Papermates aren't bad, I myself have a Papermate Sharpwriter and it works great. It's a twistable... I reccomend getting twistable mechanical pencils because it's almost like they make the led stronger and it doesn't break as much, maye it's just me, but...
FYI did you know up until 1983 Russia had to import all their pencil's cause they did not have the technology to make them? Also if you look in sundays paper you will see the worlds record for the biggest pencil ever made.

i say you find your engineering students, get a drafting pencil. their erasers suck, but good pencils. anyway really close to those are white plastic erasers. in either pen like form or a block. either way better than those you just showed. but hey nice demonstration. thanks for the tip
Dude, have you ever seen Kean's word problems? These are like the quizzes from hell. You NEED an eraser. I put :) next to my answers so he could find it. I TURNED IN A COLLEGE TEST WITH SMILEY FACES ALL OVER IT! This is so sad.

Weird, my papermate doesn't do that. I don't really care considering the fact that it was 92 cents for a box of 24 pencils.

Maybe they do suck.
But sometimes they wont erase because the eraser is old. You need to have a new one.
Also was they able to erase with a other eraser ?
I use Dixon Ticonderoga Pencils they are really good with nice erasers.
You should carry an extra eraser with you in your Pencil Pouch on your shirt pocket =oP

What I have found is, if your wearing jeans you can use the eraser on the denim and it takes the film on the eraser off and allows you to erase.
