  • omg best voice in the whole movie-industry

  • Ah! The Tell-Tale Heart! I love that short story along with Poe's other ones. I should be writing my essay on Shakespeare's Sonnet 60, but instead I'm going to go listen to your full video. :X

  • Yes, I worked for a while doing recorded radio spots and you could do that easily. I only stopped because the money is not really dependable. You make $7,000 one week and nothing for three months. I did a lot of Rock bands and monster truck races. You should think about it

  • You could EASILY get into the acting business, you know.

    Such talent.

    Take care Urgelt

  • Ach, an acting career isn't for me, Jeremy. That's a strange, surreal existence. But I thank you for your kind words regardless.

  • i must be on my way to all these links! with haste i must proceed!! :D

  • Heh, I don't hurry to make these. No reason you should hurry to view them. :P

  • If madman knows nothing

    so what can we know?

    Ask Urgelt.His dancing

    of voice is fatal lore.

  • You know more than a little about making words dance yourself, bedhooker. Thanks for your interesting comment.

  • That was cool!

  • Thanks!

  • Hi Urgelt. This looks great! Cant wait to check it out. Hope youre happy and well. Happy Holidays, Pattipi :)

  • Hi, Patti, nice to hear from you! Hope you enjoyed the full story. :-)

  • Oh Yes, Urgelt. Your story-telling is brilliantly engaging. I love Poe and I love you! I love the line "A watch's minute hand moved more quickly than did mine". Wonderful job! Pity that those damn cops always overstay their welcome hehe :)

  • Thank you, Patti, a kinder review I could not hope to find. :-)

  • Heyyy, you use creative commons too? Cool.

Another great site is ccmixter dot org.

  • Hi, Nancy, thanks for stopping by. Yes, I've used Creative Commons for a long time; it's very cool!

  • Very nice--you play the sophisticated madman, as the story depicts, a man you know who is insane, but is so brilliant you doubt yourself.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it, Brandon, and thanks for your insightful comment.

  • LOVE your stuff!!!!!!

  • Put the whole Tell Tale Heart up on YouTube, please

  • I wish I could, Kathannon.

YouTube limits me to 10 minutes per video. This one is 16.5 minutes in length, and serializing it would disrupt Poe's flow and timing.

  • good story

  • That was actually brilliant and exciting!

  • i like poe

  • COMMANDS OF WISDOM!I like your style!!

  • Thanks, SZ. :-)

  • It's great to see you, Urgelt! I've been gone from YouTube for far too long and I have missed way too many videos. I look forward to watching you tell this story over "there". :)

  • LadySeneca! I was afraid you had emigrated to someplace where "using the net" means working on a cod trawler!

I'm happy to see you poke in your nose. :-)

  • ooohhhh my spine is shiverinh

  • Hello, i clicked into your profile and i must say i'm speechless. I could listen to all the poes over and over again. And i'm glad we both like Poe. And i hope to see "The Raven" in the future.

    Best Regards.

  • Poe is awesome, agreed! Thanks for dropping by, Gummey. :-)

  • Oh my gosh! Thank you thank you thank you for doing Poe. I suggested some time ago after I wrote that poem for you that you should do the Raven, but this is even better! I can't wait to go see the whole video! Poe is my absolute favorite author!

    Catherine

  • "The Raven" should eventually find its way into a video, too, though I don't know when. Mejpye is laboring on the videography; the narration was done a few months ago.

I'm glad you share my enjoyment of Poe, Catherine. :-)

  • Nice trailer! Very effective...when it was over, What! That's it?!

Ha! Gotta go check out the longer version now. Bye!

  • Making the teaser was the most fun of the whole project. :-)

  • And oftentimes they are the most challenging! Glad you enjoyed it.

I really liked your reading of Poe's story. Felt like I was there.

  • I'm glad, and thank you for saying so! :-)

  • You genuis! It's J.P, remember me? (jp994)

I have been waiting for ages for a new video from you, and now... VOILA! What a great halloween treat. You really do have a talent in narrating.

  • Of course I remember, Jeremy, we've corresponded a few times. :-)

Poe is the creative genius behind "The Tell-Tale Heart," of course, not me. Anyone who reads his lines is just along for the (very hairy) ride.

Though of course a narrator can screw it up. I've been thinking of doing a *bad* job of narrating something to show how awful it can get. :-)

  • Yes, you should make a terrible one. Haha, then NO ONE can say, wow Urgelt, this is so good! :p

  • Urgelt: the best narrator here in Youtube.. sorry nono.. the best OVER THE WORLD :-D

    very very cooooooooooool teaser

  • Heh, Tino, I can always count on you for enthusiastic, if exaggerated, support. Thanks!

No-one is the "best narrator on YouTube." There is no objective basis for such a distinction, nor does there need to be one.

All that matters here is that we talk to each other, share our interests, and have fun. *Everyone* who does that is a winner. Including you! :-)

  • yes thats true amigo but still i know what i am talkingaboutyouare definetly(sorry for the wrong spelling lol) a real good narrator... we really should create some work together.. the problem is.. thatyou already know :_Duntil january february i almost make essays or just youtube collaborations :-D

  • I actually say a play of this done with Timmothy Busfield. Great story. I'm going to go check out your video right now. If it's anything like your other videos, I'm sure it's amazing. :)

  • Not as amazing as the Emmy-winning Busfield, I'm sure, but I had fun with it, and that's all that matters to an amateur.

I'd have liked to see his performance!

  • Nice Man :)

  • Thanks, Paco. :-)

  • ...Aw, man. My Norton blocker censored your site. Stupid settings...

  • Norton doesn't like LiveVideo? Hmm.

Heh, there's a cluster of about 3 neurons in my brain that loves to dream up conspiracy theories. What if Norton has a deal with Google to keep people away from LiveVideo? :P

  • XD

Apparently, LiveVideo matches its blocker description for the "Sex/Acts" category.

  • Yet YouTube passes its filter? How very, very odd.

Likely it's not a deliberate block, but an assumption that anything with "live" and "video" in the title must be selling porn. Probably that assumption is mostly right, too.

It would be good if Norton would permit a site that is no more threatening than YouTube, though.

  • I do so enjoy your readings, Urgelt - and this one is certainly no exception. Brilliant as always.

  • Thank you, Cindy, you made my day.

  • Ooooh, we've just read this in school, I'll go watch the full version. I'm thinking it's going to be amazing 'cause you have the perfect voice!

    :]

    Luce.x

  • I hope you do like it, Luce. :-)

  • Oh I look forward to this one. I remember I read this story back in high school. But I forgot most of it.

  • that is such a good story urgelt! i love ur vids man

  • Thanks, Dennis, I'm glad you do.

  • I said it then and i say it now...this is a way to experience a whole new feeling while listening to this Poe´s Tale by the wise voice of Urgelt...thank you my friend for this unique interpretation! :)

  • Thanks, Kopkitty, I'm very happy you liked it. :-)

  • Missed you Urgelt

  • Sorry about that, ghostpos. The delay was mostly attributable to problems with equipment and software upgrades. It's more or less fixed now, finally.

  • Go to LiveVideo NOW and watch Urgelt's reading of this classic Poe Poem! I did, it's great!

  • Thanks for the plug, Kenny. :-)

  • Urgelt! so wonderful to see you! I can't wait til I have time to watch this (doing exams at the mo) and be delightfully chilled, I just love your voice and delivery!

  • Good luck on your exams, Julie!

  • I love the story, so I shall go check it out when I get the time!

  • It's a great story, Stefani. Hope you'll like my presentation.

  • Urgelt, i have seen it, its just so great! :)

  • Ah, good, I'm glad you enjoyed it, my friend.

  • I hate when I see a mispelled word in one of my videos! Why doesn't Windows Media Player have spell check! Doh!

  • My own fault, Russ. I had it spelled correctly in my notes and failed to check it when I created the title.

  • The full version of this was one of the best presentations of the the Tell-Tale Heart I've ever seen/heard. Thank you again.

  • Thanks, Ken, much appreciated.

  • Anticipation is both delightful and cruel. I look forward to finished telling.

  • Any time you're ready, Lex - just follow the link in the text box.

I couldn't post the video here because it's over 10 minutes.

  • Great, I'm checking it out!

  • Hope you enjoy it, AD.

  • Loved it! Good old fashioned storytelling is good for the mind.

  • I couldn't agree more, Gerold. Thanks for your kind comment.

  • me 2 u have good acting 5 stars

  • Thanks, Robert.

  • I still like it =P

  • Not much changed - just the credits...
