrive but any overdrive and any delay with a controllable tempo will do. z (Overdrive really makes you guitar stand out over others and in fact he uses two overdrives for extra drive during solos)

  • @leebird21 yeah he uses two delay pedals alot so it's kinda hard to find it's tempo

  • 2:43 sounds like the beginning of "the impression that i get"

  • what stompboxes do they use

  • Comment removed

  • @DhieP9 Nigels setup includes a BOSS dd-5 or dd-7 with tap temo, Joyride overdrive or any over drive basically. Two pedals is really all you need. For the upbeat gospel songs get a distortion (BOSS dd-1 is fine) and a modulator and/or chorus for those slower worship songs. Hope it helps god bless

  • @driftpick1125 thanks dude, it helps

  • plzz make lesson for normal guitar. i wanna learn gospel music .

  • Thanks guys :-)

    this surely make things simpler...

    God Bless :-)

  • does anyone know which guitar is??????

  • jesus ROCKS

  • oh man look at timon...

  • Very tasteful guitar work! I love it!

  • were did nigel learn to play guitar?

  • Jesus blessed you with your talent.. :)

  • anyone knows if Timons strat is just "american" or is it another special series model?

  • @rstroker530 looks like a strat plus because of the lace sensors!

  • @rstroker530 oh and it also has a lsr roller nut so that confirms the strat is a strat plus.

  • hey good video

i just posted an acoustic cover of this song. check it out and let me know what you think.

  • @1cynan - Practice.... seems like a terrible answer but conditioning your hands helps a great deal. Another is to learn variations on chords. If you struggle with a specific chord, find an augmented chord to substitute. Finally, learn to transpose. If you cannot stand doing a song in F (which involves a Bb), then transpose to another key.

Hope this helps a little. God bless...

  • Is this from a DVD? I would pay a lot for something like this. Where can I get it?

  • myleocompany shat your mouth

  • he looks like Jesus .. i love him... i'll praise him as my lord of guitar

  • @MyLeoCompany blasphemy;)

  • @MyLeoCompany god is the only one who deserves the sorry bro

  • This is a great video....except for the horrible quality of the compression!! Come on hillsong youve had over quarter of a million views on this video you should upload a better version.

  • awesome

  • He seems to use two different delays (not sure if different unit) and two amps from what I recall. He has a pretty high end delay unit that probably let's him do just about anything and run it out in different lines. I would like to understand how he does it better, a little beyond my understanding right now...I'm new to this delay thing.

  • @fishmank27 his effect is really simple actually he does use a bit more then average delay pedals but also some regular non boutique like pedals mainly his distortions, guitar and amp is all high end 100% but pedals he has some mixed basically if you have a really nice guitar and amp then any pedals will sound really creamy and good vice versa have decent guitar and amps and really nice pedals will do all the work for you hope this helps you =]

  • Moledude, thanks for your input. That makes perfect sense now! I have found that I will preset my delays like Nigel based upon the BPM of a song and then the drummer changes slightly or someone else starts the song...and then it is messed up. I have a tap function, but i don't think it will tap the dotted 8th on the fly. At least i havent figured it out. This will help a lot!!!

  • So when doubles the delay part in "Higher" does he have to use two delay units?

  • I am trying to incorporate some of this style with delays into my playing for worship... I figured out how to set dotted 8th delay when bpm of song is set (vox tonelab le). Nigel talks about havin delays set already, what if the drummer starts at different tempo or another guitarist? How does he tap in a dotted 8th? Or how would I do that on the tonelab? If anyone knows, suggestions please....thx

  • The drummer has a little headphone in his ear with a metronome that he plays before each song so he is always on the same beat (you can see it if you watch videos of their performance). It sounds crazy but i'm not kidding. I'm a worship pastor major at NCU (a Christian music college) and thats how all the big names do it. WIth the drummer always on the same beat, Nigel never has to tap in tempos, he just has everything preset

  • He has cool sounds.

    I will play with nigel.

He is so cool and awesome.

    God blessed!

    Go Jesus

  • brother!!! how did u do to upload a video of that size!!! i uploades one of 12 minutes and it didnt work!! can u tell how??

  • yeah dude!!!! that is the best part about playing guitar!

  • I have just recently started to learn how to play guitar. I never knew that there are so many creative and different ways that one could play on the guitar, let alone blend different sounds created by the guitar to create a sort of a guitar ensemble, like what was demonstrated in the video.

  • I love Jesus.

  • Nigel has some amazing tone!

  • The Strat is called a Strat Plus. It has the Lace sensors and LSR roller nut. They were made in the US.

  • The strat is made in Japan. =]

  • Does any 1 know what model/type the blue fender is ? or the specs, its so awesome, i want one.. please aome one, if you know, god bless <3

  • looks like an American Strat to me. I don't know if that's what they call if in Australia, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

  • Muito bom!!!! Emerson Crema Brasil

  • Jesus is awesome ;)

  • nigel is awesome

  • i like to learn

  • Nigel's guitar is made in Japan..its called Gretsch Duojet with filtertron pickups..I just got one yesterday...kinda finicky for a proper setup which is required..i wonder how Nigel setup his???

  • @ForeverSoul It's actually a PowerJet, not a Duo.

  • @Nic1988Videos its actually a duo jet

if u look closely at the bridge the duo jet has a circular thingy..at the two ends and the powerjet doesnt

  • @Giggity230 Pretty sure Dos don't have the two selectors on the top, That is the PowerJet's config.

  • @Nic1988Videos nop, the Duo's have two toggle switches look it up in the gretsch guitar websit and look at the model G6128T Duo Jet w/ Bigsby this model. this the one that Nigel uses. and if u look at different hillsong guitar workshop videos Nigel says its a Duo and got it from Ebay lol

  • @Giggity230 I coulda sworn that was only on the PowerjJet. Sweet.

  • congrats nigel and timon goodluck

    thank God!!!!!!!!

and i wanna be the guitarist and anything else he wants me to be for him = ]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just praise ure Lord all day!!!!!!!!

  • Sometimes less is more! They are not playing the gutairs to please you, they do it for God: and God only! Trust me those guys can actually destroy on those gutairs. Like Mic Fleetwood the drummer from Fleetwood Mac he holds back on the drums and plays simple stuff but he can destory on the drums also. What they are doing is showing discipline. Droff the guy with the black gutair has been playing for 20 years and I think he knows what he is doing. WOW your spelling is amazing, "8tims."

  • Where can I can find this DVD workshop.

  • hillsong . com / creative has all the info on all his info

  • Nigel Hendroff his a filipino guy or something

  • nigel is not using a G6128T-DSV Duo Jet Bigsby its a G6128T Power Jet Electric Guitar

  • In the God He Reigns DVD guitar workshop he clearly states that it's a Duo Jet with Filtertron pickups, thus G6128T.

  • maybe he has two and he used the G6128T in the God He Reigns DVD

  • Es realmente magnifico la manera en como tocan,DIOS LOS BENDIGA.

  • what?

  • "This is played magnificiently, God bless you guys."

  • this was supposed to be a video helping fellow christian to mprove such skills for the Lord, y did it became an offending ground?

    ...

pls. dnt use no good words ..

    :)

  • umm..may i request that u pls break down the videos to 2 or 3 parts please? My comp has slow synchronization process. So it takes a VERY long time to convert it to my iPod...

  • if it was broken down to 2 or 3 parts it would be difficult for us to learn right?

  • is this on dvd?

  • His Gretsch is so cool, so is his Gibson LP Classic too. Oh man I would sell my computer for either one of those...

  • hey pal...you're not the editor of this site so just sit back there and listen....

    and mind your words here....

  • do you mind, picking better words, bro¿

i don´t know how to get 20 min vids, but is nice that this got 20 mins.

  • to answer your question while everyone else tells u to shut up. i think you can pay a subscription and get more features.

  • yeahhh, i play hillsong music at my church. too, with just an ibanez rg270 and Boss ME 50, i can get almost all the sounds that Nigel play..., come on Nigel my birthday is on december, could you give me one of your effects ?? xD . you have too much... lol

  • Nigel is a genius on the guitar, but ur right, it is an INSANE amount of gear!

  • can anyone help me how to get as close as i can to the sound of Nigels playing with my amp and guitar?

ive got BC Rich Mockingbird ST and Roland Cube30x

  • maybe u wanna get effect pedals?

  • u gotta get pedals

  • well, I personaly use a POD x3 live and a gibson les paul standard but even so, i still cant get that Gretsch sound he plays!!!

    THE GUY IS A GENIOUS!!!

  • for the price it's hard to beat the pod x3 live.

i still prefer single pedals to effects boards, but the x3 is pretty nice.

  • To get his sound, basically, you need a Gretsch, or a guitar with TV Jones pickups, couple of overdrives, and a great tube amp. But, you don't need to get his sound, just get close enough to where you're happy.

  • wats the name of the songs?

  • LADRONES!

  • with just a simple pedal effects... like...zoom its impossible to have to delays at the same time right?

  • he is using two delay pedals one is an analog and the other one is digital. i cheat a little and use my DD-3 delay and my line 6 pod and its pretty darn close ;)

  • can anyone help me how to get as close as i can to the sound of Nigels playing with my amp and guitar?

ive got BC Rich Mockingbird ST and Roland Cube30x

thanks in advance! and God bless you all :)

  • hmm check out his Wiki page, it lists his gear over there. I must say, though, that it's an INSANE amount of gear. Haha

  • good I have t now but I can't play the bridge part it's so hard

    but Thanks

  • oh man. timon is so skinny.

  • this is hard.. :(

    but eventually i can learn

    Glory to God!

  • to bad they don't have the tabs/chords in some link or something.. i can't play this now :(

  • Hello apology know that guitar uses Nigel?

  • nah. mgc plays the black penguin. in this video, nigel is using a duo jet.

  • nigel uses G6128T Duo Jet w/ Bigsby it cost $2,450

  • i want THAT guitar and THOSE EFFECTS

  • If you watch the other Hillsong workshop vid he does have a Mesa Boogie and this is still not answering my question someone has to know his settings.

  • Does anyone know Nigels Mesa Boogie head and Vox AC30 Settings?

  • Nigel doesnt use a Mesa Boogie. Watch the end of the video. He uses a Matchless DC30 Combo and A Vox AC30

  • He doesn't use a Mesa Boogie anymore. He did on the last album, but that's where it stopped appearing on Hillsong's music.

  • Boos GT-8??

  • Love theese guys...and love God more!Hillsong is great...

  • how the do they produce such clean sound?

  • He plays a Gretch guitar that he bought on E-bay. He bought it for a very cheap price:O

    Greets from Hollandia

  • but not just a normal Gretch... Wish I had that guitar, it is immense =D

  • what is the brand of his guitar?

  • gretsch

  • dude the bass guy is all going out when everyone is still LOL

  • these guys are just amazing ! I love hillsong .

  • but remember dont focus so much on the worshiper but who you worship to

  • I agree.
