  • the sharks can only be kept in captivity for 67 days before they start to get ill, so they take them about about every 65 days, so they keep bringing it fresh sharks and let the others into the ocean.

  • He doesent have any teeth

  • throw a seal in there for a laugh

  • great white shark sounds so racist.. lol

  • @Cognoscentiable I resemble that remark, keep the comments here constructionative.

  • @num9090 resemble.? so your saying you look like that remark.? lol

    dictionary time for some.

  • it's so sad that they can't live in captivity for long. even though they're predators they're beautiful animals.

  • the shark is probly a big ass mother fucker now

  • Holy hell....If this shark survives it will be the first Great White to live in captivity. I really hope it does survive.

  • why??? the sharks never survive in captivity

  • @jeffreyprevost Yes! it's a great white!

  • You are all wrong. It is actually an extremely rare lizard. They had to clip its legs so that now it is 'armless to the other fish (and whales) that are in the tank. Also, it kept climbing out of the tank and played havoc in the cafe.

  • @fatdragon2008 This is an interesting hypothesis which demands further investigation.

  • Hi guys, thanks for all the support with my nature education comments. It feels good to know that I'm reaching people who otherwise wouldn't get the chance to learn about these things. Another interesting fact you might not be aware of is that whales drink a lot of water in the oceans whilst swallowing fish, ultimately resulting in sea levels falling, which in turn causes global warming; another good reason why we should kill them off while we have the chance before they become too powerful.

  • @num9090 So lets review what we learned,

This was 100% a SHARK, not an orca whale.

Whales swim in packs, but are called pods. ( If you knew so much about whales, you should know about this stuff)

Killing the whales would ruin are eco system. ( To much plankton and krill is not the best thing...)

I hope you enjoyed going back to school, but i would recommend another 5-10 years for ya...

  • @num9090 OK buddy, time for school! Whales swim with there tales going up and down. Sharks going side to side! This is going to side to side, so it must be a fish! And whales are not fish as we all know so its a shark! And also, not all whales kill fish smart one. The only ones that do are orcas. And they mainly kill seals and penguins. Almost all the whales have those bristles in there moulth, there for, they can not CHEW fish. And killing whales?!?! Dude thats the most horrible idea I ever saw

  • 'Adapting to its new home' ... not quite. White sharks die most of the time within days due to food refusal and if they make it (usually juveniles) they are released most of the time.

  • they will look a lot bigger to them if they where inside of the tank

  • @num9090 Are you fucking retarded?

  • @Cryxboy Your comment would suggest you have no interest in educating yourself, and clearly demonstrates you have no knowledge about wildlife. I would advise you to leave the comments here to the experts. However, if this on the other hand, is a cry for help and you don't know who to turn to for a better understanding of the environment, then I'd advise you get right in amongst nature; visit your local zoo or pet store, it will likely change your life. You could also buy my new book.

  • @num9090 Speaking of education - that is a great white SHARK and NOT an Orca... have you even SEEN one?!! They are WAY bigger and also BLACK AND WHITE in colour... sorry my friend if you can't tell the difference between a shark and a whale... seek help. And it's NOT a "water park" but a several million gallon salt water tank..

  • @NutJobII Its really disappointing to see young people like yourself let down by your country's education system, something which unfortunately only highlights the division of wealth between first and third world nations around the globe. It is important that you research your information from valid sources to form a sound knowledge base of nature related issues. The creature in the tank above is clearly a whale as it is swimming alone; whales never swim in packs, so its an obvious give-away.

  • @num9090 are u stupid? Whales swim in in "packs." There called pods....

  • @adkgirlsince01 Its an obvious mistake you've made by confusing the escape pods that ships release into the sea which also use the same infra red guidance system as whales, however although escape pods move in packs whales clearly dont unless a few of them swim into each other by accident at night.

  • @num9090 No dude, I know what im talking about. My aunts a marine worker. Also I go to the sea almost EVRY WEEKEND!! Have you read a book an whales? It clearly states that they swim in pods.

  • @adkgirlsince01 and the thing is, you are actually right so num9090 should be quiet now, because they're just making an idiot of themself :L

  • @danielradcliffexxxxx I know, hes a dumbass. I REALLY hope hes kidding, cause if not, he needs to go back to school and not be on here, showing off his "smarts"

  • @adkgirlsince01 haha yes i dont even understand half of what he's on about :L

  • @danielradcliffexxxxx IKR, hes stupid. Like he thinks we should kill whales because they "eat all the worlds fish" Like wtf, they dont take THAT much. And that thing about the whales swimming in pods, his theroy is so stupid like COME ON!! O really hope hes kidding.

  • @adkgirlsince01 haha the sad thing is, I think he is being serious :L even a 5 year old can work out that's a shark...

  • @danielradcliffexxxxx WOW!!! What a dumbass

  • @num9090 Sharks are fish. Whales are mammals. This is a shark. Therefore, it's a fish.

  • @aqua0501 Its a common enough mistake you've made, but I think you'll find that I'm right on this one. Sharks live in groups of approximately 10-15 animals; they are lead by a dominant male which scientists call the captain. They hunt at night using infra-red, killing mostly smaller sharks. A shark's fur is explosion proof which prevents hunters from killing them effectively, unless they use poison. Whales dont swim in packs as shown in the video above, so this is obviously a whale.

  • @num9090 Well you are either joking or your mind is so stupendously delusional and ignorant you can't comprehend simple facts in nature.

  • @aqua0501 It takes a certain type of person to admit they're wrong when faced with overwhelming evidence contrary to their argument, which is commendable on your part by admitting to your error; humility is a gift. You might not also be aware that whales like the one in this video pose a serious threat to humans as they are eating all the fish in the ocean. Chinese scientists though are developing a new poison to fight them which should be ready in 5 years and will hopefully kill them all off.

  • @num9090 You have some nerve to post that I was wrong! You are a sad excuse for a human being. You pollute the air with your vial lies and assertions.

  • @aqua0501 Im sure @num9090 is joking if not he is the most fkin dumb person i have seen on youtube

  • @lDARYLN3LSONl Lets just hope he's joking.

  • @num9090 Type in 'whale' into google, then type in 'shark' and try to work out the difference between the two

  • tthat shark is awesome!!!!

  • @neongreen2216 it sure is

  • a great white wont live long in captivity, the eco sound bounceing off the glass drives them crazy

  • I see a lot of people giving out information who can't even spell the simple words they are using.

    LMFAO

  • Someguy on here said Great Whites don't get very big, huh, 25 feet isn't big, wow. and can weigh in at close to 2 tones. I wonder what he thinks IS big then ?

  • THE WORST THING YOU CAN DUE IS TRY TO TAME SOMETHING THAT SHOULDN'T BE TAMED! you think that you can get sympathy for being bitten by a great white? NO, YOU GOT BIT BECAUSE YOU LEFT LAND AND WENT INTO THE WATER WHERE THEY LIVE AND HUMANS WEREN'T MADE TO LIVE AND YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW THE RIGHT INSTRUCTIONS YOU DUMBASS! IF YOU GOT SYMPATHY FOR BEING BITTEN ITS LIKE A ROBBER COMING INTO YOUR HOUSE TO STEAL YOUR BELONGINGS AND THEM GETTING SYMPATHY FOR YOU TRYING TO STOP THEM! CHEW ON THAT!

  • @aqwdarkblurr Its not a very apt simile

  • @aqwdarkblurr Its not a very apt simile

  • @aqwdarkblurr nigger

  • @aqwdarkblurr They're not trying to tame it they rescued it and released it again just before it was fully grown.

  • @aqwdarkblurr exactly!!!!!! sharks rule the ocean, humans rule the land, we enter their territory at our own risk, so people shouldn''t complain about it

  • its funny, humans have killed more great whites than great whites have killed humans... chew on that! Great whites only attack out of curiosity or by mistake... it will bite only once (unless your its primary food source)... great whites shouldn't be kept in captivity... if you are afraid of great whites and haven't been struck by lightning you have nothing to worry about... if you ask me most surfers are dicks and deserve the bites (but i dont mean all surfers) great whites do not get very big

  • @aqwdarkblurr Nigger dick, chew on that!

  • great white today...megladon tomorrow.....

  • @galwaypeters2 megladon yesterday >.>

  • @AmonAmarth99 yeah the most dangerous shark is a bull shark responsible for most deaths and most attacks

  • Nice video!

  • @AmonAmarth99 thats the same with all sharks. no shark attacks a person on purpose, its by mistake. you can watch a flipping discovery show to learn that.

  • its a female shark moron!!

  • sharks get bigger in captivity so if that shark was kept in the aquarium for like 12

more years then it could be like 18 or 19ft

  • why are no great white sharks kept in captivity? we have dolphins, apes etc why do we always release great whites?

  • @skarules111

1: it needs a very large amount of food

2: when they get big, they'll become very dangerous and will attack!

  • @windowsVD No. That is not the reason Great Whites aren't kept in captivity. Do you honestly think a large, several hundred million dollar aquarium would have trouble providing enough food for an animal? Especially one that would make them a lot of money? Also, when they're big they become very dangerous?... yeah, so do hundreds of other species of animals kept at zoos and aquariums.

  • @symonwill

yeah but the other dangerous animals can be trained not to attack and you can't train a great white.

  • @symonwill They have trouble getting them to eat, the few that have eaten well have been able to stay for like 5 months in captivity and were in fine/healthy/growing condition when released

  • @skarules111 They just don't survive in captivity. It's kind of a weird thing. I think scientists are still researching the exact reason. Some things can't be recreated in captivity which the animal gets out in the open sea I suppose.

  • @symonwill its cos in the wild they have always lived in areas where they need to move around alot so when u put a shark that is ust to wide open space it carnt handle the enclosing walls

  • People, LISTEN. the reason GWS should be in captivity like this, is because it gives the possibility to study methods of population recovery, which is one of the most breakthrough methods of conservation. by studying the shark in captivity, one can find a way to raise them in it, and in the worst case senario keep them alive in these aquariums.

  • my father told me that the reason gws arnt in captivty for long is because they hav such a wide open range of home say 300 miles they need can last in smaller

  • is that a lemon shark at 0:31?

  • The white shark would kill al the other big fish bad idea to put him in the same tank

  • "He's just a baby!"

  • it got let after a few days or it wud die

  • It stayed there health for 198 days and was tagged and released

  • are there full size greats in captivity?

  • no, there isn't currently

  • What I think we oughta do is, You know those "endless pools"? The ones that people buy that have the currents so that you swim, but don't move? We should build a larger version and see if a white shark could live in one of those. They have to keep swimming for sooo long, so why don't we try to get something like that and try it out? People are going to chew me out because supposedly EVERYTHING should be left in the wild in your minds, but, we need to research the great white.

  • @SwimJessicaSwim i aint gonna chew you about the wild. but that wodent work simply because sharks need to feel that their in the wild, thats why some of them survive longer in these giant million gallon tanks, it fools them into thinking their in the wild.

  • Comment removed

  • he get out 1 day just u wait when he is a big 14 footer ur in for it

  • its going to die! SET IT FREE!

  • I think Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the most respected aquariums in the country, know what to do with this shark.

If you know anything about the story, it was or is going to be set free when it recovers.

  • Humans, Eagles, White Sharks, and other animals... were born to be free!

    They can't live in captivity!!!!

  • yeah well what are you gonna do

  • The reason why great white sharks cannot be kept in captivity is because they swim for thousands of miles, if they are kept in a large tank or in a small conpound they will get disarientated, they pick up minut electricity fields this causes them to act different within the tank then out in the wild.

Lets face it if we could get great white sharks in a tank to stay alive then, they would be all over the world in various water aquariums. maybe people wud see then they will nt harm you.

  • i am assuming that you have not spent any time around sharks. i have been around them my entire life and the great whites and tigers are the ones that will hurt ANYTHING

  • i agree with the tiger being an aggressive 'dustbin of the sea' but the white isn't as brainless. most of their kills are accidental. obviously, as with humans, they aren't all the same. it's not set in stone. some are more choosey of their next meal than others

  • no great whites are very picky eaters, and their each really smart they can even learn from obsesrvation, so they dont hurt everything because their mindless, so come up with some facts, not opinions.

  • This is wonderful only question I have is why does the Galapagos Shark Swim through right when you are talking about white sharks? It is a little confusing. He has a rounded snout as compared to the white shark.

The galapagos shark (Carcharhinus galapagensis), also known as the grey reef whaler, is an aggressive requiem shark found in tropical waters.

  • yes this may be so but i wa replyin to a comment below on about great white sharks sorry if i confused yu
