After Effects 7, Trapcode Shine, Trapcode Particular... the background was a variation of fractal noise with AE7 expression code written to make it cycle and produce the sliding wall plates look. The background and Kent are 3D compositions. Kent swings back and forth based on a sin wave math formula and expressions.
The silhouettes radiating off of Kent's outline are produced with the Radio Waves and a noise creation filter to give it a little style (hard to see in this low-res format). The hardest part was animating the text which was snapped to a path line and then key markers added to the position in the path, the text, and the fade-in/fade-out effect. All in all.. around 20 hours of work.
If that's what it takes, I now know why my vids are so boring.
My version of this took me about two hours to put together, including finding the images, editing it all together and writing the minimum amount of text included.
The irony here is that your slide-show format video probably got more hits lol :) If you have any projects that need help, let me know. I'm always itching for more practice.
I may take you up on that offer, I'm working on a project on Young Earth Creationism that I could probably use some help on. Still only in the research phase so far, though, so it could be a while ;o) I'm a lazy bugger.
